1 இவைகளுக்குப் பின்பு, யெஸ்ரயேலனாகிய நாபோத்துக்கு யெஸ்ரயேலிலே சமாரியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆகாபின் அரமனை அண்டையில் ஒரு திராட்சத்தோட்டம் இருந்தது. And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

2 ஆகாப் நாபோத்தோடே பேசி: உன் திராட்சத்தோட்டம் என் வீட்டிற்கு அடுத்திருக்கிறபடியால், அதைக் கீரைக்கொல்லையாக்கும்படி எனக்குக் கொடு, அதைப்பார்க்கிலும் நல்ல திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தை அதற்குப் பதிலாக உனக்குத் தருவேன்; அல்லது உனக்கு வேண்டுமானால், அதின் விலைக்கிரயமான பணத்தைத் தருவேன் என்றான். And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money.

4 இப்படி என் பிதாக்களின் சுதந்தரத்தை உமக்குக் கொடேன் என்று யெஸ்ரயேலனாகிய நாபோத் தன்னோடே சொன்ன வார்த்தைக்காக ஆகாப் சலிப்பும் சினமுமாய், தன் வீட்டிற்கு வந்து, போஜனம்பண்ணாமல், தன் கட்டிலின் மேல் படுத்து, தன் முகத்தைத் திருப்பிக் கொண்டிருந்தான். And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.

5 அப்பொழுது அவன் மனைவியாகிய யேசபேல் அவனிடத்தில் வந்து: நீர் போஜனம்பண்ணாதபடிக்கு, உம்முடைய மனம் சலிப்பாயிருக்கிறது என்ன என்று அவனைக் கேட்டதற்கு, But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?

And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.

And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.

And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.

11 அவன் பட்டணத்திலே குடியிருக்கிற மூப்பரும் பெரியோருமாகிய அவன் பட்டணத்து மனுஷர், யேசபேல் தங்களுக்கு அனுப்பின நிருபங்களில் எழுதிக்கட்டளையிட்டிருந்தபடியே செய்தார்கள். And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.

12 அவர்கள் உபவாசம் என்று பிரசித்தப்படுத்தி நாபோத்தை ஜனத்தின் முன்னே நிறுத்தினார்கள். They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.

13 அப்பொழுது பேலியாளின் மக்களாகிய இரண்டு பேர் வந்து, அவனுக்கு எதிராக உட்கார்ந்து: நாபோத் தேவனையும் ராஜாவையும் தூஷித்தான் என்று ஜனத்திற்கு முன்பாக அவன்மேல் சாட்சி சொன்னார்கள்; அதற்குப்பின்பு அவனைப் பட்டணத்திற்கு வெளியே கொண்டு போய், அவன் சாகும்படிக்கு அவனைக் கல்லெறிந்து, And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.

14 பிற்பாடு யேசபேலுக்கு, நாபோத் கல்லெறியுண்டு செத்தான் என்று சொல்லியனுப்பினார்கள். Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.

15 நாபோத் கல்லெறியுண்டு செத்ததை யேசபேல் கேட்டபோது, ஆகாபை நோக்கி: நீர் எழுந்திருந்து, யெஸ்ரயேலனாகிய நாபோத் உமக்கு விலைக்கிரயமாய்க் கொடுக்கமாட்டேன் என்று சொன்ன திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தைச் சொந்தமாய் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும்; நாபோத் உயிரோடில்லை, அவன் செத்துப்போனான் என்றாள். And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.

16 நாபோத் செத்துப்போனதை ஆகாப் கேட்டபோது, அவன் யெஸ்ரயேலனாகிய நாபோத்தின் திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தைச் சொந்தமாய் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளும்படி எழுந்துபோனான். And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.

17 கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை திஸ்பியனாகிய எலியாவுக்கு உண்டாயிற்று, அவர்: And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

18 நீ எழுந்து, சமாரியாவிலிருக்கிற இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவாகிய ஆகாபைச் சந்திக்கும்படி போ; இதோ, அவன் நாபோத்தின் திராட்சத்தோட்டத்தைச் சொந்தமாய் எடுத்துக்கொள்ள அங்கே போயிருக்கிறான். Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.

19 நீ அவனைப் பார்த்து: நீ கொலை செய்ததும் எடுத்துக்கொண்டதும் இல்லையோ என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்; நாய்கள் நாபோத்தின் இரத்தத்தை நக்கின ஸ்தலத்திலே உன்னுடைய இரத்தத்தையும் நாய்கள் நக்கும் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார். And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.

20 அப்பொழுது ஆகாப் எலியாவை நோக்கி: என் பகைஞனே, என்னைக் கண்டுபிடித்தாயா என்றான். அதற்கு அவன்: கண்டுபிடித்தேன்; கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்ய நீ உன்னை விற்றுப்போட்டாய். And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.

