וַיְהִ֣י And it came to pass hāyâ בִשְׁמוֹנִ֣ים and eightieth šĕmōnîm שָׁנָ֣ה šāne וְאַרְבַּ֣ע in the four ʾarbaʿ מֵא֣וֹת hundred mēʾâ שָׁנָ֡ה year šāne לְצֵ֣את were come out yāṣāʾ בְּנֵֽי after the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל of Israel yiśrāʾēl מֵאֶֽרֶץ of the land ʾereṣ מִצְרַיִם֩ of Egypt, miṣrayim בַּשָּׁנָ֨ה year šāne הָֽרְבִיעִ֜ית in the fourth rĕbîʿî בְּחֹ֣דֶשׁ in the month ḥōdeš זִ֗ו Zif, ziw ה֚וּא which hûʾ הַחֹ֣דֶשׁ month, ḥōdeš הַשֵּׁנִ֔י the second šēnî לִמְלֹ֥ךְ reign mālak שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה of Solomon's šĕlōmō עַל over ʿal יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel, yiśrāʾēl וַיִּ֥בֶן that he began to build bānâ הַבַּ֖יִת the house bayit לַֽיהוָֽה׃ of the Lord. yĕhōwâ

וְהַבַּ֗יִת And the house bayit אֲשֶׁ֨ר which ʾăšer בָּנָ֜ה built bānâ הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ king melek שְׁלֹמֹה֙ Solomon šĕlōmō לַֽיהוָ֔ה for the Lord, yĕhōwâ שִׁשִּׁים thereof threescore šiššîm אַמָּ֥ה cubits, ʾammâ אָרְכּ֖וֹ the length ʾōrek וְעֶשְׂרִ֤ים thereof twenty ʿeśrîm רָחְבּ֑וֹ and the breadth rōḥab וּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים thereof thirty šĕlôšîm אַמָּ֖ה cubits. ʾammâ קֽוֹמָתֽוֹ׃ and the height qômâ

וְהָֽאוּלָ֗ם And the porch ʾûlām עַל ʿal פְּנֵי֙ before pānîm הֵיכַ֣ל the temple hêkāl הַבַּ֔יִת of the house, bayit עֶשְׂרִ֣ים twenty ʿeśrîm אַמָּה֙ cubits ʾammâ אָרְכּ֔וֹ the length ʾōrek עַל thereof, according ʿal פְּנֵ֖י pānîm רֹ֣חַב to the breadth rōḥab הַבָּ֑יִת of the house; bayit עֶ֧שֶׂר ten ʿeśer בָּֽאַמָּ֛ה cubits ʾammâ רָחְבּ֖וֹ the breadth rōḥab עַל thereof before ʿal פְּנֵ֥י pānîm הַבָּֽיִת׃ the house. bayit

וַיַּ֣עַשׂ he made ʿāśâ לַבָּ֔יִת And for the house bayit חַלּוֹנֵ֖י windows ḥallôn שְׁקֻפִ֥ים lights. šāqup אֲטוּמִֽים׃ of narrow ʾāṭam

וַיִּבֶן֩ he built bānâ עַל And against ʿal קִ֨יר the wall qîr הַבַּ֤יִת of the house bayit יָצִ֙ועַ֙ chambers yāṣûaʿ סָבִ֔יב round about, sābîb אֶת ʾēt קִיר֤וֹת the walls qîr הַבַּ֙יִת֙ of the house bayit סָבִ֔יב round about, sābîb לַֽהֵיכָ֖ל of the temple hêkāl וְלַדְּבִ֑יר and of the oracle: dĕbîr וַיַּ֥עַשׂ and he made ʿāśâ צְלָע֖וֹת chambers ṣēlāʿ סָבִֽיב׃ round about: sābîb

הַיָּצִ֨ועַ chamber yāṣûaʿ הַתַּחְתֹּנָ֜ה The nethermost taḥtôn חָמֵ֧שׁ five ḥāmēš בָּֽאַמָּ֣ה cubits ʾammâ רָחְבָּ֗הּ broad, rōḥab וְהַתִּֽיכֹנָה֙ and the middle tîkôn שֵׁ֤שׁ six šēš בָּֽאַמָּה֙ cubits ʾammâ רָחְבָּ֔הּ broad, rōḥab וְהַ֨שְּׁלִישִׁ֔ית and the third šĕlîšî שֶׁ֥בַע seven šebaʿ בָּֽאַמָּ֖ה cubits ʾammâ רָחְבָּ֑הּ broad: rōḥab כִּ֡י for kî מִגְרָעוֹת֩ narrowed rests migrāʿâ נָתַ֨ן he made nātan לַבַּ֤יִת of the house bayit סָבִיב֙ round about, sābîb ח֔וּצָה without ḥûṣ לְבִלְתִּ֖י that should not biltî אֲחֹ֥ז be fastened ʾāḥaz בְּקִֽירוֹת in the walls qîr הַבָּֽיִת׃ of the house. bayit

