Isaiah 29:8
જેમ કોઇ ભૂખ્યો માણસ સ્વપ્નમાં આરોગે અને જાગે ત્યારે ભૂખ્યો ને ભૂખ્યો હોય છે, અથવા કોઇ તરસ્યો માણસ સ્વપ્નમાં પાણી પીએ, પણ જાગે ત્યારે તરસ્યો ને તરસ્યો હોય છે; તેમ તારા શત્રુઓ તારા પર ભવ્ય વિજય મેળવવાનું સ્વપ્ન જોશે, પણ તેથી તેઓનું કાઇં વળશે નહિ.

| hungry an | יַחֲלֹ֨ם | yaḥălōm | ya-huh-LOME |
| man dreameth, | הָרָעֵ֜ב | hārāʿēb | ha-ra-AVE |
| and, behold, | וְהִנֵּ֣ה | wĕhinnē | veh-hee-NAY |
| he eateth; | אוֹכֵ֗ל | ʾôkēl | oh-HALE |
| awaketh, he but | וְהֵקִיץ֮ | wĕhēqîṣ | veh-hay-KEETS |
| and his soul | וְרֵיקָ֣ה | wĕrêqâ | veh-ray-KA |
| is empty: | נַפְשׁוֹ֒ | napšô | nahf-SHOH |
| when as or | וְכַאֲשֶׁ֨ר | wĕkaʾăšer | veh-ha-uh-SHER |
| a thirsty man | יַחֲלֹ֤ם | yaḥălōm | ya-huh-LOME |
| dreameth, | הַצָּמֵא֙ | haṣṣāmēʾ | ha-tsa-MAY |
| behold, and, | וְהִנֵּ֣ה | wĕhinnē | veh-hee-NAY |
| he drinketh; | שֹׁתֶ֔ה | šōte | shoh-TEH |
| but he awaketh, | וְהֵקִיץ֙ | wĕhēqîṣ | veh-hay-KEETS |
| behold, and, | וְהִנֵּ֣ה | wĕhinnē | veh-hee-NAY |
| he is faint, | עָיֵ֔ף | ʿāyēp | ah-YAFE |
| and his soul | וְנַפְשׁ֖וֹ | wĕnapšô | veh-nahf-SHOH |
| appetite: hath | שׁוֹקֵקָ֑ה | šôqēqâ | shoh-kay-KA |
| so | כֵּ֣ן | kēn | kane |
| shall the multitude | יִֽהְיֶ֗ה | yihĕye | yee-heh-YEH |
| of all | הֲמוֹן֙ | hămôn | huh-MONE |
| nations the | כָּל | kāl | kahl |
| be, | הַגּוֹיִ֔ם | haggôyim | ha-ɡoh-YEEM |
| that fight | הַצֹּבְאִ֖ים | haṣṣōbĕʾîm | ha-tsoh-veh-EEM |
| against | עַל | ʿal | al |
| mount | הַ֥ר | har | hahr |
| Zion. | צִיּֽוֹן׃ | ṣiyyôn | tsee-yone |
