அப்பொழுது, அந்தப் பரிசேயரும் வேதபாரகரும் அவரை நோக்கி: உம்முடைய சீஷர்கள் ஏன் முன்னோருடைய பாரம்பரியத்தை மீறி கை கழுவாமல் சாப்பிடுகிறார்கள் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.

உம்முடைய சீஷர்கள் முன்னோர்களின் பாரம்பரியத்தை ஏன் மீறி நடக்கிறார்கள்? கைகழுவாமல் போஜனம் பண்ணுகிறார்களே! என்றார்கள்.

அவர் ஆயக்காரோடும் பாவிகளோடும் போஜனம்பண்ணுகிறதை வேதபாரகரும் பரிசேயரும் கண்டு, அவருடைய சீஷரை நோக்கி: அவர் ஆயக்காரரோடும் பாவிகளோடும் போஜனபானம் பண்ணுகிறதென்னவென்று கேட்டார்கள்.
