அப்பொழுது ராஜா யூதாவிலும் எருசலேமிலும் இருந்த மூப்பரையெல்லாம் அழைப்பித்தான்; அவர்கள் அவனிடத்தில் கூடினபோது,

1 சாமுவேல் 12:23
நானும் உங்களுக்காக விண்ணப்பம் செய்யாதிருப்பேனாகில் கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவஞ்செய்கிறவனாயிருப்பேன்; அது எனக்குத் தூரமாயிருப்பதாக; நன்மையும் செவ்வையுமான வழியை நான் உங்களுக்குப் போதிப்பேன்.

நான் என்னாலே இயன்றமட்டும் என் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்துக்கென்று பொன்வேலைக்குப் பொன்னையும், வெள்ளிவேலைக்கு வெள்ளியையும், வெண்கலவேலைக்கு வெண்கலத்தையும், இரும்புவேலைக்கு இரும்பையும், மரவேலைக்கு மரத்தையும், பதிக்கப்படத்தக்க, அந்தியுள்ள கற்களையும், பலவருணக் கற்களையும், விலையேறப்பெற்ற சகலவித ரத்தினங்களையும், வெண்கற்பாளங்களையும், கோமேதக முதலிய கற்களையும் ஏராளமாகச் சவதரித்தேன்.

பஸ்காவை இரண்டாம் மாதத்தில் ஆசரிக்கும்படி, ராஜாவும் அவனுடைய பிரபுக்களும் எருசலேமிலுள்ள சபையார் யாவரும் யோசனைபண்ணியிருந்தார்கள்.
