அவள் தேவனிடம் ஒரு விசேஷ வாக்குறுதியைக் கொடுத்தாள். அவள், “சர்வ வல்லமையுள்ள கர்த்தாவே, நான் எவ்வளவு துக்கத்தில் இருக்கிறேன் என்பதைப் பாரும். என்னை நினைவு கூறும்! என்னை மறவாதேயும். நீர் எனக்கு ஒரு மகனைத் தந்தால், நான் அவனை உமக்கே தருவேன். அவன் நசரேயனாக இருப்பான். அவன் திராட்சை ரசமோ அல்லது வெறிகொள்ளத்தக்கவைகளை அருந்தாமலும் இருப்பான். எவரும் அவனது தலை மயிரை வெட்டாமல் இருப்பார்கள்” என்று வேண்டிக்கொண்டாள்.
