וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said ʾāmar יְהוָה֙ Then the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses, mōše עַתָּ֣ה Now ʿattâ תִרְאֶ֔ה shalt thou see rāʾâ אֲשֶׁ֥ר what ʾăšer אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֖ה I will do ʿāśâ לְפַרְעֹ֑ה to Pharaoh: parʿō כִּ֣י for kî בְיָ֤ד hand yād חֲזָקָה֙ with a strong ḥāzāq יְשַׁלְּחֵ֔ם shall he let them go, šālaḥ וּבְיָ֣ד hand yād חֲזָקָ֔ה and with a strong ḥāzāq יְגָֽרְשֵׁ֖ם shall he drive them out gāraš מֵֽאַרְצֽוֹ׃ of his land. ʾereṣ

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר spake dābar אֱלֹהִ֖ים And God ʾĕlōhîm אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֑ה Moses, mōše וַיֹּ֥אמֶר and said ʾāmar אֵלָ֖יו unto ʾēl אֲנִ֥י him, I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord: yĕhōwâ

וָֽאֵרָ֗א And I appeared rāʾâ אֶל unto ʾēl אַבְרָהָ֛ם Abraham, ʾabrāhām אֶל unto ʾēl יִצְחָ֥ק Isaac, yiṣḥāq וְאֶֽל and unto ʾēl יַעֲקֹ֖ב Jacob, yaʿăqōb בְּאֵ֣ל by God ʾēl שַׁדָּ֑י Almighty, šadday וּשְׁמִ֣י but by my name šēm יְהוָ֔ה JEHOVAH yĕhōwâ לֹ֥א was I not lōʾ נוֹדַ֖עְתִּי known to them. yādaʿ לָהֶֽם׃

וְגַ֨ם And I have also gam הֲקִמֹ֤תִי established qûm אֶת ʾēt בְּרִיתִי֙ my covenant bĕrît אִתָּ֔ם with ʾēt לָתֵ֥ת them, to give nātan לָהֶ֖ם אֶת them ʾēt אֶ֣רֶץ the land ʾereṣ כְּנָ֑עַן of Canaan, kĕnaʿan אֵ֛ת ʾēt אֶ֥רֶץ the land ʾereṣ מְגֻֽרֵיהֶ֖ם of their pilgrimage, māgûr אֲשֶׁר wherein ʾăšer גָּ֥רוּ they were strangers. gûr בָֽהּ׃

וְגַ֣ם׀ have also gam אֲנִ֣י And I ʾănî שָׁמַ֗עְתִּי heard šāmaʿ אֶֽת ʾēt נַאֲקַת֙ the groaning nĕʾāqâ בְּנֵ֣י of the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl אֲשֶׁ֥ר whom ʾăšer מִצְרַ֖יִם the Egyptians miṣrayim מַֽעֲבִדִ֣ים keep in bondage; ʿābad אֹתָ֑ם ʾēt וָֽאֶזְכֹּ֖ר and I have remembered zākar אֶת ʾēt בְּרִיתִֽי׃ my covenant. bĕrît

לָכֵ֞ן Wherefore kēn אֱמֹ֥ר say ʾāmar לִבְנֵֽי unto the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵל֮ of Israel, yiśrāʾēl אֲנִ֣י I ʾănî יְהוָה֒ the Lord, yĕhōwâ וְהֽוֹצֵאתִ֣י and I will bring yāṣāʾ אֶתְכֶ֗ם ʾēt מִתַּ֙חַת֙ you out from under taḥat סִבְלֹ֣ת the burdens sĕbālâ מִצְרַ֔יִם of the Egyptians, miṣrayim וְהִצַּלְתִּ֥י and I will rid nāṣal אֶתְכֶ֖ם ʾēt מֵעֲבֹֽדָתָ֑ם you out of their bondage, ʿăbōdâ וְגָֽאַלְתִּ֤י and I will redeem gāʾal אֶתְכֶם֙ ʾēt בִּזְר֣וֹעַ arm, zĕrôaʿ נְטוּיָ֔ה you with a stretched out nāṭâ וּבִשְׁפָטִ֖ים judgments: šepeṭ גְּדֹלִֽים׃ and with great gādôl

וְלָֽקַחְתִּ֨י And I will take lāqaḥ אֶתְכֶ֥ם ʾēt לִי֙ לְעָ֔ם you to me for a people, ʿam וְהָיִ֥יתִי and I will be hāyâ לָכֶ֖ם לֵֽאלֹהִ֑ים to you a God: ʾĕlōhîm וִֽידַעְתֶּ֗ם and ye shall know yādaʿ כִּ֣י that kî אֲנִ֤י I ʾănî יְהוָה֙ the Lord yĕhōwâ אֱלֹ֣הֵיכֶ֔ם your God, ʾĕlōhîm הַמּוֹצִ֣יא which bringeth yāṣāʾ אֶתְכֶ֔ם ʾēt מִתַּ֖חַת you out from under taḥat סִבְל֥וֹת the burdens sĕbālâ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of the Egyptians. miṣrayim

