જ્યારે બાળક આઠ દિવસનું થયું ત્યારે તેની સુન્નત કરાવવામાં આવી અને તેનું નામ ઈસુ રાખવામાં આવ્યું. પ્રભુના દૂતે માતાના ગર્ભમાં બાળક આવતા પહેલાં જ આ નામ આપ્યું હતું
