Nehemiah 3
1 মহাযাজক ইলীয়াশীব ও তাঁর যাজক ভাইরা কাজ শুরু করলেন এবং মেষ-দ্বারটি নির্মাণ করলেন| তারপর তাঁরা ঈশ্বরের কাছে সেটি পবিত্র বস্তু হিসেবে উত্সর্গীকৃত করলেন এবং তাঁরা দরজাগুলি দেওয়ালের গায়ে যথাস্থানে স্থাপন করলেন| তাঁরা একশো স্তম্ভ এবং হননেলের স্তম্ভ পর্য়ন্ত জেরুশালেমের প্রাচীর নির্মাণ করলেন এবং তাঁদের কাজ ঈশ্বরকে উত্সর্গ করলেন|
2 যাজকের পাশের দেওয়ালটি বানালেন য়িরীহোর বাসিন্দারা| আর তার পাশেরটি বানালেন ইম্রির পুত্র সক্কূর|
3 হস্সনাযার পুত্রগণ মত্স্য-দ্বারটি আবার বানাল| তারা বর্গাগুলি যথাস্থানে বসালো, ইমারতটিতে দরজা বসালো এবং তাতে ছিটকিনি ও তালাচাবি লাগালো|
4 দেওয়ালের পরের অংশটি হক্কোসের পৌত্র, ঊরিযের পুত্র মরেমোত্ পুনর্নিমাণ করল|তারপর মশুল্লম, বেরিখিযের পুত্র মশেষবেলের পৌত্র, পরেরটি মেরামত্ করল এবং তারপর দেওয়ালের পরের অংশটি বানার পুত্র সাদোক মেরামত্ করল|
5 দেওয়ালের পরের অংশটি যদিও তকোযার ব্যক্তিরা মেরামত্ করল কিন্তু তাদের নেতৃবর্গ তাদের রাজ্যপাল নহিমিয়র জন্য কোন কাযিক পরিশ্রম করতে অস্বীকার করল|
6 পুরোনো ফটকটি পাসেহের পুত্র যিহোয়াদা ও বসোদিযার পুত্র মশুল্লম মেরামত করল| তারা যথাস্থানে কড়ি-বর্গা বসিযে দরজায কব্জৃা লাগিয়ে তাতে তালা এবং ছিটকিনি সংয়োগ করল|
7 গিবিয়োনীয় মলাটিয ও মেরোণোথীয যাদোন এবং গিবিয়োন ও মিস্পার অন্য লোকরা দেওয়ালের পরের অংশটি মেরামত্ করল| গিবিয়োন ও মেরোণোথ পশ্চিম ফরাত্ জেলার রাজ্যপালের দ্বারা শাসিত হত|
8 এরপরের অংশটি হর্হযের পুত্র উষীযেল মেরামত্ করল| উষীযেল ছিল একজন স্বর্ণকার| হনানিয সুগন্ধ বানাত এবং সে পরের অংশটি মেরামত্ করল| ঐসব লোকরা দেওয়ালটিকে প্রশস্ত প্রাচীর অবধি গাঁথল|
9 পরের অংশটি মেরামত্ করল হূরের পুত্র রফায| রফায জেরুশালেমের অর্ধেকের রাজ্যপাল ছিলেন|
10 এরপর হরূমফের পুত্র য়িদায একেবারে নিজের বাড়ির উলেটাদিক পর্য়ন্ত দেওয়ালটি বানালো| পরের অংশটি বানালো হশব্নিযের পুত্র হটুশ|
11 হারীমের পুত্র মল্কিয ও পহত্- মোয়াবের পুত্র হশূব পরের অংশটি এবং চুল্লী-গম্বুজও মেরামত্ করল|
12 হলোহেশের পুত্র শল্লুম তার কন্যাদের সাহায়্য়ে দেওয়ালের পরের অংশটি তৈরী করল| শল্লুম জেরুশালেমের অপর অর্ধেকের রাজ্যপাল ছিলেন|
13 হানূন নামে এক ব্যক্তি এবং সানোহের লোকরা উপত্যকার ফটকটি মেরামত্ করল| তারা দরজাটি কব্জার ওপর বসিযে তাতে তালা-চাবি দিল এবং ছাইগাদা-ফটক পর্য়ন্ত 500 গজ দেওয়াল মেরামত্ করল|
14 মল্কিয ছিল রেখবের পুত্র এবং বৈত্হক্কেরমের রাজ্যপাল| সে ছাইগাদার ফটকটি মেরামত্ করল এবং ছিটকিনি ও তালাসহ দরজাটি কব্জার ওপর বসাল|
15 কল্হোষির পুত্র শল্লুম ঝর্ণা-ফটকটি মেরামত্ করল| শল্লুম ছিলেন মিস্পা জেলার রাজ্যপাল| তিনি ফটকটি মেরামত্ করলেন এবং তার মাথায় একটি ছাদ বানালেন| তিনি এর দরজাগুলি তালা ও ছিটকিনিসহ বসালেন| এছাড়া, শল্লুম রাজবাগিচার পাশে শীলোহ পুকুরের দেওয়ালও মেরামত্ করলেন| দেওয়ালটি দায়ূদ নগরের যেখান থেকে যে সিঁড়ি নেমে এসেছে সেখান পর্য়ন্ত তিনি মেরামত্ করলেন|
