தானியேலின்மேல் குற்றஞ்சாற்றின மனுஷரையோவென்றால் ராஜா கொண்டுவரச்சொன்னான்; அவர்களையும் அவர்கள் குமாரரையும் அவர்கள் மனைவிகளையும் சிங்கங்களின் கெபியிலே போட்டார்கள்; அவர்கள் கெபியின் அடியிலே சேருமுன்னே சிங்கங்கள் அவர்கள்மேல் பாய்ந்து, அவர்கள் எலும்புகளையெல்லாம் நொறுக்கிப்போட்டது.

பிறகு அரசன், தானியேல்மீது குற்றம் சாட்டி அவனைச் சிங்கக்குகைக்குள் அனுப்பியவர்களைக் கொண்டுவரும்படிக் கட்டளையிட்டான். அம்மனிதர்களும் அவர்களது மனைவிகளும் குழந்தைகளும் சிங்கக்குகைக்குள் தள்ளப்பட்டனர். அவர்கள் குகையின் தரைக்குள் விழுவதற்குமுன்பே சிங்கங்கள் அவர்கள் மேல் பாய்ந்து, அவர்களது உடல்களைக் கிழித்து எலும்புகளை மென்று உண்டன.
