וַיְהִ֣י׀ it vai-HEE בְּחֹ֣דֶשׁ came beh-HOH-desh נִיסָ֗ן to nee-SAHN שְׁנַ֥ת pass sheh-NAHT עֶשְׂרִ֛ים in es-REEM לְאַרְתַּחְשַׁ֥סְתְּא the leh-ar-tahk-SHAHS-teh הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ month ha-MEH-lek יַ֣יִן Nisan, YA-yeen לְפָנָ֑יו in leh-fa-NAV וָֽאֶשָּׂ֤א the va-eh-SA אֶת twentieth et הַיַּ֙יִן֙ year ha-YA-YEEN וָֽאֶתְּנָ֣ה of va-eh-teh-NA לַמֶּ֔לֶךְ Artaxerxes la-MEH-lek וְלֹֽא the veh-LOH הָיִ֥יתִי king, ha-YEE-tee רַ֖ע that ra לְפָנָֽיו׃ wine leh-fa-NAIV -
וַיֹּאמֶר֩ the va-yoh-MER לִ֨י king lee הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ said ha-MEH-lek מַדּ֣וּעַ׀ unto MA-doo-ah פָּנֶ֣יךָ me, pa-NAY-ha רָעִ֗ים Why ra-EEM וְאַתָּה֙ is veh-ah-TA אֵֽינְךָ֣ thy ay-neh-HA חוֹלֶ֔ה countenance hoh-LEH אֵ֣ין sad, ane זֶ֔ה seeing zeh כִּי thou kee אִ֖ם art eem רֹ֣עַֽ not ROH-ah לֵ֑ב sick? lave וָֽאִירָ֖א this va-ee-RA הַרְבֵּ֥ה is hahr-BAY מְאֹֽד׃ nothing meh-ODE -
וָֽאֹמַ֣ר said va-oh-MAHR לַמֶּ֔לֶךְ unto la-MEH-lek הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the ha-MEH-lek לְעוֹלָ֣ם king, leh-oh-LAHM יִֽחְיֶ֑ה Let yee-heh-YEH מַדּ֜וּעַ the MA-doo-ah לֹֽא king loh יֵרְע֣וּ live yay-reh-OO פָנַ֗י for fa-NAI אֲשֶׁ֨ר ever: uh-SHER הָעִ֜יר why ha-EER בֵּית should bate קִבְר֤וֹת not keev-ROTE אֲבֹתַי֙ my uh-voh-TA חֲרֵבָ֔ה countenance huh-ray-VA וּשְׁעָרֶ֖יהָ be oo-sheh-ah-RAY-ha אֻכְּל֥וּ sad, oo-keh-LOO בָאֵֽשׁ׃ when va-AYSH -
וַיֹּ֤אמֶר the va-YOH-mer לִי֙ king lee הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ said ha-MEH-lek עַל unto al מַה me, ma זֶּ֖ה For zeh אַתָּ֣ה what ah-TA מְבַקֵּ֑שׁ meh-va-KAYSH וָֽאֶתְפַּלֵּ֔ל dost va-et-pa-LALE אֶל thou el אֱלֹהֵ֖י make ay-loh-HAY הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ request? ha-sha-MA-yeem -
וָֽאֹמַ֣ר I va-oh-MAHR לַמֶּ֔לֶךְ said la-MEH-lek אִם unto eem עַל the al הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ king, ha-MEH-lek ט֔וֹב If tove וְאִם it veh-EEM יִיטַ֥ב please yee-TAHV עַבְדְּךָ֖ av-deh-HA לְפָנֶ֑יךָ the leh-fa-NAY-ha אֲשֶׁ֧ר king, uh-SHER תִּשְׁלָחֵ֣נִי and teesh-la-HAY-nee אֶל if el יְהוּדָ֗ה thy yeh-hoo-DA אֶל servant el עִ֛יר have eer קִבְר֥וֹת found keev-ROTE אֲבֹתַ֖י favour uh-voh-TAI וְאֶבְנֶֽנָּה׃ in veh-ev-NEH-na -
