1 Kings 19 in Tamil

1 எலியா செய்த எல்லாவற்றையும், அவன் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளெல்லாரையும் பட்டயத்தாலே கொன்றுபோட்ட செய்தி அனைத்தையும், ஆகாப் யேசபேலுக்கு அறிவித்தான். And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.

2 அப்பொழுது யேசபேல் எலியாவினிடத்தில் ஆள் அனுப்பி: அவர்களில் ஒவ்வொருவனுடைய பிராணனுக்குச் செய்யப்பட்டதுபோல, நான் நாளை இந்நேரத்தில் உன் பிராணனுக்கு செய்யாதேபோனால், தேவர்கள் அதற்குச் சரியாகவும் அதற்கு அதிகமாகவும் எனக்குச் செய்யக்கடவர்கள் என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னாள். Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.

5 ஒரு சூரைச்செடியின்கீழ்ப் படுத்துக்கொண்டு நித்திரைபண்ணினான்; அப்பொழுது ஒரு தூதன் அவனைத் தட்டியெழுப்பி: எழுந்திருந்து போஜனம் பண்ணு என்றான். And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.

6 அவன் விழித்துப் பார்க்கிறபோது, இதோ, தழலில் சுடப்பட்ட அடையும், ஒரு பாத்திரத்தில் தண்ணீரும் அவன் தலைமாட்டில் இருந்தது; அப்பொழுது அவன், புசித்துக் குடித்துத் திரும்பப் படுத்துக்கொண்டான். And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.

7 கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் திரும்ப இரண்டாந்தரம் வந்து அவனைத் தட்டியெழுப்பி: எழுந்திருந்து போஜனம்பண்ணு; நீ பண்ணவேண்டிய பிரயாணம் வெகுதூரம் என்றான். And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.

8 அப்பொழுது அவன் எழுந்திருந்து புசித்துக் குடித்து, அந்தப் போஜனத்தின் பலத்தினால் நாற்பதுநாள் இரவுபகல் ஓரேப் என்னும் தேவனுடைய பர்வத மட்டும் நடந்துபோனான். And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.

9 அங்கே அவன் ஒரு கெபிக்குள் போய்த் தங்கினான்; இதோ, கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை அவனுக்கு உண்டாகி, அவர்: எலியாவே, இங்கே உனக்கு என்ன காரியம் என்றார். And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?

And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

11 அப்பொழுது அவர்: நீ வெளியே வந்து கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகப் பர்வதத்தில் நில் என்றார்; அப்பொழுது, இதோ, கர்த்தர் கடந்துபோனார்; கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகப் பர்வதங்களைப் பிளக்கிறதும் கன்மலைகளை உடைக்கிறதுமான பலத்த பெருங்காற்று உண்டாயிற்று; ஆனாலும் அந்தக் காற்றிலே கர்த்தர் இருக்கவில்லை; காற்றிற்குப்பின் பூமி அதிர்ச்சி உண்டாயிற்று; பூமி அதிர்ச்சியிலும் கர்த்தர் இருக்கவில்லை. And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake:

12 பூமி அதிர்ச்சிக்குப்பின் அக்கினி உண்டாயிற்று; அக்கினியிலும் கர்த்தர் இருக்கவில்லை; அக்கினிக்குப்பின் அமர்ந்த மெல்லியசத்தம் உண்டாயிற்று. And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

13 அதை எலியா கேட்டபோது, தன் சால்வையினால் தன் முகத்தை மூடிக்கொண்டு வெளியே வந்து, கெபியின் வாசலில் நின்றான். அப்பொழுது, இதோ, எலியாவே, இங்கே உனக்கு என்ன காரியம் என்கிற சத்தம் அவனுக்கு உண்டாயிற்று. And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?

And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: because the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

15 அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் அவனைப் பார்த்து: நீ தமஸ்குவின் வழியாய் வனாந்தரத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப் போய், ஆசகேலைச் சீரியாவின்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம் பண்ணி, And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria:

16 பின்பு நிம்சியின் குமாரனாகிய யெகூவை இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம்பண்ணி, ஆபேல்மேகொலா ஊரானான சாப்பாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய எலிசாவை உன் ஸ்தானத்திலே தீர்க்கதரிசியாக அபிஷேகம்பண்ணு. And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.