16 দেওয়ালের পরের অংশটি অস্বূকের পুত্র নহিমিয় মেরামত্ করল| নহিমিয় বৈত্সূর জেলার অর্ধেকের রাজ্যপাল ছিলেন| তিনি দায়ূদের পরিবারের সমাধিগুলোর উলেটাদিক পর্য়ন্ত এবং মানুষের দ্বারা তৈরী পুকুর এবং “বীর-গৃহ” পর্য়ন্ত কাজ করলেন|
17 দেওয়ালের পরের অংশ বানির পুত্র রহূমের নির্দেশে লেবীয় পরিবারগোষ্ঠীরা বানাল| হশবিয দেওয়ালের পরের অংশটি মেরামত্ করল| তিনি কিযীলা প্রদেশের অর্ধেকের রাজ্যপাল ছিলেন| তিনি তার নিজের জেলাতেও মেরামত্ করলেন|
18 দেওয়ালের পরের অংশ তাঁদের ভাইরা মেরামত্ করেছিল| তারা হেনাদদের পুত্র বিন্নুই এর অধীনে কাজ করেছিল| বিন্নুই কিযীলার অপর অর্ধেকের রাজ্যপাল ছিলেন|
19 এর পরের অংশ যেশূযের পুত্র এসর মেরামত্ করলেন| এসর মিস্পার রাজ্যপাল ছিলেন| তিনি অস্ত্রাগার থেকে প্রাচীরের একটি কোণ পর্য়ন্ত দেওয়াল মেরামত্ করেছিল|
20 সব্বয়ের পুত্র বারূক এক কোণ থেকে মহাযাজক ইলিয়াশীবের বাড়ির দরজা পর্য়ন্ত দেওয়ালের অংশটি মেরামত্ করেছিল|
21 ইলিয়াশীবের বাড়ির প্রবেশপথ থেকে বাড়ির অন্য প্রান্ত পর্য়ন্ত দেওয়ালের অংশটি হক্কোসের পৌত্র, ঊরিযের পুত্র মরেমোত্ মেরামত্ করল|
22 পরের কিছুটা অংশ ওই অঞ্চলে বসবাসকারী যাজকরা মেরামত্ করলেন|
23 বিন্যামীন ও হশূব যে যার নিজের বাড়ির সামনের দেওয়ালটুকু ঠিক করার পর অননিয়ের পৌত্র ও মাসেযের পুত্র অসরিয়ও নিজের বাড়ির সামনের দেওয়ালটুকু মেরামত্ করল|
24 হেনাদদের পুত্র বিন্নূযী অসরিয়ের বাড়ি থেকে শুরু করে দেওয়ালের বাঁক হয়ে কোণ পর্য়ন্ত অংশটি তুলে ফেলল|
25 উষযের পুত্র পালল দেওয়ালের বাঁকে স্তম্ভের কাছে যেটি উচ্চ প্রাসাদ থেকে বেরিয়ে এসেছে, যেটি আবার রাজার প্রহরীর উঠোনের কাছে অবস্থিত সেই খানে দেওয়াল তুলল| পরোশের পুত্র পদায পাললের পরে কাজ করল|
26 মন্দিরের দাসরা ওফল পাহাড়ের ওপর বাস করছিল| তারা স্তম্ভের কাছে জলদ্বারের পূর্বাংশ পর্য়ন্ত মেরামতের কাজগুলি করল|
27 তকোযীর লোকরা বড় স্তম্ভটি থেকে শুরু করে ওফলের দেওয়াল পর্য়ন্ত দেওয়ালের বাদবাকি অংশটি মেরামত্ করল|
28 যাজকরা অশ্ব-দ্বারের ওপরের অংশ বানিয়ে ফেলল| প্রত্যেক যাজক যে যার নিজের বাড়ির দেওয়াল গাঁথল|
29 এরপর ইম্মেরের পুত্র সাদোক নিজের বাড়ির সামনের দেওয়াল ও শখনিয়ের পুত্র শময়িয় দেওয়ালের তারপরের অংশটুকু মেরামত্ করে নিল| সে ছিল পূর্বদ্বারের জনৈক প্রহরী|
30 শেলিমিযের পুত্র হনানিয ও সালফের পুত্র হানূন (হানূন ছিল সালফের য়ষ্ঠ পুত্র) দেওয়ালের পরের অংশ মেরামত্ করল|বেরিখিযের পুত্র মশুল্লম তার নিজের বাড়ির সামনে দেওয়ালের অংশ মেরামত্ করল|
31 মল্কিয নামে এক স্বর্ণকার পর্য়বেক্ষণ দ্বারের বিপরীতে মন্দির দাস ও ব্যবসাযীদের বাড়ি পর্য়ন্ত অংশের দেওয়াল মেরামত্ করল|
32 বাকী অংশ অর্থাত্ কোণের দিকে ওপরের ঘর থেকে মেষদ্বার পর্য়ন্ত অংশ স্বর্ণকাররা ও ব্যবসাযীরা মেরামত্ করল|
1 Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.
2 And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri.
3 But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
