ஏழாம்நாளில், பிள்ளை செத்துப்போயிற்று. பிள்ளை செத்துப்போயிற்று என்று தாவீதின் ஊழியக்காரர் அவனுக்கு அறிவிக்க ஐயப்பட்டார்கள்; பிள்ளை உயிரோடிருக்கையில், நாம் அவரோடே பேசுகிறபோது, அவர் நம்முடைய சொற்கேட்கவில்லை; பிள்ளை செத்துப்போயிற்று என்று அவரோடே எப்படிச் சொல்லுவோம்? அதிகமாக வியாகுலப்படுவாரே என்று பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

ஏழாம் நாளில், பிள்ளை இறந்துபோனது. பிள்ளை இறந்துபோனது என்று தாவீதின் வேலைக்காரர்கள் அவனுக்கு அறிவிக்க பயந்தார்கள்: பிள்ளை உயிரோடிருக்கும்போது, நாம் அவரோடு பேசுகிறபோது, அவர் நம்முடைய சொல்லைக் கேட்கவில்லை; பிள்ளை இறந்துபோனது என்று அவரிடம் எப்படிச் சொல்லுவோம்? அதிகமாக மனவேதனை அடைவாரே என்று பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

ஏழாவது நாள், குழந்தை மரித்தது. தாவீதின் பணியாட்கள் குழந்தை மரித்த செய்தியை தாவீதிடம் சொல்லப் பயந்தனர். அவர்கள், “குழந்தை உயிரோடிருந்தபோது தாவீதோடு பேச முற்பட்டோம். ஆனால் அவர் நாங்கள் சொன்னதைக் கேட்க மறுத்தார். இப்போது குழந்தை மரித்ததென்று தாவீதிடம் சொன்னால், அவர் தனக்குத்தானே தீங்கு ஏதேனும் செய்துக்கொள்ளலாம்” என்றனர்.

பின் ஏழாவது நாள் குழந்தை இறந்தது. குழந்தை இறந்ததைத் தாவீதின் பணியாளர் அவரிடம் சொல்ல அஞ்சினர். “குழந்தை உயிரோடு இருந்தும் நாம் அவரிடம் பேசிய போது அவர் நம் குரலுக்குச் செவி கொடுக்கவில்லையே! குழந்தை இறந்து விட்டது என்று நாம் அவரிடம் சொன்னால் அவர் தமக்கு என்ன தீங்கு இழைத்துக் கொள்வாரோ?’ என்று அவர்கள் பேசிக்கொண்டார்கள்.⒫
