Ecclesiastes 9:1
એ બાબતમાં મેં જ્યારે કાળજીપૂર્વક તપાસ કરી તો મને જાણવા મળ્યું કે દરેકના કાર્યનું ફળ સદાચારી અને જ્ઞાની લોકો માટે પણ દેવ પર નિર્ભર છે. પણ કોઇ જાણતું નથી કે તેને પ્રેમ મળશે કે ધિક્કાર અથવા તેની પાસે શું આવશે?

| and the wise, | וְהַחֲכָמִ֛ים | wĕhaḥăkāmîm | veh-ha-huh-ha-MEEM |
| works, their and | וַעֲבָדֵיהֶ֖ם | waʿăbādêhem | va-uh-va-day-HEM |
| are in the hand | בְּיַ֣ד | bĕyad | beh-YAHD |
| God: of | הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים | hāʾĕlōhîm | ha-ay-loh-HEEM |
| no | גַּֽם | gam | ɡahm |
| man | אַהֲבָ֣ה | ʾahăbâ | ah-huh-VA |
| knoweth | גַם | gam | ɡahm |
| either | שִׂנְאָ֗ה | śinʾâ | seen-AH |
| love | אֵ֤ין | ʾên | ane |
| or | יוֹדֵ֙עַ֙ | yôdēʿa | yoh-DAY-AH |
| hatred | הָֽאָדָ֔ם | hāʾādām | ha-ah-DAHM |
| by all | הַכֹּ֖ל | hakkōl | ha-KOLE |
| that is before | לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃ | lipnêhem | leef-nay-HEM |
