לַמְנַצֵּ֣חַ To the chief Musician, nāṣaḥ אַל תַּ֭שְׁחֵת Al-taschith, ʾal tašḥēt לְדָוִ֣ד of David, dāwid מִכְתָּ֑ם Michtam miktām בְּבָרְח֥וֹ when he fled bāraḥ מִפְּנֵי from pānîm שָׁ֝א֗וּל Saul šāʾûl בַּמְּעָרָֽה׃ in the cave. mĕʿārâ

חָנֵּ֤נִי Be merciful ḥānan אֱלֹהִ֨ים׀ unto me, O God, ʾĕlōhîm חָנֵּ֗נִי be merciful ḥānan כִּ֥י unto me: for kî בְךָ֮ חָסָ֪יָה trusteth ḥāsâ נַ֫פְשִׁ֥י my soul nepeš וּבְצֵֽל in thee: yea, in the shadow ṣēl כְּנָפֶ֥יךָ of thy wings kānāp אֶחְסֶ֑ה will I make my refuge, ḥāsâ עַ֝֗ד until ʿad יַעֲבֹ֥ר be overpast. ʿābar הַוּֽוֹת׃ calamities hawwâ

אֶ֭קְרָא I will cry qārāʾ לֵֽאלֹהִ֣ים unto God ʾĕlōhîm עֶלְי֑וֹן most high; ʿelyôn לָ֝אֵ֗ל unto God ʾēl גֹּמֵ֥ר that performeth gāmar עָלָֽי׃ for me. ʿal

יִשְׁלַ֤ח He shall send šālaḥ מִשָּׁמַ֨יִם׀ from heaven, šāmayim וְֽיוֹשִׁיעֵ֗נִי and save yāšaʿ חֵרֵ֣ף me the reproach ḥārap שֹׁאֲפִ֣י of him that would swallow me up. šāʾap סֶ֑לָה Selah. selâ יִשְׁלַ֥ח shall send forth šālaḥ אֱ֝לֹהִ֗ים God ʾĕlōhîm חַסְדּ֥וֹ his mercy ḥēsēd וַאֲמִתּֽוֹ׃ and his truth. ʾemet

נַפְשִׁ֤י׀ My soul nepeš בְּת֥וֹךְ among tāwek לְבָאִם֮ lions: lābîʾ אֶשְׁכְּבָ֪ה I lie šākab לֹ֫הֲטִ֥ים them that are set on fire, lāhaṭ בְּֽנֵי the sons bēn אָדָ֗ם of men, ʾādām שִׁ֭נֵּיהֶם whose teeth šēn חֲנִ֣ית spears ḥănît וְחִצִּ֑ים and arrows, ḥēṣ וּ֝לְשׁוֹנָ֗ם and their tongue lāšôn חֶ֣רֶב sword. ḥereb חַדָּֽה׃ a sharp ḥad

ר֣וּמָה Be thou exalted, rûm עַל above ʿal הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם the heavens; šāmayim אֱלֹהִ֑ים O God, ʾĕlōhîm עַ֖ל above ʿal כָּל all kōl הָאָ֣רֶץ the earth. ʾereṣ כְּבוֹדֶֽךָ׃ thy glory kābôd

רֶ֤שֶׁת׀ a net rešet הֵכִ֣ינוּ They have prepared kûn לִפְעָמַי֮ for my steps; paʿam כָּפַ֪ף is bowed down: kāpap נַ֫פְשִׁ֥י my soul nepeš כָּר֣וּ they have digged kārâ לְפָנַ֣י before pānîm שִׁיחָ֑ה a pit šîḥâ נָפְל֖וּ whereof they are fallen nāpal בְתוֹכָ֣הּ me, into the midst tāwek סֶֽלָה׃ Selah. selâ

נָ֘כ֤וֹן is fixed, kûn לִבִּ֣י My heart lēb אֱ֭לֹהִים O God, ʾĕlōhîm נָכ֣וֹן is fixed: kûn לִבִּ֑י my heart lēb אָ֝שִׁ֗ירָה I will sing šîr וַאֲזַמֵּֽרָה׃ and give praise. zāmar

ע֤וּרָה Awake up, ʿûr כְבוֹדִ֗י my glory; kābôd ע֭וּרָֽה awake, ʿûr הַנֵּ֥בֶל psaltery nebel וְכִנּ֗וֹר and harp: kinnôr אָעִ֥ירָה I will awake ʿûr שָּֽׁחַר׃ early. šaḥar

אוֹדְךָ֖ I will praise yādâ בָעַמִּ֥ים׀ among the people: ʿam אֲדֹנָ֑י thee, O Lord, ʾădōnāy אֲ֝זַמֶּרְךָ֗ I will sing zāmar בַּלְאֻמִּֽים׃ unto thee among the nations. lĕʾōm

כִּֽי For kî גָדֹ֣ל great gādôl עַד unto ʿad שָׁמַ֣יִם the heavens, šāmayim חַסְדֶּ֑ךָ thy mercy ḥēsēd וְֽעַד unto ʿad שְׁחָקִ֥ים the clouds. šaḥaq אֲמִתֶּֽךָ׃ and thy truth ʾemet
