Psalm 74 in Tamil

1 தேவனே, நீர் எங்களை என்றென்றைக்கும் ஏன் தள்ளிவிடுகிறீர்? உமது மேய்ச்சலின் ஆடுகள்மேல் உமது கோபம் ஏன் புகைகிறது? O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

2 நீர் பூர்வகாலத்தில் சம்பாதித்த உமது சபையையும், நீர் மீட்டுக்கொண்ட உமது சுதந்தரமான கோத்திரத்தையும், நீர் வாசமாயிருந்த சீயோன் பர்வதத்தையும் நினைத்தருளும். Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

3 நெடுங்காலமாகப் பாழாய்க்கிடக்கிற ஸ்தலங்களில் உம்முடைய பாதங்களை எழுந்தருளப்பண்ணும்; பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்திலே சத்துரு அனைத்தையும் கெடுத்துப்போட்டான். Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.

4 உம்முடைய சத்துருக்கள் உம்முடைய ஆலயங்களுக்குள்ளே கெர்ச்சித்து, தங்கள் கொடிகளை அடையாளங்களாக நாட்டுகிறார்கள். Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.

5 கோடரிகளை ஓங்கிச் சோலையிலே மரங்களை வெட்டுகிறவன் பேர்பெற்றவனானான். A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.

6 இப்பொழுதோ அவர்கள் அதின் சித்திரவேலைகள் முழுவதையும் வாச்சிகளாலும் சம்மட்டிகளாலும் தகர்த்துப்போடுகிறார்கள். But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.

7 உமது பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தை அக்கினிக்கு இரையாக்கி உமது நாமத்தின் வாசஸ்தலத்தைத் தரைமட்டும் இடித்து, அசுத்தப்படுத்தினார்கள். They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.

8 அவர்களை ஏகமாய் நிர்த்தூளியாக்குவோம் என்று தங்கள் இருதயத்தில் சொல்லி, தேசத்திலுள்ள ஆலயங்களையெல்லாம் சுட்டெரித்துப்போட்டார்கள். They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

9 எங்களுக்கு இருந்த அடையாளங்களைக் காணோம்; தீர்க்கதரிசியும் இல்லை; இது எதுவரைக்கும் என்று அறிகிறவனும் எங்களிடத்தில் இல்லை. We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.

10 தேவனே, எதுவரைக்கும் சத்துரு நிந்திப்பான்? பகைவன் உமது நாமத்தை எப்பொழுதும் தூஷிப்பானோ? O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

11 உமது வலதுகரத்தை ஏன் முடக்கிக்கொள்ளுகிறீர்; அதை உமது மடியிலிருந்து எடுத்து ஓங்கி நிர்மூலமாக்கும். Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom.

12 பூமியின் நடுவில் இரட்சிப்புகளைச் செய்துவருகிற தேவன் பூர்வகாலமுதல் என்னுடைய ராஜா. For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

13 தேவரீர் உமது வல்லமையினால், சமுத்திரத்தை இரண்டாகப் பிளந்து, ஜலத்திலுள்ள வலுசர்ப்பங்களின் தலைகளை உடைத்தீர். Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.

14 தேவரீர் முதலைகளின் தலைகளை நெருக்கிப்போட்டு, அதை வனாந்தரத்து ஜனங்களுக்கு உணவாகக் கொடுத்தீர். Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

15 ஊற்றையும் ஆற்றையும் பிளந்துவிட்டீர்; மகா நதிகளையும் வற்றிப்போகப்பண்ணினீர். Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers.

16 பகலும் உம்முடையது, இரவும் உம்முடையது; தேவரீர் ஒளியையும் சூரியனையும் படைத்தீர். The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

17 பூமியின் எல்லைகளையெல்லாம் திட்டம்பண்ணினீர்; கோடைகாலத்தையும் மாரிகாலத்தையும் உண்டாக்கினீர். Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.

18 கர்த்தாவே, சத்துரு உம்மை நிந்தித்ததையும், மதியீன ஜனங்கள் உமது நாமத்தைத் தூஷித்ததையும் நினைத்துக்கொள்ளும். Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

19 உமது காட்டுப்புறாவின் ஆத்துமாவைத் துஷ்டருடைய கூட்டத்திற்கு ஒப்புக்கொடாதேயும்; உமது ஏழைகளின் கூட்டத்தை என்றைக்கும் மறவாதேயும். O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

20 உம்முடைய உடன்படிக்கையை நினைத்தருளும்; பூமியின் இருளான இடங்கள் கொடுமையுள்ள குடியிருப்புகளால் நிறைந்திருக்கிறதே. Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.

21 துன்பப்பட்டவன் வெட்கத்தோடே திரும்பவிடாதிரும்; சிறுமையும் எளிமையுமானவன் உமது நாமத்தைத் துதிக்கும்படி செய்யும். O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.

