Daniel 8
1 ദാനീയേൽ എന്ന എനിക്കു ആദിയിൽ ഉണ്ടായതിന്റെ ശേഷം, ബേൽശസ്സർരാജാവിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയുടെ മൂന്നാം ആണ്ടിൽ ഒരു ദർശനം ഉണ്ടായി.
2 ഞാൻ ഒരു ദർശനം കണ്ടു, ഏലാം സംസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ ശൂശൻ രാജധാനിയിൽ ആയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ അതു കണ്ടു; ഞാൻ ഊലായി നദീതീരത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നതായി ദർശനത്തിൽ കണ്ടു.
3 ഞാൻ തലപൊക്കിയപ്പോൾ, രണ്ടു കൊമ്പുള്ള ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ നദീതീരത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; ആ കൊമ്പുകൾ നീണ്ടവയായിരുന്നു; ഒന്നു മറ്റേതിനെക്കാൾ അധികം നീണ്ടതു; അധികം നീണ്ടതു ഒടുക്കം മുളെച്ചുവന്നതായിരുന്നു.
4 ആ ആട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടും വടക്കോട്ടും തെക്കോട്ടും ഇടിക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു; ഒരു മൃഗത്തിന്നും അതിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നില്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കാകുന്നവനും ആരുമില്ല; അതു ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ചെയ്തു വമ്പു കാട്ടിപ്പോന്നു.
5 ഞാൻ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, ഒരു കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ പടിഞ്ഞാറു നിന്നു നിലം തൊടാതെ സർവ്വ ഭൂതലത്തിലും കൂടിവന്നു; ആ കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റന്നു കണ്ണുകളുടെ നടുവിൽ വിശേഷമായൊരു കൊമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
6 അതു നദീതീരത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നതായി ഞാൻ കണ്ട രണ്ടു കൊമ്പുള്ള ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്റെ നേരെ ഉഗ്രക്രോധത്തോടെ പാഞ്ഞു ചെന്നു.
7 അതു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനോടു അടുക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു; അതു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനോടു ക്രുദ്ധിച്ചു, അതിനെ ഇടിച്ചു അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പു രണ്ടും തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നില്പാൻ ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്നു ശക്തിയില്ലാതെയിരുന്നു; അതു അതിനെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിട്ടു ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.
8 കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ ഏറ്റവും വലുതായിത്തീർന്നു; എന്നാൽ അതു ബലപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ വലിയ കൊമ്പു തകർന്നുപോയി; അതിന്നു പകരം ആകാശത്തിലെ നാലു കാറ്റിന്നു നേരെ ഭംഗിയുള്ള നാലു കൊമ്പു മുളെച്ചുവന്നു.
9 അവയിൽ ഒന്നിൽനിന്നു ഒരു ചെറിയ കൊമ്പു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അതു തെക്കോട്ടും കിഴക്കോട്ടും മനോഹരദേശത്തിന്നു നേരെയും ഏറ്റവും വലുതായിത്തീർന്നു.
10 അതു ആകാശത്തിലെ സൈന്യത്തോളം വലുതായിത്തീർന്നു, സൈന്യത്തിലും നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളിലും ചിലതിനെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിട്ടു ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.
11 അതു സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ അധിപതിയോളം തന്നെത്താൻ വലുതാക്കി, അവന്നുള്ള നിരന്തരഹോമയാഗം അപഹരിക്കയും അവന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരം ഇടിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്തു.
12 അതിക്രമം ഹേതുവായി നിരന്തരഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നെതിരായി ഒരു സേവ നിയമിക്കപ്പെടും; അതു സത്യത്തെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിടുകയും കാര്യം നടത്തി സാധിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.
13 അനന്തരം ഒരു വിശുദ്ധൻ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ കേട്ടു; സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന വിശുദ്ധനോടു മറ്റൊരു വിശുദ്ധൻ: വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തെയും സേവയെയും ചവിട്ടിക്കളയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം നിരന്തരഹോമയാഗത്തെയും ശൂന്യമാക്കുന്ന അതിക്രമത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ദർശനത്തിൽ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതു എത്രത്തോളം നില്ക്കും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
14 അതിന്നു അവൻ അവനോടു: രണ്ടായിരത്തിമുന്നൂറു സന്ധ്യയും ഉഷസ്സും തികയുവോളം തന്നേ; പിന്നെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരം യഥാസ്ഥാനപ്പെടും.
