  1. חֲזוֹן֙ The vision ḥāzôn יְשַֽׁעְיָ֣הוּ of Isaiah yĕšaʿyâ בֶן the son bēn אָמ֔וֹץ of Amoz, ʾāmôṣ אֲשֶׁ֣ר which ʾăšer חָזָ֔ה he saw ḥāzâ עַל concerning ʿal יְהוּדָ֖ה Judah yĕhûdâ וִירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם and Jerusalem yĕrûšālaim בִּימֵ֨י in the days yôm עֻזִּיָּ֧הוּ of Uzziah, ʿuzziyyâ יוֹתָ֛ם Jotham, yôtām אָחָ֥ז Ahaz, ʾāḥāz יְחִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ Hezekiah, yĕḥizqiyyâ מַלְכֵ֥י kings melek יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah. yĕhûdâ
  2. שִׁמְע֤וּ Hear, šāmaʿ שָׁמַ֙יִם֙ O heavens, šāmayim וְהַאֲזִ֣ינִי and give ear, ʾāzan אֶ֔רֶץ O earth: ʾereṣ כִּ֥י for יְהוָ֖ה the Lord yĕhōwâ דִּבֵּ֑ר hath spoken, dābar בָּנִים֙ children, bēn גִּדַּ֣לְתִּי I have nourished gādal וְרוֹמַ֔מְתִּי and brought up rûm וְהֵ֖ם and they hēm פָּ֥שְׁעוּ have rebelled against me. pāšaʿ בִֽי׃
  3. יָדַ֥ע knoweth yādaʿ שׁוֹר֙ The ox šôr קֹנֵ֔הוּ his owner, qānâ וַחֲמ֖וֹר and the ass ḥămôr אֵב֣וּס crib: ʾēbûs בְּעָלָ֑יו his master's baʿal יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ Israel yiśrāʾēl לֹ֣א doth not lōʾ יָדַ֔ע know, yādaʿ עַמִּ֖י my people ʿam לֹ֥א doth not lōʾ הִתְבּוֹנָֽן׃ consider. bîn
  4. ה֣וֹי׀ Ah hôy גּ֣וֹי nation, gôy חֹטֵ֗א sinful ḥāṭāʾ עַ֚ם a people ʿam כֶּ֣בֶד laden kābēd עָוֹ֔ן with iniquity, ʿāwōn זֶ֣רַע a seed zeraʿ מְרֵעִ֔ים of evildoers, rāʿaʿ בָּנִ֖ים children bēn מַשְׁחִיתִ֑ים that are corrupters: šāḥat עָזְב֣וּ they have forsaken ʿāzab אֶת ʾēt יְהוָ֗ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ נִֽאֲצ֛וּ they have provoked nāʾaṣ אֶת ʾēt קְד֥וֹשׁ the Holy One qādôš יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl נָזֹ֥רוּ unto anger, they are gone away zûr אָחֽוֹר׃ backward. ʾāḥôr
  5. עַ֣ל Why ʿal מֶ֥ה תֻכּ֛וּ should ye be stricken nākâ ע֖וֹד any more? ʿôd תּוֹסִ֣יפוּ more and more: yāsap סָרָ֑ה ye will revolt sārâ כָּל the whole kōl רֹ֣אשׁ head rōš לָחֳלִ֔י is sick, ḥŏlî וְכָל and the whole kōl לֵבָ֖ב heart lēbāb דַּוָּֽי׃ faint. dawwāy
  6. מִכַּף From the sole kap רֶ֤גֶל of the foot regel וְעַד even unto ʿad רֹאשׁ֙ the head rōš אֵֽין no ʾayin בּ֣וֹ מְתֹ֔ם soundness mĕtōm פֶּ֥צַע in it; wounds, peṣaʿ וְחַבּוּרָ֖ה and bruises, ḥabbûrâ וּמַכָּ֣ה sores: makkâ טְרִיָּ֑ה and putrifying ṭārî לֹא they have not lōʾ זֹ֙רוּ֙ been closed, zûr וְלֹ֣א neither lōʾ חֻבָּ֔שׁוּ bound up, ḥābaš וְלֹ֥א neither lōʾ רֻכְּכָ֖ה mollified rākak בַּשָּֽׁמֶן׃ with ointment. šemen