21 நான் உன்மேல் பொல்லாப்பு வரப்பண்ணி, உன் சந்ததியை அழித்துப்போட்டு, ஆகாபுக்கு சுவரில் நீர்விடும் ஒரு நாயாகிலும் இராதபடிக்கு இஸ்ரவேலில் அடைபட்டவனையும் விடுபட்டவனையும் சங்கரித்து, Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,

22 நீ எனக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்கி, இஸ்ரவேலைப் பாவஞ்செய்யப்பண்ணினதினிமித்தம், உன்னுடைய குடும்பத்தை நேபாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய யெரொபெயாமின் குடும்பத்துக்கும், அகியாவின் குமாரனாகிய பாஷாவின் குடும்பத்துக்கும் சமானமாக்குவேன் என்றார் என்று சொன்னான். And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin.

23 யேசபேலையும் குறித்துக் கர்த்தர்: நாய்கள் யேசபேலை யெஸ்ரயேலின் மதில் அருகே தின்னும். And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel.

24 ஆகாபின் சந்ததியில் பட்டணத்திலே, சாகிறவனை நாய்களும், வெளியிலே சாகிறவனை ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளும் தின்னும் என்றார். Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.

25 தன் மனைவியாகிய யேசபேல் தூண்டிவிட்டபடியே, கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்ய, தன்னை விற்றுப்போட்ட ஆகாபைப்போல ஒருவனுமில்லை. But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.

26 கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கு முன்னின்று துரத்திவிட்ட எமோரியர் செய்தபடியெல்லாம், அவன் நரகலான விக்கிரகங்களைப் பின்பற்றி, மகா அருவருப்பாய் நடந்துகொண்டான். And he did very abominably in following idols, according to all things as did the Amorites, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

27 ஆகாப் இந்த வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டபோது, தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்து, தன் சரீரத்தின்மேல் இரட்டைப்போர்த்துக்கொண்டு, உபவாசம்பண்ணி, இரட்டிலே படுத்துத் தாழ்மையாய் நடந்துகொண்டான். And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

28 அப்பொழுது கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை திஸ்பியனாகிய எலியாவுக்கு உண்டாயிற்று, அவர்: And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

29 ஆகாப் எனக்கு முன்பாகத் தன்னைத் தாழ்த்தினதைக் கண்டாயா? அவன் எனக்கு முன்பாகத் தன்னைத் தாழ்த்துகிறபடியினால், நான் அவன் நாட்களில் அந்தப் பொல்லப்பை வரப்பண்ணாமல், அவன் குமாரன் நாட்களில் அதை அவன் வீட்டின்மேல் வரப்பண்ணுவேன் என்றார். Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son's days will I bring the evil upon his house.

And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

4 Ippati en pithaakkalin suthantharaththai umakkuk kotaen entu yesrayaelanaakiya naapoth thannotae sonna vaarththaikkaaka aakaap salippum sinamumaay, than veettirku vanthu, pojanampannnnaamal, than kattilin mael paduththu, than mukaththaith thiruppik konntirunthaan. And Ahab came into his house heavy and displeased because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken to him: for he had said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and would eat no bread.

5 Appoluthu avan manaiviyaakiya yaesapael avanidaththil vanthu: neer pojanampannnnaathapatikku, ummutaiya manam salippaayirukkirathu enna entu avanaik kaettatharku, But Jezebel his wife came to him, and said unto him, Why is thy spirit so sad, that thou eatest no bread?

6 Avan avalaip paarththu: naan yesrayaelanaakiya naapoththotae paesi: un thiraatchaththottaththai enakku vilaikkirayamaaykkodu; allathu unakku raasiyaanaal atharkup pathilaaka vaeraே thiraatchaththottaththai unakkuth tharuvaen enten. Atharku avan: en thiraatchaththottaththai umakkuk kodukkamaattaேn entu sonnaan entan. And he said unto her, Because I spake unto Naboth the Jezreelite, and said unto him, Give me thy vineyard for money; or else, if it please thee, I will give thee another vineyard for it: and he answered, I will not give thee my vineyard.

Neer elunthu pojanam pannnni manamakilchchiyaayirum; yesrayaelanaakiya naapoththin thiraatchaththottaththai naan umakkuk koduppaen entu sonnaal. And Jezebel his wife said unto him, Dost thou now govern the kingdom of Israel? arise, and eat bread, and let thine heart be merry: I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.

8 Aval aakaapin peyaraal nirupangalai eluthi, avan muththiraiyai avaikalukkup pottu, antha nirupangalai naapoth irukkum pattanaththil avanotae kutiyirukkira moopparidaththukkum periyoridaththukkum anuppinaal. So she wrote letters in Ahab's name, and sealed them with his seal, and sent the letters unto the elders and to the nobles that were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.

