அதற்கு ஆபிரகாம்: இவ்விடத்தில் தெய்வபயம் இல்லையென்றும், என் மனைவியினிமித்தம் என்னைக் கொன்றுபோடுவார்கள் என்றும் நான் நினைத்தேன்.

பிறகு ஆபிரகாம், “நான் பயந்துவிட்டேன், இந்த இடத்தில் உள்ள எவரும் தேவனை மதிக்கமாட்டார்கள் என்று நினைத்தேன். சாராளுக்காக என்னை எவராவது கொன்று விடுவார்களோ என்று நினைத்தேன்.

ஆபிரகாம் மறுமொழியாக, “இவ்விடத்தில் கடவுளுக்கு அஞ்சுவார் எவரும் இல்லையென்றும் என் மனைவியை அடையும்பொருட்டு என்னைக் கொன்று விடுவார்கள் என்றும் நினைத்தேன்.

And Abraham אַבְרָהָ֔ם ʾabrāhām av-ra-HAHM
Because כִּ֣י kî kee
I thought, אָמַ֗רְתִּי ʾāmar ah-MAHR
Surely רַ֚ק raq rahk
not אֵין ʾayin ah-YEEN
the fear יִרְאַ֣ת yirʾâ yeer-AH
of God אֱלֹהִ֔ים ʾĕlōhîm ay-loh-HEEM
place; בַּמָּק֖וֹם māqôm ma-KOME
in this הַזֶּ֑ה ze zeh
and they will slay me וַֽהֲרָג֖וּנִי hārag ha-RAHɡ
for עַל ʿal al
sake. דְּבַ֥ר dābār da-VAHR
