Mark 14:54
ਪਤਰਸ ਕੁਝ ਵਿੱਥ ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ-ਪਿੱਛੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਨਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠਕੇ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਕਣ ਲੱਗਾ।

ਪਤਰਸ ਦਾ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਪਤਰਸ ਅੱਗ ਕੋਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਘਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਦੂਜੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈਂ?” ਪਰ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਹਾਮੀ ਨਾ ਭਰੀ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ।”

ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਜਾਜਕ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਲਿਜਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਕੁਝ ਵਿੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕੀਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵਿਹੜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ। ਉਹ ਇਹ ਵੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਉਤਸੁਕ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਵਾਪਰੇਗਾ।

ਜਦੋਂ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਢੱਕਣ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੋਲੇ ਦਾ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਫ਼ੇਰ ਉਹ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਫ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਵੇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਖਲੋ ਗਿਆ। ਫ਼ਿਰ ਇੱਕ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਏਲੀਯਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਹੈਂ?”

ਉੱਥੇ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਇੱਕ ਗੁਫ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਟਿਕਿਆ। ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਹੇ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਇੱਥੇ ਕੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ?”

ਕਈ ਇਬਰਾਨੀ ਯਰਦਨ ਦਰਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਗਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਲਆਦ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਲੇ ਗਏ। ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਗਿਲਗਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਦੀ ਫ਼ੌਜ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਬ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