1 In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.
2 And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai.
3 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
4 I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
5 And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
6 And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.
7 And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
8 Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
9 And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
10 And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
11 Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12 And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
13 Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?
14 And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

3 ഞാൻ തലപൊക്കിയപ്പോൾ, രണ്ടു കൊമ്പുള്ള ഒരു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ നദീതീരത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; ആ കൊമ്പുകൾ നീണ്ടവയായിരുന്നു; ഒന്നു മറ്റേതിനെക്കാൾ അധികം നീണ്ടതു; അധികം നീണ്ടതു ഒടുക്കം മുളെച്ചുവന്നതായിരുന്നു.
Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.
4 ആ ആട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ പടിഞ്ഞാറോട്ടും വടക്കോട്ടും തെക്കോട്ടും ഇടിക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു; ഒരു മൃഗത്തിന്നും അതിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നില്പാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കാകുന്നവനും ആരുമില്ല; അതു ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ചെയ്തു വമ്പു കാട്ടിപ്പോന്നു.
I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.
5 ഞാൻ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ, ഒരു കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ പടിഞ്ഞാറു നിന്നു നിലം തൊടാതെ സർവ്വ ഭൂതലത്തിലും കൂടിവന്നു; ആ കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റന്നു കണ്ണുകളുടെ നടുവിൽ വിശേഷമായൊരു കൊമ്പുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.
6 അതു നദീതീരത്തു നില്ക്കുന്നതായി ഞാൻ കണ്ട രണ്ടു കൊമ്പുള്ള ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്റെ നേരെ ഉഗ്രക്രോധത്തോടെ പാഞ്ഞു ചെന്നു.
And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.
7 അതു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനോടു അടുക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു; അതു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനോടു ക്രുദ്ധിച്ചു, അതിനെ ഇടിച്ചു അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പു രണ്ടും തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നില്പാൻ ആട്ടുകൊറ്റന്നു ശക്തിയില്ലാതെയിരുന്നു; അതു അതിനെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിട്ടു ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു; അതിന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല.
And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
8 കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റൻ ഏറ്റവും വലുതായിത്തീർന്നു; എന്നാൽ അതു ബലപ്പെട്ടപ്പോൾ വലിയ കൊമ്പു തകർന്നുപോയി; അതിന്നു പകരം ആകാശത്തിലെ നാലു കാറ്റിന്നു നേരെ ഭംഗിയുള്ള നാലു കൊമ്പു മുളെച്ചുവന്നു.
Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
9 അവയിൽ ഒന്നിൽനിന്നു ഒരു ചെറിയ കൊമ്പു പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അതു തെക്കോട്ടും കിഴക്കോട്ടും മനോഹരദേശത്തിന്നു നേരെയും ഏറ്റവും വലുതായിത്തീർന്നു.
And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
10 അതു ആകാശത്തിലെ സൈന്യത്തോളം വലുതായിത്തീർന്നു, സൈന്യത്തിലും നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളിലും ചിലതിനെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിട്ടു ചവിട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞു.
And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
11 അതു സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ അധിപതിയോളം തന്നെത്താൻ വലുതാക്കി, അവന്നുള്ള നിരന്തരഹോമയാഗം അപഹരിക്കയും അവന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരം ഇടിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്തു.
Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
12 അതിക്രമം ഹേതുവായി നിരന്തരഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നെതിരായി ഒരു സേവ നിയമിക്കപ്പെടും; അതു സത്യത്തെ നിലത്തു തള്ളിയിടുകയും കാര്യം നടത്തി സാധിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.
And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.
13 അനന്തരം ഒരു വിശുദ്ധൻ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു ഞാൻ കേട്ടു; സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന വിശുദ്ധനോടു മറ്റൊരു വിശുദ്ധൻ: വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തെയും സേവയെയും ചവിട്ടിക്കളയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഏല്പിച്ചുകൊടുപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം നിരന്തരഹോമയാഗത്തെയും ശൂന്യമാക്കുന്ന അതിക്രമത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ദർശനത്തിൽ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതു എത്രത്തോളം നില്ക്കും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
