יְשֻׂשׂ֥וּם shall be glad śûś מִדְבָּ֖ר The wilderness midbār וְצִיָּ֑ה and the solitary place ṣiyyâ וְתָגֵ֧ל shall rejoice, gîl עֲרָבָ֛ה for them; and the desert ʿărābâ וְתִפְרַ֖ח and blossom pāraḥ כַּחֲבַצָּֽלֶת׃ as the rose. ḥăbaṣṣelet

פָּרֹ֨חַ It shall blossom pāraḥ תִּפְרַ֜ח abundantly, pāraḥ וְתָגֵ֗ל and rejoice gîl אַ֚ף even ʾap גִּילַ֣ת with joy gîlâ וְרַנֵּ֔ן and singing: rānan כְּב֤וֹד the glory kābôd הַלְּבָנוֹן֙ of Lebanon lĕbānôn נִתַּן shall be given nātan לָ֔הּ הֲדַ֥ר unto it, the excellency hādār הַכַּרְמֶ֖ל of Carmel karmel וְהַשָּׁר֑וֹן and Sharon, šārôn הֵ֛מָּה they hēm יִרְא֥וּ shall see rāʾâ כְבוֹד the glory kābôd יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord, yĕhōwâ הֲדַ֥ר the excellency hādār אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ of our God. ʾĕlōhîm

חַזְּק֖וּ Strengthen ḥāzaq יָדַ֣יִם hands, yād רָפ֑וֹת ye the weak rāpe וּבִרְכַּ֥יִם knees. berek כֹּשְׁל֖וֹת the feeble kāšal אַמֵּֽצוּ׃ and confirm ʾāmaṣ

אִמְרוּ֙ Say ʾāmar לְנִמְהֲרֵי to them of a fearful māhar לֵ֔ב heart, lēb חִזְק֖וּ Be strong, ḥāzaq אַל not: ʾal תִּירָ֑אוּ fear yārēʾ הִנֵּ֤ה behold, hinnē אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙ your God ʾĕlōhîm נָקָ֣ם vengeance, nāqām יָב֔וֹא will come bôʾ גְּמ֣וּל a recompence; gĕmûl אֱלֹהִ֔ים God ʾĕlōhîm ה֥וּא he hûʾ יָב֖וֹא will come bôʾ וְיֹשַׁעֲכֶֽם׃ and save you. yāšaʿ

אָ֥ז Then ʾāz תִּפָּקַ֖חְנָה shall be opened, pāqaḥ עֵינֵ֣י the eyes ʿayin עִוְרִ֑ים of the blind ʿiwwēr וְאָזְנֵ֥י and the ears ʾōzen חֵרְשִׁ֖ים of the deaf ḥērēš תִּפָּתַֽחְנָה׃ shall be unstopped. pātaḥ

אָ֣ז Then ʾāz יְדַלֵּ֤ג leap dālag כָּֽאַיָּל֙ as an hart, ʾayyāl פִּסֵּ֔חַ shall the lame pissēaḥ וְתָרֹ֖ן sing: rānan לְשׁ֣וֹן and the tongue lāšôn אִלֵּ֑ם of the dumb ʾillēm כִּֽי for kî נִבְקְע֤וּ break out, bāqaʿ בַמִּדְבָּר֙ in the wilderness midbār מַ֔יִם shall waters mayim וּנְחָלִ֖ים and streams naḥal בָּעֲרָבָֽה׃ in the desert. ʿărābâ

וְהָיָ֤ה shall become hāyâ הַשָּׁרָב֙ And the parched ground šārāb לַאֲגַ֔ם a pool, ʾăgam וְצִמָּא֖וֹן and the thirsty land ṣimmāʾôn לְמַבּ֣וּעֵי springs mabbûaʿ מָ֑יִם of water: mayim בִּנְוֵ֤ה in the habitation nāwe תַנִּים֙ of dragons, tannîn רִבְצָ֔הּ where each lay, rēbeṣ חָצִ֖יר grass ḥāṣîr לְקָנֶ֥ה with reeds qāne וָגֹֽמֶא׃ and rushes. gōmeʾ

וְהָיָה shall be hāyâ שָׁ֞ם there, šām מַסְל֣וּל And an highway maslûl וָדֶ֗רֶךְ and a way, derek וְדֶ֤רֶךְ The way derek הַקֹּ֙דֶשׁ֙ of holiness; qōdeš יִקָּ֣רֵא and it shall be called qārāʾ לָ֔הּ לֹֽא shall not lōʾ יַעַבְרֶ֥נּוּ pass over ʿābar טָמֵ֖א the unclean ṭāmēʾ וְהוּא it; but it hûʾ לָ֑מוֹ הֹלֵ֥ךְ for those: the wayfaring men, hālak דֶּ֛רֶךְ derek וֶאֱוִילִ֖ים though fools, ʾĕwîl לֹ֥א shall not lōʾ יִתְעֽוּ׃ err tāʿâ

לֹא No lōʾ יִהְיֶ֨ה shall be hāyâ שָׁ֜ם there, šām אַרְיֵ֗ה lion ʾărî וּפְרִ֤יץ ravenous pĕrîṣ חַיּוֹת֙ beast ḥay בַּֽל nor bal יַעֲלֶ֔נָּה shall go up ʿālâ לֹ֥א thereon, it shall not lōʾ תִמָּצֵ֖א be found māṣāʾ שָׁ֑ם there; šām וְהָלְכ֖וּ shall walk hālak גְּאוּלִֽים׃ but the redeemed gāʾal

וּפְדוּיֵ֨י And the ransomed pādâ יְהוָ֜ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ יְשֻׁב֗וּן shall return, šûb וּבָ֤אוּ and come bôʾ צִיּוֹן֙ to Zion ṣiyyôn בְּרִנָּ֔ה with songs rinnâ וְשִׂמְחַ֥ת joy śimḥâ עוֹלָ֖ם and everlasting ʿôlām עַל upon ʿal רֹאשָׁ֑ם their heads: rōš שָׂשׂ֤וֹן and gladness, śāśôn וְשִׂמְחָה֙ joy śimḥâ יַשִּׂ֔יגוּ they shall obtain nāśag וְנָ֖סוּ shall flee away. nûs יָג֥וֹן and sorrow yāgôn וַאֲנָחָֽה׃ and sighing ʾănāḥâ
