லூக்கா 5:27
இவைகளுக்குப் பின்பு, அவர் புறப்பட்டு, ஆயத்துறையில் உட்கார்ந்திருந்த லேவி என்னும் பேருடைய ஒரு ஆயக்காரனைக் கண்டு: எனக்குப் பின்சென்று வா என்றார்.

இது நடந்த பின்னர், இயேசு வெளியே சென்றுகொண்டிருக்கையில் வரி அலுவலகத்தின் முன்பாக வரி வசூலிப்பவன் ஒருவன் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கக் கண்டார். அவன் பெயர் லேவி. இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி, “என்னைத் தொடர்ந்து வா” என்றார்.