וְהֵֽבֵאתִ֤י And I will bring bôʾ אֶתְכֶם֙ ʾēt אֶל you in unto ʾēl הָאָ֔רֶץ the land, ʾereṣ אֲשֶׁ֤ר concerning the which ʾăšer נָשָׂ֙אתִי֙ I did swear nāśāʾ אֶת ʾēt יָדִ֔י yād לָתֵ֣ת to give nātan אֹתָ֔הּ ʾēt לְאַבְרָהָ֥ם it to Abraham, ʾabrāhām לְיִצְחָ֖ק to Isaac, yiṣḥāq וּֽלְיַעֲקֹ֑ב and to Jacob; yaʿăqōb וְנָֽתַתִּ֨י and I will give nātan אֹתָ֥הּ ʾēt לָכֶ֛ם מֽוֹרָשָׁ֖ה it you for an heritage: môrāšâ אֲנִ֥י I ʾănî יְהוָֽה׃ the Lord. yĕhōwâ

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר spake dābar מֹשֶׁ֛ה And Moses mōše כֵּ֖ן so kēn אֶל unto ʾēl בְּנֵ֣י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel: yiśrāʾēl וְלֹ֤א not lōʾ שָֽׁמְעוּ֙ but they hearkened šāmaʿ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses mōše מִקֹּ֣צֶר for anguish qōṣer ר֔וּחַ of spirit, rûaḥ וּמֵֽעֲבֹדָ֖ה bondage. ʿăbōdâ קָשָֽׁה׃ and for cruel qāše

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר spake dābar יְהוָ֖ה And the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses, mōše לֵּאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar

בֹּ֣א Go in, bôʾ דַבֵּ֔ר speak dābar אֶל unto ʾēl פַּרְעֹ֖ה Pharaoh parʿō מֶ֣לֶךְ king melek מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt, miṣrayim וִֽישַׁלַּ֥ח go out šālaḥ אֶת that he let ʾēt בְּנֵֽי the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl מֵֽאַרְצֽוֹ׃ of his land. ʾereṣ

וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר spake dābar מֹשֶׁ֔ה And Moses mōše לִפְנֵ֥י before pānîm יְהוָ֖ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ לֵאמֹ֑ר saying, ʾāmar הֵ֤ן Behold, hēn בְּנֵֽי the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiśrāʾēl לֹֽא have not lōʾ שָׁמְע֣וּ hearkened šāmaʿ אֵלַ֔י unto ʾēl וְאֵיךְ֙ me; how ʾêk יִשְׁמָעֵ֣נִי hear šāmaʿ פַרְעֹ֔ה then shall Pharaoh parʿō וַֽאֲנִ֖י me, who ʾănî עֲרַ֥ל of uncircumcised ʿārēl שְׂפָתָֽיִם׃ lips? śāpâ

וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר spake dābar יְהוָה֮ And the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֣ה Moses mōše וְאֶֽל and unto ʾēl אַהֲרֹן֒ Aaron, ʾahărôn וַיְצַוֵּם֙ and gave them a charge ṣāwâ אֶל unto ʾēl בְּנֵ֣י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl וְאֶל and unto ʾēl פַּרְעֹ֖ה Pharaoh parʿō מֶ֣לֶךְ king melek מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt, miṣrayim לְהוֹצִ֥יא to bring yāṣāʾ אֶת ʾēt בְּנֵֽי the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl מֵאֶ֥רֶץ out of the land ʾereṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt. miṣrayim

אֵ֖לֶּה These ʾēlle רָאשֵׁ֣י the heads rōš בֵית houses: bayit אֲבֹתָ֑ם of their fathers' ʾāb בְּנֵ֨י The sons bēn רְאוּבֵ֜ן of Reuben rĕʾûbēn בְּכֹ֣ר the firstborn bĕkôr יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel; yiśrāʾēl חֲנ֤וֹךְ Hanoch, ḥănôk וּפַלּוּא֙ and Pallu, pallûʾ חֶצְרֹ֣ן Hezron, ḥeṣrôn וְכַרְמִ֔י and Carmi: karmî אֵ֖לֶּה these ʾēlle מִשְׁפְּחֹ֥ת the families mišpāḥâ רְאוּבֵֽן׃ of Reuben. rĕʾûbēn

