இந்நாட்களுக்கு முன்னே மனுஷனுடைய வேலையால் பலனுமில்லை, மிருகஜீவனுடைய வேலையால் பலனுமில்லை; போகிறவனுக்கும் வருகிறவனுக்கும் நெருக்கிடையினிமித்தம் சமாதானமுமில்லை; எல்லா மனுஷரையும் ஒருவரையொருவர் விரோதிக்கச்செய்தேன்.

அந்த நேரத்துக்கு முன்பு, கூலிக்கு வேலை ஆட்களையும், வாடகைக்கு மிருகங்களையும் அமர்த்த மனிதர்களிடம் பணம் இல்லாமல் இருந்தது. ஜனங்களுக்கு வந்து போவது பாதுகாப்பானதாக இல்லை. அவர்களுக்கு எல்லா துன்பங்களிலிருந்தும் விடுதலை இல்லாமல் இருந்தது. நான் ஒவ்வொருவரையும் தன் அயலாருக்கு எதிராக மாற்றியிருக்கிறேன்.