  7. אַרְצְכֶ֣ם Your country ʾereṣ שְׁמָמָ֔ה desolate, šĕmāmâ עָרֵיכֶ֖ם your cities ʿîr שְׂרֻפ֣וֹת burned śārap אֵ֑שׁ with fire: ʾēš אַדְמַתְכֶ֗ם your land, ʾădāmâ לְנֶגְדְּכֶם֙ it in your presence, neged זָרִים֙ strangers zûr אֹכְלִ֣ים devour ʾākal אֹתָ֔הּ ʾēt וּשְׁמָמָ֖ה and desolate, šĕmāmâ כְּמַהְפֵּכַ֥ת as overthrown mahpēkâ זָרִֽים׃ by strangers. zûr
  8. וְנוֹתְרָ֥ה is left yātar בַת And the daughter bat צִיּ֖וֹן of Zion ṣiyyôn כְּסֻכָּ֣ה as a cottage sukkâ בְכָ֑רֶם in a vineyard, kerem כִּמְלוּנָ֥ה as a lodge mĕlûnâ בְמִקְשָׁ֖ה in a garden of cucumbers, miqšâ כְּעִ֥יר city. ʿîr נְצוּרָֽה׃ as a besieged nāṣar
  9. לוּלֵי֙ Except lûlēʾ יְהוָ֣ה the Lord yĕhōwâ צְבָא֔וֹת of hosts ṣābāʾ הוֹתִ֥יר had left yātar לָ֛נוּ שָׂרִ֖יד remnant, śārîd כִּמְעָ֑ט unto us a very small mĕʿaṭ כִּסְדֹ֣ם as Sodom, sĕdōm הָיִ֔ינוּ we should have been hāyâ לַעֲמֹרָ֖ה unto Gomorrah. ʿămōrâ דָּמִֽינוּ׃ we should have been like dāmâ
  10. שִׁמְע֥וּ Hear šāmaʿ דְבַר the word dābār יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord, yĕhōwâ קְצִינֵ֣י ye rulers qāṣîn סְדֹ֑ם of Sodom; sĕdōm הַאֲזִ֛ינוּ give ear ʾāzan תּוֹרַ֥ת unto the law tôrâ אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ of our God, ʾĕlōhîm עַ֥ם ye people ʿam עֲמֹרָֽה׃ of Gomorrah. ʿămōrâ
  11. לָמָּה To what לִּ֤י רֹב purpose the multitude rōb זִבְחֵיכֶם֙ of your sacrifices zebaḥ יֹאמַ֣ר unto me? saith ʾāmar יְהוָ֔ה the Lord: yĕhōwâ שָׂבַ֛עְתִּי I am full śābaʿ עֹל֥וֹת of the burnt offerings ʿōlâ אֵילִ֖ים of rams, ʾayil וְחֵ֣לֶב and the fat ḥeleb מְרִיאִ֑ים of fed beasts; mĕrîʾ וְדַ֨ם in the blood dām פָּרִ֧ים of bullocks, par וּכְבָשִׂ֛ים or of lambs, kebeś וְעַתּוּדִ֖ים or of he goats. ʿattûd לֹ֥א not lōʾ חָפָֽצְתִּי׃ and I delight ḥāpēṣ
  12. כִּ֣י When תָבֹ֔אוּ ye come bôʾ לֵרָא֖וֹת to appear rāʾâ פָּנָ֑י before pānîm מִי me, who בִקֵּ֥שׁ hath required bāqaš זֹ֛את this zōt מִיֶּדְכֶ֖ם at your hand, yād רְמֹ֥ס to tread rāmas חֲצֵרָֽי׃ my courts? ḥāṣēr
  13. לֹ֣א no lōʾ תוֹסִ֗יפוּ more yāsap הָבִיא֙ Bring bôʾ מִנְחַת oblations; minḥâ שָׁ֔וְא vain šow קְטֹ֧רֶת incense qĕṭōret תּוֹעֵבָ֛ה is an abomination tôʿēba הִ֖יא hûʾ לִ֑י חֹ֤דֶשׁ unto me; the new moons ḥōdeš וְשַׁבָּת֙ and sabbaths, šabbāt קְרֹ֣א the calling qārāʾ מִקְרָ֔א of assemblies, miqrāʾ לֹא I cannot lōʾ אוּכַ֥ל away with; yākōl אָ֖וֶן iniquity, ʾāwen וַעֲצָרָֽה׃ even the solemn meeting. ʿăṣārâ
  14. חָדְשֵׁיכֶ֤ם Your new moons ḥōdeš וּמוֹעֲדֵיכֶם֙ and your appointed feasts môʿēd שָׂנְאָ֣ה hateth: śānēʾ נַפְשִׁ֔י my soul nepeš הָי֥וּ they are hāyâ עָלַ֖י unto me; ʿal לָטֹ֑רַח a trouble ṭōraḥ נִלְאֵ֖יתִי I am weary lāʾâ נְשֹֽׂא׃ to bear nāśāʾ