וּבְנֵ֣י And the sons bēn שִׁמְע֗וֹן of Simeon; šimʿôn יְמוּאֵ֨ל Jemuel, yĕmûʾēl וְיָמִ֤ין and Jamin, yāmîn וְאֹ֙הַד֙ and Ohad, ʾōhad וְיָכִ֣ין and Jachin, yākîn וְצֹ֔חַר and Zohar, ṣōḥar וְשָׁא֖וּל and Shaul šāʾûl בֶּן the son bēn הַֽכְּנַעֲנִ֑ית of a Canaanitish woman: kĕnaʿanî אֵ֖לֶּה these ʾēlle מִשְׁפְּחֹ֥ת the families mišpāḥâ שִׁמְעֽוֹן׃ of Simeon. šimʿôn

וְאֵ֨לֶּה And these ʾēlle שְׁמ֤וֹת the names šēm בְּנֵֽי of the sons bēn לֵוִי֙ of Levi lēwî לְתֹ֣לְדֹתָ֔ם according to their generations; tôlĕdâ גֵּֽרְשׁ֕וֹן Gershon, gērĕšôn וּקְהָ֖ת and Kohath, qĕhāt וּמְרָרִ֑י and Merari: mĕrārî וּשְׁנֵי֙ and the years šāne חַיֵּ֣י of the life ḥay לֵוִ֔י of Levi lēwî שֶׁ֧בַע and seven šebaʿ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֛ים thirty šĕlôšîm וּמְאַ֖ת an hundred mēʾâ שָׁנָֽה׃ years. šāne

בְּנֵ֥י The sons bēn גֵֽרְשׁ֛וֹן of Gershon; gērĕšôn לִבְנִ֥י Libni, libnî וְשִׁמְעִ֖י and Shimi, šimʿî לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃ according to their families. mišpāḥâ

וּבְנֵ֣י And the sons bēn קְהָ֔ת of Kohath; qĕhāt עַמְרָ֣ם Amram, ʿamrām וְיִצְהָ֔ר and Izhar, yiṣhār וְחֶבְר֖וֹן and Hebron, ḥebrôn וְעֻזִּיאֵ֑ל and Uzziel: ʿuzzîʾēl וּשְׁנֵי֙ and the years šāne חַיֵּ֣י of the life ḥay קְהָ֔ת of Kohath qĕhāt שָׁלֹ֧שׁ and three šālôš וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֛ים thirty šĕlôšîm וּמְאַ֖ת an hundred mēʾâ שָׁנָֽה׃ years. šāne

וּבְנֵ֥י And the sons bēn מְרָרִ֖י of Merari; mĕrārî מַחְלִ֣י Mahali maḥlî וּמוּשִׁ֑י and Mushi: mûšî אֵ֛לֶּה these ʾēlle מִשְׁפְּחֹ֥ת the families mišpāḥâ הַלֵּוִ֖י of Levi lēwî לְתֹֽלְדֹתָֽם׃ according to their generations. tôlĕdâ

וַיִּקַּ֨ח took lāqaḥ עַמְרָ֜ם And Amram ʿamrām אֶת him ʾēt יוֹכֶ֤בֶד Jochebed yôkebed דֹּֽדָתוֹ֙ his father's sister dôdâ ל֣וֹ לְאִשָּׁ֔ה to wife; ʾiššâ וַתֵּ֣לֶד and she bare yālad ל֔וֹ אֶֽת him ʾēt אַהֲרֹ֖ן Aaron ʾahărôn וְאֶת ʾēt מֹשֶׁ֑ה and Moses: mōše וּשְׁנֵי֙ and the years šāne חַיֵּ֣י of the life ḥay עַמְרָ֔ם of Amram ʿamrām שֶׁ֧בַע and seven šebaʿ וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֛ים and thirty šĕlôšîm וּמְאַ֖ת an hundred mēʾâ שָׁנָֽה׃ years. šāne

וּבְנֵ֖י And the sons bēn יִצְהָ֑ר of Izhar; yiṣhār קֹ֥רַח Korah, qōraḥ וָנֶ֖פֶג and Nepheg, nepeg וְזִכְרִֽי׃ and Zichri. zikrî

וּבְנֵ֖י And the sons bēn עֻזִּיאֵ֑ל of Uzziel; ʿuzzîʾēl מִֽישָׁאֵ֥ל Mishael, mîšāʾēl וְאֶלְצָפָ֖ן and Elzaphan, ʾĕlîṣāpān וְסִתְרִֽי׃ and Zithri. sitrî