4 And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana.
5 And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord.
6 Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
7 And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river.
8 Next unto him repaired Uzziel the son of Harhaiah, of the goldsmiths. Next unto him also repaired Hananiah the son of one of the apothecaries, and they fortified Jerusalem unto the broad wall.
9 And next unto them repaired Rephaiah the son of Hur, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem.
10 And next unto them repaired Jedaiah the son of Harumaph, even over against his house. And next unto him repaired Hattush the son of Hashabniah.
11 Malchijah the son of Harim, and Hashub the son of Pahath-moab, repaired the other piece, and the tower of the furnaces.
12 And next unto him repaired Shallum the son of Halohesh, the ruler of the half part of Jerusalem, he and his daughters.
13 The valley gate repaired Hanun, and the inhabitants of Zanoah; they built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and a thousand cubits on the wall unto the dung gate.
14 But the dung gate repaired Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Beth-haccerem; he built it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
15 But the gate of the fountain repaired Shallun the son of Col-hozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah; he built it, and covered it, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof, and the wall of the pool of Siloah by the king’s garden, and unto the stairs that go down from the city of David.
16 After him repaired Nehemiah the son of Azbuk, the ruler of the half part of Beth-zur, unto the place over against the sepulchres of David, and to the pool that was made, and unto the house of the mighty.
17 After him repaired the Levites, Rehum the son of Bani. Next unto him repaired Hashabiah, the ruler of the half part of Keilah, in his part.
18 After him repaired their brethren, Bavai the son of Henadad, the ruler of the half part of Keilah.
19 And next to him repaired Ezer the son of Jeshua, the ruler of Mizpah, another piece over against the going up to the armoury at the turning of the wall.
20 After him Baruch the son of Zabbai earnestly repaired the other piece, from the turning of the wall unto the door of the house of Eliashib the high priest.
21 After him repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah the son of Koz another piece, from the door of the house of Eliashib even to the end of the house of Eliashib.