וַיֹּאמֶר֩ the va-yoh-MER לִ֨י king lee הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ said ha-MEH-lek וְהַשֵּׁגַ֣ל׀ unto veh-ha-shay-ɡAHL יוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת me, yoh-SHEH-vet אֶצְל֗וֹ (the ets-LOH עַד queen ad מָתַ֛י also ma-TAI יִֽהְיֶ֥ה sitting yee-heh-YEH מַֽהֲלָכֲךָ֖ by ma-huh-la-huh-HA וּמָתַ֣י him,) oo-ma-TAI תָּשׁ֑וּב For ta-SHOOV וַיִּיטַ֤ב how va-yee-TAHV לִפְנֵֽי long leef-NAY הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ shall ha-MEH-lek וַיִּשְׁלָחֵ֔נִי thy va-yeesh-la-HAY-nee וָֽאֶתְּנָ֥ה journey va-eh-teh-NA ל֖וֹ be? loh זְמָֽן׃ and zeh-MAHN -
וָֽאוֹמַר֮ I va-oh-MAHR לַמֶּלֶךְ֒ said la-meh-lek אִם unto eem עַל the al הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ king, ha-MEH-lek ט֔וֹב If tove אִגְּרוֹת֙ it ee-ɡeh-ROTE יִתְּנוּ please yee-teh-NOO לִ֔י lee עַֽל the al פַּחֲו֖וֹת king, pa-huh-VOTE עֵ֣בֶר let A-ver הַנָּהָ֑ר letters ha-na-HAHR אֲשֶׁר֙ be uh-SHER יַֽעֲבִיר֔וּנִי given ya-uh-vee-ROO-nee עַ֥ד me ad אֲשֶׁר to uh-SHER אָב֖וֹא the ah-VOH אֶל governors el יְהוּדָֽה׃ beyond yeh-hoo-DA -
וְאִגֶּ֡רֶת a veh-ee-ɡEH-ret אֶל letter el אָסָף֩ unto ah-SAHF שֹׁמֵ֨ר Asaph shoh-MARE הַפַּרְדֵּ֜ס the ha-pahr-DASE אֲשֶׁ֣ר keeper uh-SHER לַמֶּ֗לֶךְ of la-MEH-lek אֲשֶׁ֣ר the uh-SHER יִתֶּן king's yee-TEN לִ֣י forest, lee עֵצִ֡ים that ay-TSEEM לְ֠קָרוֹת he LEH-ka-rote אֶת may et שַֽׁעֲרֵ֨י give sha-uh-RAY הַבִּירָ֤ה me ha-bee-RA אֲשֶׁר timber uh-SHER לַבַּ֙יִת֙ to la-BA-YEET וּלְחוֹמַ֣ת make oo-leh-hoh-MAHT הָעִ֔יר beams ha-EER וְלַבַּ֖יִת for veh-la-BA-yeet אֲשֶׁר uh-SHER אָב֣וֹא the ah-VOH אֵלָ֑יו gates ay-LAV וַיִּתֶּן of va-yee-TEN לִ֣י the lee הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ palace ha-MEH-lek כְּיַד which keh-YAHD אֱלֹהַ֖י appertained ay-loh-HAI הַטּוֹבָ֥ה to ha-toh-VA עָלָֽי׃ the ah-LAI -
וָֽאָב֗וֹא I va-ah-VOH אֶֽל came el פַּֽחֲווֹת֙ to pa-huh-VOTE עֵ֣בֶר the A-ver הַנָּהָ֔ר governors ha-na-HAHR וָֽאֶתְּנָ֣ה beyond va-eh-teh-NA לָהֶ֔ם the la-HEM אֵ֖ת river, ate אִגְּר֣וֹת and ee-ɡeh-ROTE הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ gave ha-MEH-lek וַיִּשְׁלַ֤ח them va-yeesh-LAHK עִמִּי֙ ee-MEE הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the ha-MEH-lek שָׂ֥רֵי king's SA-ray חַ֖יִל letters. HA-yeel וּפָֽרָשִֽׁים׃ Now oo-FA-ra-SHEEM -