  15. וּבְפָרִשְׂכֶ֣ם And when ye spread forth pāraś כַּפֵּיכֶ֗ם your hands, kap אַעְלִ֤ים I will hide ʿālam עֵינַי֙ mine eyes ʿayin מִכֶּ֔ם from min גַּ֛ם you: yea, gam כִּֽי when תַרְבּ֥וּ ye make many rābâ תְפִלָּ֖ה prayers, tĕpillâ אֵינֶ֣נִּי I will not ʾayin שֹׁמֵ֑עַ hear: šāmaʿ יְדֵיכֶ֖ם your hands yād דָּמִ֥ים of blood. dām מָלֵֽאוּ׃ are full mālēʾ
  16. רַחֲצוּ֙ Wash rāḥaṣ הִזַּכּ֔וּ you, make you clean; zākâ הָסִ֛ירוּ put away sûr רֹ֥עַ the evil rōaʿ מַעַלְלֵיכֶ֖ם of your doings maʿălāl מִנֶּ֣גֶד from before neged עֵינָ֑י mine eyes; ʿayin חִדְל֖וּ cease ḥādal הָרֵֽעַ׃ to do evil; rāʿaʿ
  17. לִמְד֥וּ Learn lāmad הֵיטֵ֛ב to do well; yāṭab דִּרְשׁ֥וּ seek dāraš מִשְׁפָּ֖ט judgment, mišpāṭ אַשְּׁר֣וּ relieve ʾāšar חָמ֑וֹץ the oppressed, ḥāmôṣ שִׁפְט֣וּ judge šāpaṭ יָת֔וֹם the fatherless, yātôm רִ֖יבוּ plead rîb אַלְמָנָֽה׃ for the widow. ʾalmānâ
  18. לְכוּ Come hālak נָ֛א now, nāʾ וְנִוָּֽכְחָ֖ה and let us reason together, yākaḥ יֹאמַ֣ר saith ʾāmar יְהוָ֑ה the Lord: yĕhōwâ אִם though ʾim יִֽהְי֨וּ be hāyâ חֲטָאֵיכֶ֤ם your sins ḥēṭĕʾ כַּשָּׁנִים֙ as scarlet, šānî כַּשֶּׁ֣לֶג as snow; šeleg יַלְבִּ֔ינוּ they shall be as white lāban אִם though ʾim יַאְדִּ֥ימוּ they be red ʾādam כַתּוֹלָ֖ע like crimson, tôlāʿ כַּצֶּ֥מֶר as wool. ṣemer יִהְיֽוּ׃ they shall be hāyâ
  19. אִם If ʾim תֹּאב֖וּ ye be willing ʾābâ וּשְׁמַעְתֶּ֑ם and obedient, šāmaʿ ט֥וּב the good ṭûb הָאָ֖רֶץ of the land: ʾereṣ תֹּאכֵֽלוּ׃ ye shall eat ʾākal
  20. וְאִם But if ʾim תְּמָאֲנ֖וּ ye refuse māʾēn וּמְרִיתֶ֑ם and rebel, mārâ חֶ֣רֶב with the sword: ḥereb תְּאֻכְּל֔וּ ye shall be devoured ʾākal כִּ֛י for פִּ֥י the mouth pe יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ דִּבֵּֽר׃ hath spoken dābar
  21. אֵיכָה֙ How ʾêk הָיְתָ֣ה become hāyâ לְזוֹנָ֔ה an harlot! zānâ קִרְיָ֖ה city qiryâ נֶאֱמָנָ֑ה is the faithful ʾāman מְלֵאֲתִ֣י it was full mālēʾ מִשְׁפָּ֗ט of judgment; mišpāṭ צֶ֛דֶק righteousness ṣedeq יָלִ֥ין lodged lûn בָּ֖הּ וְעַתָּ֥ה in it; but now ʿattâ מְרַצְּחִֽים׃ murderers. rāṣaḥ
  22. כַּסְפֵּ֖ךְ Thy silver kesep הָיָ֣ה is become hāyâ לְסִיגִ֑ים dross, sîg סָבְאֵ֖ךְ thy wine sōbeʾ מָה֥וּל mixed māhal בַּמָּֽיִם׃ with water: mayim
