পরে অযের রাজা ইস্রায়েলীয় সৈন্যবাহিনীকে দেখতে পেলেন| ইস্রায়েলীয় সৈন্যবাহিনীর বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করতে রাজা এবং তাঁর লোকরা বেরিয়ে পড়ল| অযের রাজা যর্দন উপত্যকার কাছে শহরের পূর্বদিকে গেলেন| তাই তিনি শহরের পেছন দিকে লুকিয়ে থাকা ইস্রায়েলীয় সৈন্যদের দেখতে পেলেন না|
