ಆಗ ನಾತಾನನು ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ತಾಯಿ ಯಾದ ಬತ್ಷೆಬಳಿಗೆ--ನಮ್ಮ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಅರಿಯದಿರುವಾಗ ಹಗ್ಗೀತಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಅದೋನೀ ಯನು ಆಳುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ನೀನು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?

ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾದ ಬತ್ಷೆಬೆಯನ್ನು ಆದರಿಸಿ ಅವಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವಳ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಲಗಿದನು.ಅವಳು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆತ್ತಳು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನೆಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು. ಕರ್ತನು ಅವ ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಮಾಡಿದನು.

1 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸಭೆಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ -- ದೇವರು ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನೇ ಆದುಕೊಂಡ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊ ಮೋನನು ಚಿಕ್ಕವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಮೃದುವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಕೆಲಸವು ದೊಡ್ಡದು; ಈ ಅರಮನೆ ಯು ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವಲ್ಲ, ಕರ್ತನಾದ ದೇವರಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರವೇ.