וַיִּשְׁמַ֞ע Sanballat va-yeesh-MA סַנְבַלַּ֣ט the sahn-va-LAHT הַחֹֽרֹנִ֗י Horonite, ha-hoh-roh-NEE וְטֽוֹבִיָּה֙ and veh-toh-vee-YA הָעֶ֣בֶד Tobiah ha-EH-ved הָֽעַמֹּנִ֔י the ha-ah-moh-NEE וַיֵּ֥רַע servant, va-YAY-ra לָהֶ֖ם the la-HEM רָעָ֣ה Ammonite, ra-AH גְדֹלָ֑ה heard ɡeh-doh-LA אֲשֶׁר of uh-SHER בָּ֥א it, ba אָדָ֔ם it ah-DAHM לְבַקֵּ֥שׁ grieved leh-va-KAYSH טוֹבָ֖ה them toh-VA לִבְנֵ֥י exceedingly leev-NAY יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ yees-ra-ALE -
וָֽאָב֖וֹא I va-ah-VOH אֶל came el יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם to yeh-roo-sha-la-EEM וָֽאֱהִי Jerusalem, VA-ay-hee שָׁ֖ם and shahm יָמִ֥ים was ya-MEEM שְׁלֹשָֽׁה׃ there sheh-loh-SHA -
וָֽאָק֣וּם׀ I va-ah-KOOM לַ֗יְלָה arose LA-la אֲנִי֮ in uh-NEE וַֽאֲנָשִׁ֣ים׀ the va-uh-na-SHEEM מְעַט֮ night, meh-AT עִמִּי֒ I ee-MEE וְלֹֽא and veh-LOH הִגַּ֣דְתִּי some hee-ɡAHD-tee לְאָדָ֔ם few leh-ah-DAHM מָ֗ה men ma אֱלֹהַי֙ with ay-loh-HA נֹתֵ֣ן me; noh-TANE אֶל neither el לִבִּ֔י told lee-BEE לַֽעֲשׂ֖וֹת I la-uh-SOTE לִירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם any lee-roo-sha-la-EEM וּבְהֵמָה֙ man oo-veh-hay-MA אֵ֣ין what ane עִמִּ֔י my ee-MEE כִּ֚י God kee אִם had eem הַבְּהֵמָ֔ה put ha-beh-hay-MA אֲשֶׁ֥ר in uh-SHER אֲנִ֖י my uh-NEE רֹכֵ֥ב heart roh-HAVE בָּֽהּ׃ to ba -
וָאֵֽצְאָ֨ה I va-ay-tseh-AH בְשַֽׁעַר went veh-SHA-ar הַגַּ֜יא out ha-ɡAI לַ֗יְלָה by LA-la וְאֶל night veh-EL פְּנֵי֙ by peh-NAY עֵ֣ין the ane הַתַּנִּ֔ין gate ha-ta-NEEN וְאֶל of veh-EL שַׁ֖עַר the SHA-ar הָֽאַשְׁפֹּ֑ת valley, ha-ash-POTE וָֽאֱהִ֨י even va-ay-HEE שֹׂבֵ֜ר before soh-VARE בְּחוֹמֹ֤ת beh-hoh-MOTE יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ the yeh-roo-sha-la-EEM אֲשֶׁר dragon uh-SHER פְּרוּצִ֔ים well, peh-roo-TSEEM וּשְׁעָרֶ֖יהָ and oo-sheh-ah-RAY-ha אֻכְּל֥וּ to oo-keh-LOO בָאֵֽשׁ׃ the va-AYSH -
וָאֶֽעֱבֹר֙ I va-eh-ay-VORE אֶל went el שַׁ֣עַר on SHA-ar הָעַ֔יִן to ha-AH-yeen וְאֶל the veh-EL בְּרֵכַ֖ת gate beh-ray-HAHT הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ of ha-MEH-lek וְאֵין the veh-ANE מָק֥וֹם fountain, ma-KOME לַבְּהֵמָ֖ה and la-beh-hay-MA לַֽעֲבֹ֥ר to la-uh-VORE תַּחְתָּֽי׃ the tahk-TAI -
וָֽאֱהִ֨י went va-ay-HEE עֹלֶ֤ה I oh-LEH בַנַּ֙חַל֙ up va-NA-HAHL לַ֔יְלָה LA-la וָֽאֱהִ֥י in va-ay-HEE שֹׂבֵ֖ר the soh-VARE בַּֽחוֹמָ֑ה night ba-hoh-MA וָֽאָשׁ֗וּב by va-ah-SHOOV וָֽאָב֛וֹא the va-ah-VOH בְּשַׁ֥עַר brook, beh-SHA-ar הַגַּ֖יְא and ha-ɡA וָֽאָשֽׁוּב׃ viewed VA-ah-SHOOV -
