Judges 4
1 ഏഹൂദ് മരിച്ചശേഷം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ വീണ്ടും യഹോവെക്കു അനിഷ്ടമായുള്ളതു ചെയ്തു.
2 യഹോവ അവരെ ഹാസോരിൽവാണ കനാന്യരാജാവായ യാബീന്നു വിറ്റുകളഞ്ഞു; അവന്റെ സേനാപതി ജാതികളുടെ ഹരോശെത്തിൽ പാർത്തിരുന്ന സീസെരാ ആയിരുന്നു.
3 അവന്നു തൊള്ളായിരം ഇരിമ്പുരഥം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവൻ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ ഇരുപതു സംവത്സരം കഠിനമായി ഞെരുക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു.
4 ആ കാലത്തു ലപ്പീദോത്തിന്റെ ഭാര്യയായ ദെബോരാ എന്ന പ്രവാചകി യിസ്രായേലിൽ ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്തു.
5 അവൾ എഫ്രയീംപർവ്വതത്തിൽ രാമെക്കും ബേഥേലിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേയുള്ള ദെബോരയുടെ ഈന്തപ്പനയുടെ കീഴിൽ പാർത്തിരുന്നു; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിന്നു അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലുക പതിവായിരുന്നു.
6 അവൾ അബീനോവാമിന്റെ മകനായ ബാരാക്കിനെ കേദെശ്--നഫ്താലിയിൽനിന്നു വിളിപ്പിച്ചു അവനോടു: നീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു താബോർപർവ്വതത്തിൽ ചെന്നു നഫ്താലിയുടെയും സെബൂലൂന്റെയും മക്കളിൽ പതിനായിരം പേരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊൾക;
7 ഞാൻ യാബീന്റെ സേനാപതി സീസെരയെയും അവന്റെ രഥങ്ങളെയും സൈന്യത്തെയും കീശോൻ തോട്ടിന്നരികെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിക്കുമെന്നു യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
8 ബാരാക്ക് അവളോടു: നീ എന്നോടു കൂടെ വരുന്നെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ പോകാം; നീ വരുന്നില്ല എങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ പോകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
9 അതിന്നു അവൾ: ഞാൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ പോരാം; എന്നാൽ നീ പേകുന്ന യാത്രയാൽ ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന ബഹുമാനം നിനക്കു വരികയില്ല; യഹോവ സീസെരയെ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയുടെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ദെബോരാ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ബാരാക്കിനോടുകൂടെ കേദേശിലേക്കു പോയി.
10 ബാരാക്ക് സെബൂലൂനെയും നഫ്താലിയെയും കേദെശിൽ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി; അവനോടുകൂടെ പതിനായിരംപേർ കയറിച്ചെന്നു; ദെബോരയുംകൂടെ കയറിച്ചെന്നു.
11 എന്നാൽ കേന്യനായ ഹേബെർ മോശെയുടെ അളിയൻ ഹോബാബിന്റെ മക്കളായ കേന്യരെ വിട്ടുപിരിഞ്ഞു കേദെശിന്നരികെയുള്ള സാനന്നീമിലെ കരുവേലകംവരെ കൂടാരം അടിച്ചിരുന്നു.
12 അബീനോവാബിന്റെ മകനായ ബാരാക്ക് താബോർപർവ്വതത്തിൽ കയറിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു സീസെരെക്കു അറിവുകിട്ടി.
13 സീസെരാ തന്റെ തൊള്ളായിരം ഇരിമ്പുരഥവുമായി തന്റെ എല്ലാ പടജ്ജനത്തെയും ജാതികളുടെ ഹരോശെത്തിൽനിന്നു കീശോൻ തോട്ടിന്നരികെ വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി.
14 അപ്പോൾ ദെബോരാ ബാരാക്കിനോടു: പുറപ്പെട്ടുചെല്ലുക; യഹോവ ഇന്നു സീസെരയെ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ബാരാക്കും അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ പതിനായിരംപേരും താബോർപർവ്വതത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു,
15 യഹോവ സീസെരയെയും അവന്റെ സകലരഥങ്ങളെയും സൈന്യത്തെയും ബാരാക്കിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാൽ തോല്പിച്ചു; സീസെരാ രഥത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി കാൽനടയായി ഓടിപ്പോയി.
16 ബാരാക്ക് രഥങ്ങളെയും സൈന്യത്തെയും ജാതികളുടെ ഹരോശെത്ത്വരെ ഓടിച്ചു സീസെരയുടെ സൈന്യമൊക്കെയും വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാൽ വീണു; ഒരുത്തനും ശേഷിച്ചില്ല.
17 എന്നാൽ സീസെരാ കാൽനടയായി കേന്യനായ ഹേബെരിന്റെ ഭാര്യ യായേലിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോയി; കേന്യനായ ഹേബെരിന്റെ ഗൃഹവും ഹാസോർ രാജാവായ യാബീനും തമ്മിൽ സമാധാനം ആയിരുന്നു.
18 യായേൽ സീസെരയെ എതിരേറ്റുചെന്നു അവനോടു: ഇങ്ങോട്ടു കയറിക്കൊൾക, യജമാനനേ, ഇങ്ങോട്ടു കയറിക്കൊൾക; ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ കൂടാരത്തിൽ കയറിച്ചെന്നു; അവൾ അവനെ ഒരു പരവതാനികൊണ്ടു മൂടി.
19 അവൻ അവളോടു: എനിക്കു ദാഹിക്കുന്നു; കുടിപ്പാൻ കുറെ വെള്ളം തരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവൾ പാൽതുരുത്തി തുറന്നു അവന്നു കുടിപ്പാൻ കൊടുത്തു; പിന്നെയും അവനെ മൂടി.
20 അവൻ അവളോടു: നീ കൂടാരവാതിൽക്കൽ നിൽക്ക; വല്ലവനും വന്നു ഇവിടെ ആരെങ്കിലും ഉണ്ടോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചാൽ ഇല്ല എന്നു പറയേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
21 എന്നാൽ ഹേബെരിന്റെ ഭാര്യ യായേൽ കൂടാരത്തിന്റെ ഒരു കുറ്റി എടുത്തു കയ്യിൽ ചുറ്റികയും പിടിച്ചു പതുക്കെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു കുറ്റി അവന്റെ ചെന്നിയിൽ തറെച്ചു; അതു നിലത്തു ചെന്നു ഉറെച്ചു; അവന്നു ഗാഢനിദ്ര ആയിരുന്നു; അവൻ ബോധംകെട്ടു മരിച്ചുപോയി.
22 ബാരാക്ക് സീസെരയെ തിരഞ്ഞു ചെല്ലുമ്പോൾ യായേൽ അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു അവനോടു: വരിക, നീ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്ന ആളെ ഞാൻ കാണിച്ചുതരാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നപ്പോൾ സീസെരാ ചെന്നിയിൽ കുറ്റിയുമായി മരിച്ചുകിടക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
23 ഇങ്ങനെ ദൈവം അന്നു കനാന്യ രാജാവായ യാബീനെ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു കീഴടക്കി.
1 And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, when Ehud was dead.
2 And the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose host was Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
3 And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord: for he had nine hundred chariots of iron; and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
5 And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth-el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Israel came up to her for judgment.
6 And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
7 And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.
8 And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.
9 And she said, I will surely go with thee: notwithstanding the journey that thou takest shall not be for thine honour; for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose, and went with Barak to Kedesh.
10 And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh; and he went up with ten thousand men at his feet: and Deborah went up with him.
11 Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in law of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent unto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.
12 And they shewed Sisera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.
13 And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.
14 And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the Lord gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
15 And the Lord discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.
16 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.
17 Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
18 And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.
19 And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.
20 Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and inquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.
21 Then Jael Heber’s wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.
22 And, behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekest. And when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.
23 So God subdued on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.

