இஸ்ரவேலர் முறிந்தோடினார்கள் என்றும், சவுலும் அவன் குமாரரும் செத்துப்போனார்கள் என்றும், பள்ளத்தாக்குக்கு இப்பாலும் யோர்தானுக்கு இப்பாலும் இருந்த இஸ்ரவேலர் கண்டபோது, அவர்கள் பட்டணங்களை விட்டு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தர் வந்து, அவைகளிலே குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

பள்ளத்தாக்கின் மறு பக்கத்தில் இருந்த இஸ்ரவேலர் தங்கள் சேனை பயந்து ஓடுவதைக் கண்டனர். சவுலும் அவனது மகன்களும் மரித்துப்போனதை அறிந்தனர். எனவே அவர்கள் தங்கள் நகரங்களைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனார்கள். பெலிஸ்தியர் அந்நகரங்களை ஆக்கிரமித்துக் கொண்டனர்.

Isravaelar murinthotinaarkal entum, savulum avan kumaararum seththupponaarkal entum, pallaththaakkukku ippaalum yorthaanukku ippaalum iruntha isravaelar kanndapothu, avarkal pattanangalai vittu otipponaarkal; appoluthu pelisthar vanthu, avaikalilae kutiyirunthaarkal.