22 And after him repaired the priests, the men of the plain.
23 After him repaired Benjamin and Hashub over against their house. After him repaired Azariah the son of Maaseiah the son of Ananiah by his house.
24 After him repaired Binnui the son of Henadad another piece, from the house of Azariah unto the turning of the wall, even unto the corner.
25 Palal the son of Uzai, over against the turning of the wall, and the tower which lieth out from the king’s high house, that was by the court of the prison. After him Pedaiah the son of Parosh.
26 Moreover the Nethinims dwelt in Ophel, unto the place over against the water gate toward the east, and the tower that lieth out.
27 After them the Tekoites repaired another piece, over against the great tower that lieth out, even unto the wall of Ophel.
28 From above the horse gate repaired the priests, every one over against his house.
29 After them repaired Zadok the son of Immer over against his house. After him repaired also Shemaiah the son of Shechaniah, the keeper of the east gate.
30 After him repaired Hananiah the son of Shelemiah, and Hanun the sixth son of Zalaph, another piece. After him repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah over against his chamber.
31 After him repaired Malchiah the goldsmith’s son unto the place of the Nethinims, and of the merchants, over against the gate Miphkad, and to the going up of the corner.
32 And between the going up of the corner unto the sheep gate repaired the goldsmiths and the merchants.

1 ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷವು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿ ಯರ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ತಿಂಗಳು ಇತ್ತು.
And the ark of the Lord was in the country of the Philistines seven months.
2 ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಪೂಜಾರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಣಿ ಹೇಳುವ ವರನ್ನೂ ಕರಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ನಾವೇನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು? ನಾವು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಅದರ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವದು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ ಅಂದರು.
And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do to the ark of the Lord? tell us wherewith we shall send it to his place.
3 ಅದಕ್ಕವ ರು--ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಬರಿದಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸದೆ ಅದರ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಅಪರಾಧ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ; ಆಗ ನೀವು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥ ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವಿರಿ. ಆತನ ಕೈ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗದೆ ಇರುವ ಕಾರಣ ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಲ್ಪಡುವದು ಅಂದರು.
And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any wise return him a trespass offering: then ye shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why his hand is not removed from you.
4 ಆಗ ಅವರು--ಅಪ ರಾಧ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಅದರ ಸಂಗಡ ಕಳುಹಿಸ ತಕ್ಕದ್ದೇನು ಅಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕವರು--ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಅಧಿ ಪತಿಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ಗಡ್ಡೆವ್ಯಾಧಿಯ ವಿಧವಾದ ಐದು ಬಂಗಾರದ ಗಡ್ಡೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಐದು ಇಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮೆ ಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ತರವಾದ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯು ಅದೆ.
Then said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your lords.
5 ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗಡ್ಡೆವ್ಯಾಧಿಯ ರೂಪಗಳನ್ನೂ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಇಲಿ ಗಳ ರೂಪಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೀವು ಮಾಡಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಇರುವ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಹಗುರಮಾಡುವನು.
Wherefore ye shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give glory unto the God of Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
6 ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರೂ ಫರೋಹನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸುವದೇನು? ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಆತನು ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವಾದ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?
7 ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನೀವು ಒಂದು ಹೊಸ ಬಂಡಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ಹೊರದೆ ಇರುವ ಹಾಲು ಕರೆಯುವ ಎರಡು ಹಸುಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಡಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಅವುಗಳ ಕರುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವುಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗದ ಹಾಗೆ ಮನೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು
Now therefore make a new cart, and take two milch kine, on which there hath come no yoke, and tie the kine to the cart, and bring their calves home from them:
8 ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು, ಬಂಡಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ನೀವು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಕೊಡುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಪರಾಧ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯಾದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಆಭರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ; ಆಗ ನೋಡಿರಿ.
And take the ark of the Lord, and lay it upon the cart; and put the jewels of gold, which ye return him for a trespass offering, in a coffer by the side thereof; and send it away, that it may go.
