അപ്പോൾ ശൌൽ ദാവീദിനോടു: എന്റെ മകനേ, ദാവീദേ, നീ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ; നീ കൃതാർത്ഥനാകും; നീ ജയംപ്രാപിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് തന്റെ വഴിക്കു പോയി; ശൌലും തന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
