அதில் ஒரு துண்டை அடுப்பில் எரிக்கிறான்; ஒரு துண்டினால் இறைச்சியைச் சமைத்துப் புசித்து, பொரியலைப்பொரித்து திருப்தியாகி குளிருங்காய்ந்து: ஆஆ, அனலானேன்; நெருப்பைக் கண்டேன் என்று சொல்லி;

மனிதன் பாதி மரத்துண்டுகளை நெருப்பில் எரித்தான். மனிதன் அந்த நெருப்பை இறைச்சியை சமைக்கப் பயன்படுத்தினான். அதனை வயிறு நிரம்பும்வரை சாப்பிடுகிறான். மனிதன் தன்னை வெப்பப்படுத்திக்கொள்ள மரத்துண்டுகளை எரிக்கிறான். மனிதன் கூறுகிறான், “நல்லது நான் இப்போது வெப்பமாக இருக்கிறேன். என்னால் பார்க்கமுடியும் ஏனென்றால், நெருப்பிலிருந்து ஒளி வருகிறது”.