9 ಅದು ತನ್ನ ಮೇರೆಯಾದ ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಹೋದರೆ ಆತನು ಈ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಆತನ ಹಸ್ತವು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅದು ನಮಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಿಯಾಯಿತೆಂದು ತಿಳುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಅಂದರು.
And see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Beth-shemesh, then he hath done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that smote us; it was a chance that happened to us.
10 ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಆ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಎರಡು ಕರೆ ಯುವ ಹಸುಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಡಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಅವುಗಳ ಕರುಗಳನ್ನು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು
And the men did so; and took two milch kine, and tied them to the cart, and shut up their calves at home:
11 ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನೂ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಇಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಗಡ್ಡೆವ್ಯಾಧಿಯ ರೂಪಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡಿಯುವ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಯನ್ನೂ ಆ ಬಂಡಿಯ ಮೇಲಿಟ್ಟರು.
And they laid the ark of the Lord upon the cart, and the coffer with the mice of gold and the images of their emerods.
12 ಆಗ ಹಸುಗಳು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಬಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎಡಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗದೆ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದವು; ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನ ಮೇರೆಯವರೆಗೂ ಅವುಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದರು.
And the kine took the straight way to the way of Beth-shemesh, and went along the highway, lowing as they went, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them unto the border of Beth-shemesh.
13 ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಧಿಯ ಪೈರನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು.
And they of Beth-shemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley: and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it.
14 ಆ ಬಂಡಿಯು ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನ ಊರಿನವನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ನಿಂತಿತು.
And the cart came into the field of Joshua, a Beth-shemite, and stood there, where there was a great stone: and they clave the wood of the cart, and offered the kine a burnt offering unto the Lord.
15 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಲ್ಲು ಇತ್ತು. ಆಗ ಅವರು ಆ ಬಂಡಿಯ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸೀಳಿ ಹಸು ಗಳನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ದಹನಬಲಿಯಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ಲೇವಿಯರು ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ ಇಳಿಸಿ ಆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಮೇಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ದಹನಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿ ದರು.
And the Levites took down the ark of the Lord, and the coffer that was with it, wherein the jewels of gold were, and put them on the great stone: and the men of Beth-shemesh offered burnt offerings and sacrificed sacrifices the same day unto the Lord.
16 ಆದರೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಎಕ್ರೋನಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
And when the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to Ekron the same day.
17 ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಅಪರಾಧ ಬಲಿಗಾಗಿ ಅಷ್ಡೋದಿ ನಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಗಾಜಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಒಂದು ಅಷ್ಕೆಲೋನಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಒಂದು ಗತ್ನಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಗಡ್ಡೆವ್ಯಾಧಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತದಿಂದ ಒಂದೊಂದು ಬಂಗಾರದ ರೂಪಗಳನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
And these are the golden emerods which the Philistines returned for a trespass offering unto the Lord; for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Askelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one;
18 ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಇಲಿಗಳು ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನವನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ದಿನದ ವರೆಗೂ ಇರುವ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ಇಳಿಸಿದ ಅಬೇಲೆಂಬ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ವರೆಗೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಬಲವುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ, ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳ, ಲೆಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದವು.
And the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities, and of country villages, even unto the great stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of the Lord: which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Beth-shemite.
19 ಆದರೆ ಬೇತ್ಷೆ ಮೆಷಿನ ಜನರು ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದ ರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರೊಳಗೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರದ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಸಾಯಿಸಿದನು.
And he smote the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the Lord had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter.
20 ತಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಹಾರವಾಗಿ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನು ಸಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟು--ಈ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲತಕ್ಕವನಾರು? ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಆತನು ಹೋಗತಕ್ಕ ಸ್ಥಳ ಯಾವದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy Lord God? and to whom shall he go up from us?
21 ಅವರು ಕಿರ್ಯತ್ಯಾರೀಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ ದೂತ ರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ--ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷ ವನ್ನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ನೀವು ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದು ಅದನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು
And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjath-jearim, saying, The Philistines have brought again the ark of the Lord; come ye down, and fetch it up to you.