17 சம்பவிப்பதாவது: ஆசகேலின் பட்டயத்திற்குத் தப்பினவனை யெகூ கொன்றுபோடுவான்; யெகூவின் பட்டயத்திற்குத் தப்பினவனை எலிசா கொன்று போடுவான். And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.

18 ஆனாலும் பாகாலுக்கு முடங்காதிருக்கிற முழங்கால்களையும், அவனை முத்தஞ்செய்யாதிருக்கிற வாய்களையுமுடைய ஏழாயிரம்பேரை இஸ்ரவேலிலே மீதியாக வைத்திருக்கிறேன் என்றார். Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

19 அப்படியே அவன் அவ்விடம் விட்டு புறப்பட்டுப்போய், பன்னிரண்டு ஏர்பூட்டி உழுத சாப்பாத்தின் குமாரனாகிய எலிசாவைக் கண்டான்; அவன் பன்னிரண்டாம் ஏரை ஒட்டிக்கொண்டிருந்தான்; எலியா அவன் இருக்கும் இடமட்டும் போய், அவன்மேல் தன் சால்வையைப் போட்டான். So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.

20 அப்பொழுது அவன் மாடுகளை விட்டு, எலியாவின் பிறகே ஓடி: நான் என் தகப்பனையும் என் தாயையும் முத்தஞ்செய்ய உத்தரவுகொடும், அதற்குப்பின் உம்மைப் பின்தொடர்வேன் என்றான். அதற்கு அவன்: போய்த் திரும்பிவா; நான் உனக்குச் செய்ததை நினைத்துக் கொள் என்றான். And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?

21 அப்பொழுது அவன் இவனை விட்டுப் போய், ஓர் ஏர்மாடுகளைப் பிடித்து அடித்து, ஏரின் மரமுட்டுகளால் அவைகளின் இறைச்சியைச் சமைத்து ஜனங்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தான்; அவர்கள் சாப்பிட்டபிற்பாடு, அவன் எழுந்து, எலியாவுக்குப் பின்சென்று அவனுக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்தான். And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat. Then he arose, and went after Elijah, and ministered unto him.

1 Eliyaa seytha ellaavattaைyum, avan theerkkatharisikalellaaraiyum pattayaththaalae kontupotta seythi anaiththaiyum, aakaap yaesapaelukku ariviththaan. And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.

2 Appoluthu yaesapael eliyaavinidaththil aal anuppi: avarkalil ovvoruvanutaiya piraananukkuch seyyappattathupola, naan naalai innaeraththil un piraananukku seyyaathaeponaal, thaevarkal atharkuch sariyaakavum atharku athikamaakavum enakkuch seyyakkadavarkal entu sollachchaொnnaal. Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.

3 Avanukku athu therinthapothu elunthu, than piraananaik kaakka yoothaavaichchaேrntha peyersepaavukkup purappattuppoy, than vaelaikkaaranai angae niraுththivittan. And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.

4 Avan vanaantharaththil orunaal pirapaanam poy, oru sooraichchetiyin geel utkaarnthu, thaan saakavaenndum entu kori: pothum karththaavae, en aaththumaavai eduththukkollum; naan en pithaakkalaippaarkkilum nallavan alla entu solli, But he himself went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.

5 Oru sooraichchetiyingeelp paduththukkonndu niththiraipannnninaan; appoluthu oru thoothan avanaith thattiyeluppi: elunthirunthu pojanam pannnu entan. And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat.

6 Avan viliththup paarkkirapothu, itho, thalalil sudappatta ataiyum, oru paaththiraththil thannnneerum avan thalaimaattil irunthathu; appoluthu avan, pusiththuk kutiththuth thirumpap paduththukkonndaan. And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.

7 Karththarutaiya thoothan thirumpa iranndaantharam vanthu avanaith thattiyeluppi: elunthirunthu pojanampannnu; nee pannnavaenntiya pirayaanam vekuthooram entan. And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee.

8 Appoluthu avan elunthirunthu pusiththuk kutiththu, anthap pojanaththin palaththinaal naarpathunaal iravupakal oraep ennum thaevanutaiya parvatha mattum nadanthuponaan. And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the mount of God.

