Acts 17:29
“આપણે દેવના બાળકો છીએ. તેથી તમારે એમ વિચારવું ના જોઈએ કે દેવ માણસોની કારીગરી કે કાલ્પનિક કોઇક વસ્તુ જેવા છે. તે કાંઈ સુવર્ણ, ચાંદી કે પથ્થર જેવો નથી.

દેવની બાબતમાં કેટલીક વસ્તુઓ એવી છે જે જોઈ ન શકાય તેવી છે. જેમ કે દેવનું સનાતન પરાક્રમ અને એવા અન્ય બધા જ ગુણો કે જે તેને દેવ બનાવે છે. પરંતુ આ જગતનો પ્રારંભ થયો ત્યારથી એ બધી બાબતો ઘણી સરળતાથી લોકો સમજી શકે એમ છે. દેવે જે વસ્તુઓનું સર્જન કર્યું છે, એનું દર્શન કરીને દેવ વિષેની આ બાબતો લોકો સરળતાથી સમજી શકે છે. તેથી લોકો જે ખરાબ કાર્યો કરી રહ્યાં છે તેના પાપામાંથી છટકવા કોઈ પણ બહાનું ચાલશે નહિ.
Habakkuk 2:19
જે મનુષ્ય લાકડાની મૂર્તિને ઊઠાડવાનો પ્રયત્ન કરે છે. જે માણસ પથ્થરને ખસેડવાની કોશિષ કરે છે તે જોખમમાં છે! શું મૂર્તિ કાંઇ શીખવી શકે છે? તેઓ સોનાથી અને ચાંદીમાં જડાયેલી છે, પણ તેની અંદર શ્વાસ બિલકુલ નથી.

જેઓ મૂર્તિ બનાવે છે તે બધા કેવા તુચ્છ છે? તેઓ જેને મોંધીમૂલી ગણે છે તે મૂર્તિઓ કશા કામની નથી, તેમના સાક્ષીઓ કંઇ દેખતા નથી અને જાણતાં કંઇ નથી કે સાક્ષી આપી શકે. એટલે આખરે એમની ફજેતી થાય છે.
