לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ To the chief Musician, nāṣaḥ אַל תַּשְׁחֵ֗ת Al-taschith, ʾal tašḥēt לְדָוִ֥ד of David. dāwid מִכְתָּֽם׃ Michtam miktām

הַֽאֻמְנָ֗ם Do ye indeed ʾumnām אֵ֣לֶם O congregation? ʾēlem צֶ֭דֶק righteousness, ṣedeq תְּדַבֵּר֑וּן speak dābar מֵישָׁרִ֥ים uprightly, mêšār תִּ֝שְׁפְּט֗וּ do ye judge šāpaṭ בְּנֵ֣י O ye sons bēn אָדָֽם׃ of men? ʾādām

אַף Yea, ʾap בְּלֵב֮ in heart lēb עוֹלֹ֪ת wickedness; ʿewel תִּפְעָ֫ל֥וּן ye work pāʿal בָּאָ֡רֶץ in the earth. ʾereṣ חֲמַ֥ס the violence ḥāmās יְ֝דֵיכֶ֗ם of your hands yād תְּפַלֵּֽסֽוּן׃ ye weigh pālas

זֹ֣רוּ are estranged zûr רְשָׁעִ֣ים The wicked rāšāʿ מֵרָ֑חֶם from the womb: reḥem תָּע֥וּ they go astray tāʿâ מִ֝בֶּ֗טֶן as soon as they be born, beṭen דֹּבְרֵ֥י speaking dābar כָזָֽב׃ lies. kāzāb

חֲמַת Their poison ḥēmâ לָ֗מוֹ כִּדְמ֥וּת like dĕmût חֲמַת the poison ḥēmâ נָחָ֑שׁ of a serpent: nāḥoš כְּמוֹ like kĕmô פֶ֥תֶן adder peten חֵ֝רֵ֗שׁ the deaf ḥērēš יַאְטֵ֥ם stoppeth ʾāṭam אָזְנֽוֹ׃ her ear; ʾōzen

אֲשֶׁ֣ר Which ʾăšer לֹא will not lōʾ יִ֭שְׁמַע hearken šāmaʿ לְק֣וֹל to the voice qôl מְלַחֲשִׁ֑ים of charmers, lāḥaš חוֹבֵ֖ר charming ḥābar חֲבָרִ֣ים ḥeber מְחֻכָּֽם׃ never so wisely. ḥākam

אֱֽלֹהִ֗ים O God, ʾĕlōhîm הֲרָס Break hāras שִׁנֵּ֥ימוֹ their teeth, šēn בְּפִ֑ימוֹ in their mouth: pe מַלְתְּע֥וֹת the great teeth maltāʿâ כְּ֝פִירִ֗ים of the young lions, kĕpîr נְתֹ֣ץ׀ break out nātaṣ יְהוָֽה׃ O Lord. yĕhōwâ

יִמָּאֲס֣וּ Let them melt away māʾas כְמוֹ as kĕmô מַ֭יִם waters mayim יִתְהַלְּכוּ run continually: hālak לָ֑מוֹ יִדְרֹ֥ךְ he bendeth dārak חִ֝צָּ֗ו his arrows, ḥēṣ כְּמ֣וֹ let them be as kĕmô יִתְמֹלָֽלוּ׃ cut in pieces. mûl

כְּמ֣וֹ As kĕmô שַׁ֭בְּלוּל a snail šablûl תֶּ֣מֶס melteth, temes יַהֲלֹ֑ךְ let pass away: hālak נֵ֥פֶל the untimely birth nepel אֵ֝֗שֶׁת of a woman, ʾiššâ בַּל they may not bal חָ֥זוּ see ḥāzâ שָֽׁמֶשׁ׃ the sun. šemeš

בְּטֶ֤רֶם׀ Before ṭerem יָבִ֣ינוּ can feel bîn סִּירֹֽתֵכֶ֣ם your pots sîr אָטָ֑ד the thorns, ʾāṭād כְּמוֹ both kĕmô חַ֥י living, ḥay כְּמוֹ and in kĕmô חָ֝ר֗וֹן wrath. ḥārôn יִשְׂעָרֶֽנּוּ׃ he shall take them away as with a whirlwind, śāʿar

יִשְׂמַ֣ח shall rejoice śāmaḥ צַ֭דִּיק The righteous ṣaddîq כִּי when kî חָזָ֣ה he seeth ḥāzâ נָקָ֑ם the vengeance: nāqām פְּעָמָ֥יו his feet paʿam יִ֝רְחַ֗ץ he shall wash rāḥaṣ בְּדַ֣ם in the blood dām הָרָשָֽׁע׃ of the wicked. rāšāʿ

וְיֹאמַ֣ר shall say, ʾāmar אָ֭דָם So that a man ʾādām אַךְ Verily ʾak פְּרִ֣י a reward pĕrî לַצַּדִּ֑יק for the righteous: ṣaddîq אַ֥ךְ verily ʾak יֵשׁ he is yēš אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים a God ʾĕlōhîm שֹׁפְטִ֥ים that judgeth šāpaṭ בָּאָֽרֶץ׃ in the earth. ʾereṣ