9 Angae avan oru kepikkul poyth thanginaan; itho, karththarutaiya vaarththai avanukku unndaaki, avar: eliyaavae, ingae unakku enna kaariyam entar. And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of the LORD came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?

10 Atharku avan: senaikalin thaevanaakiya karththarukkaaka veku pakthivairaakkiyamaayirunthaen; Israel puththirar umathu udanpatikkaiyaith thallivittarkal; ummutaiya palipeedangalai itiththu, ummutaiya theerkkatharisikalaip pattayaththinaal kontupottarkal; naan oruvanmaaththiram meethiyaayirukkiraேn; en piraananaiyum vaangath thaedukiraarkal entan. And he said, I have been very jealous for the LORD God of hosts: for the children of Israel have forsaken thy covenant, thrown down thine altars, and slain thy prophets with the sword; and I, even I only, am left; and they seek my life, to take it away.

11 Appoluthu avar: nee veliyae vanthu karththarukku munpaakap parvathaththil nil entar; appoluthu, itho, Karththar kadanthuponaar; karththarukku munpaakap parvathangalaip pilakkirathum kanmalaikalai utaikkirathumaana palaththa perungaattaு unndaayittaு; aanaalum anthak kaattilae Karththar irukkavillai; kaattirkuppin poomi athirchchi unndaayittaு; poomi athirchchiyilum Karththar irukkavillai. And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. 12 Poomi athirchchikkuppin akkini unndaayittaு; akkiniyilum Karththar irukkavillai; akkinikkuppin amarntha melliyasaththam unndaayittaு. And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.

13 Athai eliyaa kaettapothu, than saalvaiyinaal than mukaththai mootikkonndu veliyae vanthu, kepiyin vaasalil nintan. Appoluthu, itho, eliyaavae, ingae unakku enna kaariyam enkira saththam avanukku unndaayittaு. And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah?

16 Pinpu nimsiyin kumaaranaakiya yekoovai isravaelinmael raajaavaaka apishaekampannnni, aapaelmaekolaa ooraanaana saappaaththin kumaaranaakiya elisaavai un sthaanaththilae theerkkatharisiyaaka apishaekampannnu. And Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abelmeholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.

17 Sampavippathaavathu: aasakaelin pattayaththirkuth thappinavanai yekoo kontupoduvaan; yekoovin pattayaththirkuth thappinavanai elisaa kontu poduvaan. And it shall come to pass, that him that escapeth the sword of Hazael shall Jehu slay: and him that escapeth from the sword of Jehu shall Elisha slay.

18 Aanaalum paakaalukku mudangaathirukkira mulangaalkalaiyum, avanai muththanjaெyyaathirukkira vaaykalaiyumutaiya aelaayirampaerai isravaelilae meethiyaaka vaiththirukkiraேn entar. Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him.

19 Appatiyae avan avvidam vittu purappattuppoy, panniranndu aerpootti ulutha saappaaththin kumaaranaakiya elisaavaik kanndaan; avan panniranndaam aerai ottikkonntirunthaan; eliyaa avan irukkum idamattum poy, avanmael than saalvaiyaip pottan. So he departed thence, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he with the twelfth: and Elijah passed by him, and cast his mantle upon him.

20 Appoluthu avan maadukalai vittu, eliyaavin pirakae oti: naan en thakappanaiyum en thaayaiyum muththanjaெyya uththaravukodum, atharkuppin ummaip pinthodarvaen entan. Atharku avan: poyth thirumpivaa; naan unakkuch seythathai ninaiththuk kol entan. And he left the oxen, and ran after Elijah, and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again: for what have I done to thee?

21 Appoluthu avan ivanai vittup poy, or aermaadukalaip pitiththu atiththu, aerin maramuttukalaal avaikalin iraichchiyaich samaiththu janangalukkuk koduththaan; avarkal saappittapirpaadu, avan elunthu, eliyaavukkup pinsentu avanukku ooliyanjaெythaan. And he returned back from him, and took a yoke of oxen, and slew them, and boiled their flesh with the instruments of the oxen, and gave unto the people, and they did eat.