  23. שָׂרַ֣יִךְ Thy princes śar סוֹרְרִ֗ים rebellious, sārar וְחַבְרֵי֙ and companions ḥābēr גַּנָּבִ֔ים of thieves: gannāb כֻּלּוֹ֙ every one kōl אֹהֵ֣ב loveth ʾāhab שֹׁ֔חַד gifts, šaḥad וְרֹדֵ֖ף and followeth after rādap שַׁלְמֹנִ֑ים rewards: šalmōn יָתוֹם֙ the fatherless, yātôm לֹ֣א not lōʾ יִשְׁפֹּ֔טוּ they judge šāpaṭ וְרִ֥יב doth the cause rîb אַלְמָנָ֖ה of the widow ʾalmānâ לֹֽא neither lōʾ יָב֥וֹא come bôʾ אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ unto them. ʾēl
  24. לָכֵ֗ן Therefore kēn נְאֻ֤ם saith nĕʾum הָֽאָדוֹן֙ the Lord, ʾādôn יְהוָ֣ה the Lord yĕhōwâ צְבָא֔וֹת of hosts, ṣābāʾ אֲבִ֖יר the mighty One ʾābîr יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl ה֚וֹי Ah, hôy אֶנָּחֵ֣ם I will ease nāḥam מִצָּרַ֔י me of mine adversaries, ṣar וְאִנָּקְמָ֖ה and avenge nāqam מֵאוֹיְבָֽי׃ me of mine enemies: ʾōyēb
  25. וְאָשִׁ֤יבָה And I will turn šûb יָדִי֙ my hand yād עָלַ֔יִךְ upon ʿal וְאֶצְרֹ֥ף purge away ṣārap כַּבֹּ֖ר thee, and purely bōr סִיגָ֑יִךְ thy dross, sîg וְאָסִ֖ירָה and take away sûr כָּל all kōl בְּדִילָֽיִךְ׃ thy tin: bĕdîl
  26. וְאָשִׁ֤יבָה And I will restore šûb שֹׁפְטַ֙יִךְ֙ thy judges šāpaṭ כְּבָרִ֣אשֹׁנָ֔ה as at the first, riʾšôn וְיֹעֲצַ֖יִךְ and thy counsellers yāʿaṣ כְּבַתְּחִלָּ֑ה as at the beginning: tĕḥillâ אַחֲרֵי afterward ʾaḥar כֵ֗ן kēn יִקָּ֤רֵא thou shalt be called, qārāʾ לָךְ֙ עִ֣יר The city ʿîr הַצֶּ֔דֶק of righteousness, ṣedeq קִרְיָ֖ה city. qiryâ נֶאֱמָנָֽה׃ the faithful ʾāman
  27. צִיּ֖וֹן Zion ṣiyyôn בְּמִשְׁפָּ֣ט with judgment, mišpāṭ תִּפָּדֶ֑ה shall be redeemed pādâ וְשָׁבֶ֖יהָ and her converts šûb בִּצְדָקָֽה׃ with righteousness. ṣĕdāqâ
  28. וְשֶׁ֧בֶר And the destruction šeber פֹּשְׁעִ֛ים of the transgressors pāšaʿ וְחַטָּאִ֖ים and of the sinners ḥaṭṭāʾ יַחְדָּ֑ו together, yaḥad וְעֹזְבֵ֥י and they that forsake ʿāzab יְהוָ֖ה the Lord yĕhōwâ יִכְלֽוּ׃ shall be consumed. kālâ
  29. כִּ֣י For יֵבֹ֔שׁוּ they shall be ashamed bûš מֵאֵילִ֖ים of the oaks ʾayil אֲשֶׁ֣ר which ʾăšer חֲמַדְתֶּ֑ם ye have desired, ḥāmad וְתַ֨חְפְּר֔וּ and ye shall be confounded ḥāpēr מֵהַגַּנּ֖וֹת for the gardens gannâ אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer בְּחַרְתֶּֽם׃ ye have chosen. bāḥar
  30. כִּ֣י For תִֽהְי֔וּ ye shall be hāyâ כְּאֵלָ֖ה as an oak ʾēlâ נֹבֶ֣לֶת fadeth, nābēl עָלֶ֑הָ whose leaf ʿāle וּֽכְגַנָּ֔ה and as a garden gannâ אֲשֶׁר that ʾăšer מַ֖יִם water. mayim אֵ֥ין hath no ʾayin לָֽהּ׃
  31. וְהָיָ֤ה shall be hāyâ הֶחָסֹן֙ And the strong ḥāsōn לִנְעֹ֔רֶת as tow, nĕʿōret וּפֹעֲל֖וֹ and the maker pōʿal לְנִיצ֑וֹץ of it as a spark, nîṣôṣ וּבָעֲר֧וּ burn bāʿar שְׁנֵיהֶ֛ם and they shall both šĕnayim יַחְדָּ֖ו together, yaḥad וְאֵ֥ין and none ʾayin מְכַבֶּֽה׃ shall quench kābâ
