ரெகொபெயாம் தாவீதின் குமாரனாகிய எரிமோத்தின் குமாரத்தி மகாத்தையும், ஈசாயின் குமாரனாகிய எலியாபின் குமாரத்தி அபியாயேலையும் விவாகம்பண்ணினான்.

இப்படி மூன்று வருடங்கள்வரை யூதாவின் ராஜ்ஜியத்தைப் பலப்படுத்தி, சாலொமோனின் மகனாகிய ரெகொபெயாமைத் திடப்படுத்தினார்கள்; தாவீதும் சாலொமோனும் நடந்த வழியிலே மூன்று வருடங்கள்வரை நடந்தார்கள்.

அவர்கள் யூத அரசைப் பலமுள்ளதாக்கினார்கள். அவர்கள் மூன்று ஆண்டு காலத்திற்குச் சாலொமோனின் மகனான ரெகொபெயாமிற்கு உதவினார்கள். அவர்கள் இக்காலக்கட்டத்தில் தாவீதைப்போலவும் சாலொமோனைப் போலவும் வாழ்ந்ததால் இவ்வாறு செய்தனர்.
