ਦਾਊਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਨੇ ਬੜੀ ਸਖਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਯੋਆਬ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਪਤਾਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਤਾਂ ਫਿਰ ਯੋਆਬ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਨਾ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਪਤਾਨ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕਰਨ ਨਿਕਲ ਪਏ।