וְהַסְּגָנִ֗ים the veh-ha-seh-ɡa-NEEM לֹ֤א rulers loh יָֽדְעוּ֙ knew ya-deh-OO אָ֣נָה not AH-na הָלַ֔כְתִּי whither ha-LAHK-tee וּמָ֖ה I oo-MA אֲנִ֣י went, uh-NEE עֹשֶׂ֑ה or oh-SEH וְלַיְּהוּדִ֨ים what veh-la-yeh-hoo-DEEM וְלַכֹּֽהֲנִ֜ים I veh-la-koh-huh-NEEM וְלַֽחֹרִ֣ים did; veh-la-hoh-REEM וְלַסְּגָנִ֗ים neither veh-la-seh-ɡa-NEEM וּלְיֶ֙תֶר֙ had oo-leh-YEH-TER עֹשֵׂ֣ה I oh-SAY הַמְּלָאכָ֔ה as ha-meh-la-HA עַד yet ad כֵּ֖ן told kane לֹ֥א it loh הִגַּֽדְתִּי׃ to hee-ɡAHD-tee -
וָֽאוֹמַ֣ר said va-oh-MAHR אֲלֵהֶ֗ם I uh-lay-HEM אַתֶּ֤ם unto ah-TEM רֹאִים֙ them, roh-EEM הָֽרָעָה֙ Ye ha-ra-AH אֲשֶׁ֣ר see uh-SHER אֲנַ֣חְנוּ the uh-NAHK-noo בָ֔הּ distress va אֲשֶׁ֤ר that uh-SHER יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ we yeh-roo-sha-la-EEM חֲרֵבָ֔ה are huh-ray-VA וּשְׁעָרֶ֖יהָ in, oo-sheh-ah-RAY-ha נִצְּת֣וּ how nee-tseh-TOO בָאֵ֑שׁ Jerusalem va-AYSH לְכ֗וּ lieth leh-HOO וְנִבְנֶה֙ waste, veh-neev-NEH אֶת and et חוֹמַ֣ת the hoh-MAHT יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֔ם gates yeh-roo-sha-la-EEM וְלֹֽא thereof veh-LOH נִהְיֶ֥ה are nee-YEH ע֖וֹד burned ode חֶרְפָּֽה׃ with her-PA -
וָֽאַגִּ֨יד I va-ah-ɡEED לָהֶ֜ם told la-HEM אֶת them et יַ֣ד of yahd אֱלֹהַ֗י ay-loh-HAI אֲשֶׁר the uh-SHER הִיא֙ hand hee טוֹבָ֣ה of toh-VA עָלַ֔י my ah-LAI וְאַף God veh-AF דִּבְרֵ֥י which deev-RAY הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ ha-MEH-lek אֲשֶׁ֣ר was uh-SHER אָֽמַר good AH-mahr לִ֑י upon lee וַיֹּֽאמְרוּ֙ me; va-yoh-meh-ROO נָק֣וּם as na-KOOM וּבָנִ֔ינוּ also oo-va-NEE-noo וַיְחַזְּק֥וּ the vai-ha-zeh-KOO יְדֵיהֶ֖ם king's yeh-day-HEM לַטּוֹבָֽה׃ words la-toh-VA -

וָֽאָשִׁ֨יב answered va-ah-SHEEV אוֹתָ֜ם oh-TAHM דָּבָ֗ר I da-VAHR וָֽאוֹמַ֤ר them, va-oh-MAHR לָהֶם֙ and la-HEM אֱלֹהֵ֣י said ay-loh-HAY הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם unto ha-sha-MA-yeem ה֚וּא them, hoo יַצְלִ֣יחַֽ The yahts-LEE-ha לָ֔נוּ God LA-noo וַֽאֲנַ֥חְנוּ of va-uh-NAHK-noo עֲבָדָ֖יו heaven, uh-va-DAV נָק֣וּם he na-KOOM וּבָנִ֑ינוּ will oo-va-NEE-noo וְלָכֶ֗ם prosper veh-la-HEM אֵֽין us; ane חֵ֧לֶק therefore HAY-lek וּצְדָקָ֛ה we oo-tseh-da-KA וְזִכָּר֖וֹן his veh-zee-ka-RONE בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ servants bee-ROO-sha-loh-EEM