22 தேவனே எழுந்தருளும், உமக்காக நீரே வழக்காடும்; மதியீனனாலே நாடோறும் உமக்கு வரும் நிந்தையை நினைத்துக்கொள்ளும். Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.

23 உம்முடைய சத்துருக்களின் ஆரவாரத்தை மறவாதேயும்; உமக்கு விரோதமாய் எழும்புகிறவர்களின் அமளி எப்பொழுதும் அதிகரிக்கிறது. Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.

1 Thaevanae, neer engalai ententaikkum aen thallividukireer? Umathu maeychchalin aadukalmael umathu kopam aen pukaikirathu? O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?

2 Neer poorvakaalaththil sampaathiththa umathu Sabaiyaiyum, neer meettukkonnda umathu suthantharamaana koththiraththaiyum, neer vaasamaayiruntha seeyon parvathaththaiyum ninaiththarulum. Remember thy congregation, which thou hast purchased of old; the rod of thine inheritance, which thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein thou hast dwelt.

3 Nedungaalamaakap paalaaykkidakkira sthalangalil ummutaiya paathangalai eluntharulappannnum; Parisuththa sthalaththilae saththuru anaiththaiyum keduththuppottan. Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.

4 Ummutaiya saththurukkal ummutaiya aalayangalukkullae kerchchiththu, thangal kotikalai ataiyaalangalaaka naattukiraarkal. Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs.

6 Ippolutho avarkal athin siththiravaelaikal muluvathaiyum vaachchikalaalum sammattikalaalum thakarththuppodukiraarkal. But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.

7 Umathu Parisuththa sthalaththai akkinikku iraiyaakki umathu naamaththin vaasasthalaththaith tharaimattum itiththu, asuththappaduththinaarkal. They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.

8 Avarkalai aekamaay nirththooliyaakkuvom entu thangal iruthayaththil solli, thaesaththilulla aalayangalaiyellaam sutteriththuppottarkal. They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

9 Engalukku iruntha ataiyaalangalaik kaannom; theerkkatharisiyum illai; ithu ethuvaraikkum entu arikiravanum engalidaththil illai. We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knoweth how long.

10 Thaevanae, ethuvaraikkum saththuru ninthippaan? Pakaivan umathu naamaththai eppoluthum thooshippaano? O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?

11 Umathu valathukaraththai aen mudakkikkollukireer; athai umathu matiyilirunthu eduththu ongi nirmoolamaakkum. Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck it out of thy bosom.

12 Poomiyin naduvil iratchippukalaich seythuvarukira Dhevan poorvakaalamuthal ennutaiya raajaa. For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

13 Thaevareer umathu vallamaiyinaal, samuththiraththai iranndaakap pilanthu, jalaththilulla valusarppangalin thalaikalai utaiththeer. Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou brakest the heads of the dragons in the waters.

14 Thaevareer muthalaikalin thalaikalai nerukkippottu, athai vanaantharaththu janangalukku unavaakak koduththeer. Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces, and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

15 Oottaைyum aattaைyum pilanthuvittir; makaa nathikalaiyum vattippokappannnnineer. Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou driedst up mighty rivers.

16 Pakalum ummutaiyathu, iravum ummutaiyathu; thaevareer oliyaiyum sooriyanaiyum pataiththeer. The day is thine, the night also is thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.

17 Poomiyin ellaikalaiyellaam thittampannnnineer; kotaikaalaththaiyum maarikaalaththaiyum unndaakkineer. Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.

18 Karththaavae, saththuru ummai ninthiththathaiyum, mathiyeena janangal umathu naamaththaith thooshiththathaiyum ninaiththukkollum. Remember this, that the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.

19 Umathu kaattuppuraavin aaththumaavaith thushdarutaiya koottaththirku oppukkodaathaeyum; umathu aelaikalin koottaththai entaikkum maravaathaeyum. O deliver not the soul of thy turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.

20 Ummutaiya udanpatikkaiyai ninaiththarulum; poomiyin irulaana idangal kodumaiyulla kutiyiruppukalaal nirainthirukkirathae. Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.

21 Thunpappattavan vetkaththotae thirumpavidaathirum; siraுmaiyum elimaiyumaanavan umathu naamaththaith thuthikkumpati seyyum. O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.

22 Thaevanae eluntharulum, umakkaaka neerae valakkaadum; mathiyeenanaalae naatooraுm umakku varum ninthaiyai ninaiththukkollum. Arise, O God, plead thine own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.

23 Ummutaiya saththurukkalin aaravaaraththai maravaathaeyum; umakku virothamaay elumpukiravarkalin amali eppoluthum athikarikkirathu. Forget not the voice of thine enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against thee increaseth continually.