9 Antha nirupangalil aval eluthinathu ennavental: neengal upavaasam entu pirasiththappaduththi, naapoththai janaththin mun niraுththi, And she wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaim a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people:

10 Thaevanaiyum raajaavaiyum thooshiththaay entu avanmael saatchisollukira paeliyaalin makkalaakiya iranndu paerai avanukku ethiraaka niraுththi, avanai veliyae konndupoy avan saakumpatikku avanaik kalleriyungal entu eluthinaal. And set two men, sons of Belial, before him, to bear witness against him, saying, Thou didst blaspheme God and the king. And then carry him out, and stone him, that he may die.

11 Avan pattanaththilae kutiyirukkira moopparum periyorumaakiya avan pattanaththu manushar, yaesapael thangalukku anuppina nirupangalil eluthikkattalaiyittirunthapatiyae seythaarkal. And the men of his city, even the elders and the nobles who were the inhabitants in his city, did as Jezebel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them.

12 Avarkal upavaasam entu pirasiththappaduththi naapoththai janaththin munnae niraுththinaarkal. They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth on high among the people.

13 Appoluthu paeliyaalin makkalaakiya iranndu paer vanthu, avanukku ethiraaka utkaarnthu: naapoth thaevanaiyum raajaavaiyum thooshiththaan entu janaththirku munpaaka avanmael saatchi sonnaarkal; atharkuppinpu avanaip pattanaththirku veliyae konndu poy, avan saakumpatikku avanaik kallerinthu, And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.

14 Pirpaadu yaesapaelukku, naapoth kalleriyunndu seththaan entu solliyanuppinaarkal. Then they sent to Jezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned, and is dead.

15 Naapoth kalleriyunndu seththathai yaesapael kaettapothu, aakaapai Nnokki: neer elunthirunthu, yesrayaelanaakiya naapoth umakku vilaikkirayamaayk kodukkamaattaேn entu sonna thiraatchaththottaththaich sonthamaay eduththukkollum; naapoth uyirotillai, avan seththupponaan ental. And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned, and was dead, that Jezebel said to Ahab, Arise, take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for money: for Naboth is not alive, but dead.

16 Naapoth seththupponathai aakaap kaettapothu, avan yesrayaelanaakiya naapoththin thiraatchaththottaththaich sonthamaay eduththukkollumpati elunthuponaan. And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab rose up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession of it.

17 Karththarutaiya vaarththai thispiyanaakiya eliyaavukku unndaayittaு, avar: And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

18 Nee elunthu, samaariyaavilirukkira isravaelin raajaavaakiya aakaapaich santhikkumpati po; itho, avan naapoththin thiraatchaththottaththaich sonthamaay eduththukkolla angae poyirukkiraan. Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria: behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he is gone down to possess it.

19 Nee avanaip paarththu: nee kolai seythathum eduththukkonndathum illaiyo entu Karththar sollukiraar; naaykal naapoththin iraththaththai nakkina sthalaththilae unnutaiya iraththaththaiyum naaykal nakkum entu Karththar sollukiraar entu sol entar. And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Hast thou killed, and also taken possession? And thou shalt speak unto him, saying, Thus saith the LORD, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth shall dogs lick thy blood, even thine.

20 Appoluthu aakaap eliyaavai Nnokki: en pakainjanae, ennaik kanndupitiththaayaa entan. Atharku avan: kanndupitiththaen; karththarin paarvaikkup pollaappaanathaich seyya nee unnai vittaுppottay. And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD.

21 Naan unmael pollaappu varappannnni, un santhathiyai aliththuppottu, aakaapukku suvaril neervidum oru naayaakilum iraathapatikku isravaelil ataipattavanaiyum vidupattavanaiyum sangariththu, Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel,

22 Nee enakkuk kopam unndaakki, isravaelaip paavanjaெyyappannnninathinimiththam, unnutaiya kudumpaththai naepaaththin kumaaranaakiya yeropeyaamin kudumpaththukkum, akiyaavin kumaaranaakiya paashaavin kudumpaththukkum samaanamaakkuvaen entar entu sonnaan. 24 Aakaapin santhathiyil pattanaththilae, saakiravanai naaykalum, veliyilae saakiravanai aakaayaththup paravaikalum thinnum entar. Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat.

25 Than manaiviyaakiya yaesapael thoonntivittapatiyae, karththarin paarvaikkup pollaappaanathaich seyya, thannai vittaுppotta aakaapaippola oruvanumillai. But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.

26 Karththar Israel puththirarukku munnintu thuraththivitta emoriyar seythapatiyellaam, avan narakalaana vikkirakangalaip pinpatti, makaa aruvaruppaay nadanthukonndaan. 27 Aakaap intha vaarththaikalaik kaettapothu, than vasthirangalaik kiliththu, than sareeraththinmael irattaைpporththukkonndu, upavaasampannnni, irattilae paduththuth thaalmaiyaay nadanthukonndaan. And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

28 Appoluthu karththarutaiya vaarththai thispiyanaakiya eliyaavukku unndaayittaு, avar: And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,

29 Aakaap enakku munpaakath thannaith thaalththinathaik kanndaayaa?
