Jeremiah 24:8
ମାତ୍ର ଯିହୁଦାର ରାଜା ସିଦିକିଯ ସହେି ଅତି ମନ୍ଦ ଡ଼ିମ୍ବିରି ଫଳ ସଦୃଶ। ତେଣୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି, ଆମ୍ଭେ ନିଶ୍ଚଯ ସିଦିକିଯକୁ, ତାହାର ଅଧିପତିଗଣକୁ ଓ ୟିରୁଶାଲମର ଯେଉଁ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟାଂଶ ଲୋକେ ଏହି ଦେଶ ରେ ଅଛନ୍ତି, ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଓ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ମିଶର ଦେଶ ରେ ବାସ କରନ୍ତି, ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତ୍ଯାଗ କରିବା।

ଅନନ୍ତର ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ବାକ୍ଯ ମାେ ନିକଟରେ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ହେଲା। ସେ କହିଲେ,

ସିଦିକିଯର ରାଜତ୍ବର ଏକାଦଶ ବର୍ଷର ଚତୁର୍ଥ ମାସର ନବମ ଦିନ ରେ ଏହି ନଗରର ପ୍ରାଚୀର ଭଙ୍ଗାଗଲା ଓ ୟିରୁଶାଲମକୁ କରଗତ କରାଗଲା।

ଆଉ ଯଦି ତୁମ୍ଭେ ବାହାରି ବାବିଲ ରାଜାଙ୍କ ଅଧିପତିମାନଙ୍କ ଅଧୀନତା ସ୍ବୀକାର ନ କରିବ, ତବେେ ଏହି ନଗର କଲଦୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ରେ ସମର୍ପିତ ହବେ ଓ ସମାନେେ ଅଗ୍ନି ରେ ଏହାକୁ ଦଗ୍ଧ କରିବେ। ଆଉ ତୁମ୍ଭେ ସମାନଙ୍କେ ହସ୍ତରୁ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଇବ ନାହିଁ।
Jeremiah 37:17
ତାହାପ ରେ ସିଦିକିଯ ରାଜା ଲୋକ ପଠାଇ ତାହାକୁ ଅଣାଇଲା। ଆଉ ରାଜା ନିଜ ଗୃହ ରେ ଗୋପନ ରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରିଲେ, ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁଙ୍କ ନିକଟରୁ କୌଣସି ବାକ୍ଯ ଆସିଅଛି କି ?

ହେ ୟିରୁଶାଲମ ନିବାସୀ, ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ କଲଦୀଯର ସମୁଦାଯ ସୈନ୍ଯଙ୍କୁ ପରାସ୍ତ କଲେ ହେଁ, ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ଆହତ ସୈନ୍ଯମାନେ ନିଜ ନିଜ ତମ୍ବୁରୁ ବାହାରି ଏହି ନଗରକୁ ଅଗ୍ନି ରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ କରିବେ।

'ଏଣୁ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି, 'ତୁମ୍ଭମାନେେ ଆପଣା ପ୍ରତିବେଶୀଙ୍କୁ ମୁକ୍ତ ଦବୋ ପାଇଁ' ଆମ୍ଭ ନିଯମର ପାଳନ କରି ନାହଁ। ଏଣୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିରୁଦ୍ଧ ରେ ଖଡ୍ଗ, ଦୁର୍ଭିକ୍ଷ ଓ ମହାମାରୀ ପଠାଇ ବିନାଶ କରିବା ଓ ପୃଥିବୀର ସମସ୍ତ ରାଜ୍ଯ ଆତଙ୍କିତ ହବେ, ଯାହା ଆମ୍ଭେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ କରିବା।

ପୁଣି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହା ମଧ୍ଯ କହିଲେ, ଦେଖ, ଆମ୍ଭେ କଲଦୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ହସ୍ତ ରେ ଓ ବାବିଲର ରାଜା ନବୂଖଦନିତ୍ସରର ହସ୍ତ ରେ ଏହି ନଗର ସମର୍ପଣ କରିବା। ସେ ତାହା ହସ୍ତଗତ କରିବେ।

ତୁମ୍ଭ ସହିତ ବାବିଲକୁ ବନ୍ଦୀ ହାଇେ ଆସି ନ ଥିବା ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଭ୍ରାତୃଗଣ ବିଷଯ ରେ ଓ ଦାଉଦର ସିଂହାସନ ରେ ଉପବିଷ୍ଟ ରାଜା ବିଷଯ ରେ ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଏହି କଥା କହନ୍ତି।

ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ ଇଶ୍ରାୟେଲର ପରମେଶ୍ବର ଏହିକଥା କହନ୍ତି, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ଯିହୁଦାର ବନ୍ଦୀରୂପେ ନିଆଗେଲ, ଏହିସବୁ ଉତ୍ତମ ଡ଼ିମିରି ତୁଲ୍ଯ। ମୁଁ ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଉତ୍ତମ ବୋଲି ବିବଚେନା କରିବି। ଯେଉଁମାନଙ୍କୁ ମୁଁ ଏହି ସ୍ଥାନରୁ କଲଦୀଯମାନଙ୍କ ଭୂମିକୁ ତଡ଼ି ଦଇେଛି।
Jeremiah 21:10
ପୁଣି ସଦାପ୍ରଭୁ କହନ୍ତି ମଙ୍ଗଳ ପାଇଁ ନୁହେଁ, ଅମଙ୍ଗଳ ଘଟାଇବା ପାଇଁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ସ୍ଥିର କରିଅଛୁ।ଏହି ନଗରକୁ ଆମ୍ଭେ ବାବିଲ ରାଜା ହସ୍ତ ରେ ଅର୍ପଣ କରିବା ଓ ସେ ଏହାକୁ ଅଗ୍ନି ରେ ଦଗ୍ଧ କରିବ।'
