ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭੂਮੀ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦੀ ਤਲਬ ਹੋਈ। ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕਾਸ਼! ਕੋਈ ਬੈਤਲਹਮ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਖੂਹ ਦਾ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਫਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਲਾਵੇ।” (ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਉਂ ਉਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਆਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਵਾਸਤਵ ’ਚ ਮੰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਰਿਹਾ।)