And she sent and called Barak the son of Abinoam out of Kedesh-naphtali, and said unto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Go and draw toward mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?

And I will draw unto thee to the river Kishon Sisera, the captain of Jabin’s army, with his chariots and his multitude; and I will deliver him into thine hand.
8 ബാരാക്ക് അവളോടു: നീ എന്നോടു കൂടെ വരുന്നെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ പോകാം; നീ വരുന്നില്ല എങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ പോകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Barak said unto her, If thou wilt go with me, then I will go: but if thou wilt not go with me, then I will not go.

And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that were with him, from Harosheth of the Gentiles unto the river of Kishon.
14 അപ്പോൾ ദെബോരാ ബാരാക്കിനോടു: പുറപ്പെട്ടുചെല്ലുക; യഹോവ ഇന്നു സീസെരയെ നിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ നിനക്കു മുമ്പായി പുറപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ ബാരാക്കും അവന്റെ പിന്നാലെ പതിനായിരംപേരും താബോർപർവ്വതത്തിൽ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു,
And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; for this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thine hand: is not the Lord gone out before thee? So Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
15 യഹോവ സീസെരയെയും അവന്റെ സകലരഥങ്ങളെയും സൈന്യത്തെയും ബാരാക്കിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വാളിന്റെ വായ്ത്തലയാൽ തോല്പിച്ചു; സീസെരാ രഥത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങി കാൽനടയായി ഓടിപ്പോയി.
And the Lord discomfited Sisera, and all his chariots, and all his host, with the edge of the sword before Barak; so that Sisera lighted down off his chariot, and fled away on his feet.

But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left.