וַיִּקַּ֨ח took lāqaḥ אַֽהֲרֹ֜ן And Aaron ʾahărôn אֶת him ʾēt אֱלִישֶׁ֧בַע Elisheba, ʾĕlîšebaʿ בַּת daughter bat עַמִּֽינָדָ֛ב of Amminadab, ʿammînādāb אֲח֥וֹת sister ʾāḥôt נַחְשׁ֖וֹן of Naashon, naḥšôn ל֣וֹ לְאִשָּׁ֑ה to wife; ʾiššâ וַתֵּ֣לֶד and she bare yālad ל֗וֹ אֶת him ʾēt נָדָב֙ Nadab, nādāb וְאֶת ʾēt אֲבִיה֔וּא and Abihu, ʾăbîhûʾ אֶת ʾēt אֶלְעָזָ֖ר Eleazar, ʾelʿāzār וְאֶת ʾēt אִֽיתָמָֽר׃ and Ithamar. ʾîtāmār

וּבְנֵ֣י And the sons bēn קֹ֔רַח of Korah; qōraḥ אַסִּ֥יר Assir, ʾassîr וְאֶלְקָנָ֖ה and Elkanah, ʾelqānâ וַאֲבִֽיאָסָ֑ף and Abiasaph: ʾăbîʾāsāp אֵ֖לֶּה these ʾēlle מִשְׁפְּחֹ֥ת the families mišpāḥâ הַקָּרְחִֽי׃ of the Korhites. qorḥî

וְאֶלְעָזָ֨ר And Eleazar ʾelʿāzār בֶּֽן son bēn אַהֲרֹ֜ן Aaron's ʾahărôn לָקַֽח took lāqaḥ ל֨וֹ מִבְּנ֤וֹת him of the daughters bat פּֽוּטִיאֵל֙ of Putiel pûṭîʾēl ל֣וֹ לְאִשָּׁ֔ה to wife; ʾiššâ וַתֵּ֥לֶד and she bare yālad ל֖וֹ אֶת him ʾēt פִּֽינְחָ֑ס Phinehas: pînĕḥās אֵ֗לֶּה these ʾēlle רָאשֵׁ֛י the heads rōš אֲב֥וֹת of the fathers ʾāb הַלְוִיִּ֖ם of the Levites lēwiyyî לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָֽם׃ according to their families. mišpāḥâ

ה֥וּא These hûʾ אַֽהֲרֹ֖ן that Aaron ʾahărôn וּמֹשֶׁ֑ה and Moses, mōše אֲשֶׁ֨ר to whom ʾăšer אָמַ֤ר said, ʾāmar יְהוָה֙ the Lord yĕhōwâ לָהֶ֔ם הוֹצִ֜יאוּ Bring out yāṣāʾ אֶת ʾēt בְּנֵ֧י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl מֵאֶ֥רֶץ from the land ʾereṣ מִצְרַ֖יִם of Egypt miṣrayim עַל according to ʿal צִבְאֹתָֽם׃ their armies. ṣābāʾ

הֵ֗ם These hēm הַֽמְדַבְּרִים֙ they which spake dābar אֶל to ʾēl פַּרְעֹ֣ה Pharaoh parʿō מֶֽלֶךְ king melek מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt, miṣrayim לְהוֹצִ֥יא to bring out yāṣāʾ אֶת ʾēt בְּנֵֽי the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם from Egypt: miṣrayim ה֥וּא these that hûʾ מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses mōše וְאַֽהֲרֹֽן׃ and Aaron. ʾahărôn

וַיְהִ֗י And it came to pass hāyâ בְּי֨וֹם on the day yôm דִּבֶּ֧ר spake dābar יְהוָ֛ה the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses mōše בְּאֶ֥רֶץ in the land ʾereṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt, miṣrayim

וַיְדַבֵּ֧ר spake dābar יְהוָ֛ה That the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל unto ʾēl מֹשֶׁ֥ה Moses, mōše לֵּאמֹ֖ר saying, ʾāmar אֲנִ֣י I ʾănî יְהוָ֑ה the Lord: yĕhōwâ דַּבֵּ֗ר speak dābar אֶל thou unto ʾēl פַּרְעֹה֙ Pharaoh parʿō מֶ֣לֶךְ king melek מִצְרַ֔יִם of Egypt miṣrayim אֵ֛ת ʾēt כָּל all kōl אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ʾăšer אֲנִ֖י I ʾănî דֹּבֵ֥ר say dābar אֵלֶֽיךָ׃ unto thee. ʾēl

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר said ʾāmar מֹשֶׁ֖ה And Moses mōše לִפְנֵ֣י before pānîm יְהוָ֑ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ הֵ֤ן Behold, hēn אֲנִי֙ I ʾănî עֲרַ֣ל of uncircumcised ʿārēl שְׂפָתַ֔יִם lips, śāpâ וְאֵ֕יךְ and how ʾêk יִשְׁמַ֥ע hearken šāmaʿ אֵלַ֖י unto me? ʾēl פַּרְעֹֽה׃ shall Pharaoh parʿō