וְהַבַּ֙יִת֙ And the house, bayit בְּהִבָּ֣נֹת֔וֹ when it was in building, bānâ אֶֽבֶן of stone ʾeben שְׁלֵמָ֥ה made ready šālēm מַסָּ֖ע before it was brought massāʿ נִבְנָ֑ה was built bānâ וּמַקָּב֤וֹת hammer maqqābâ וְהַגַּרְזֶן֙ nor axe garzen כָּל any kōl כְּלִ֣י tool kĕlî בַרְזֶ֔ל of iron barzel לֹֽא thither: so that there was neither lōʾ נִשְׁמַ֥ע heard šāmaʿ בַּבַּ֖יִת in the house, bayit בְּהִבָּֽנֹתֽוֹ׃ while it was in building. bānâ

פֶּ֗תַח The door petaḥ הַצֵּלָע֙ chamber ṣēlāʿ הַתִּ֣יכֹנָ֔ה for the middle tîkôn אֶל in ʾēl כֶּ֥תֶף side kātēp הַבַּ֖יִת of the house: bayit הַיְמָנִ֑ית the right yĕmānî וּבְלוּלִּ֗ים with winding stairs lûl יַֽעֲלוּ֙ and they went up ʿālâ עַל into ʿal הַתִּ֣יכֹנָ֔ה the middle tîkôn וּמִן and out of min הַתִּֽיכֹנָ֖ה the middle tîkôn אֶל into ʾēl הַשְּׁלִשִֽׁים׃ the third. šĕlîšî

וַיִּ֥בֶן So he built bānâ אֶת ʾēt הַבַּ֖יִת the house, bayit וַיְכַלֵּ֑הוּ and finished kālâ וַיִּסְפֹּ֤ן it; and covered sāpan אֶת ʾēt הַבַּ֙יִת֙ the house bayit גֵּבִ֔ים with beams gēb וּשְׂדֵרֹ֖ת and boards śĕdērâ בָּֽאֲרָזִֽים׃ of cedar. ʾerez

וַיִּ֤בֶן And he built bānâ אֶת ʾēt הַיָּצִ֙ועַ֙ chambers yāṣûaʿ עַל against ʿal כָּל all kōl הַבַּ֔יִת the house, bayit חָמֵ֥שׁ five ḥāmēš אַמּ֖וֹת cubits ʾammâ קֽוֹמָת֑וֹ high: qômâ וַיֶּֽאֱחֹ֥ז and they rested on ʾāḥaz אֶת ʾēt הַבַּ֖יִת the house bayit בַּֽעֲצֵ֥י with timber ʿēṣ אֲרָזִֽים׃ of cedar. ʾerez

וַֽיְהִי֙ came hāyâ דְּבַר And the word dābār יְהוָ֔ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ אֶל to ʾēl שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה Solomon, šĕlōmō לֵאמֹֽר׃ saying, ʾāmar

הַבַּ֨יִת house bayit הַזֶּ֜ה this ze אֲשֶׁר which ʾăšer אַתָּ֣ה thou ʾattâ בֹנֶ֗ה art in building, bānâ אִם if ʾim תֵּלֵ֤ךְ thou wilt walk hālak בְּחֻקֹּתַי֙ in my statutes, ḥuqqâ וְאֶת ʾēt מִשְׁפָּטַ֣י my judgments, mišpāṭ תַּֽעֲשֶׂ֔ה and execute ʿāśâ וְשָֽׁמַרְתָּ֥ and keep šāmar אֶת ʾēt כָּל all kōl מִצְוֹתַ֖י my commandments miṣwâ לָלֶ֣כֶת to walk hālak בָּהֶ֑ם וַהֲקִֽמֹתִ֤י in them; then will I perform qûm אֶת ʾēt דְּבָרִי֙ my word dābār אִתָּ֔ךְ with thee, ʾēt אֲשֶׁ֥ר which ʾăšer דִּבַּ֖רְתִּי I spake dābar אֶל unto ʾēl דָּוִ֥ד David dāwid אָבִֽיךָ׃ thy father: ʾāb

וְשָׁ֣כַנְתִּ֔י And I will dwell šākan בְּת֖וֹךְ among tāwek בְּנֵ֣י the children bēn יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל of Israel, yiśrāʾēl וְלֹ֥א and will not lōʾ אֶֽעֱזֹ֖ב forsake ʿāzab אֶת ʾēt עַמִּ֥י my people ʿam יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel. yiśrāʾēl

וַיִּ֧בֶן built bānâ שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה So Solomon šĕlōmō אֶת ʾēt הַבַּ֖יִת the house, bayit וַיְכַלֵּֽהוּ׃ and finished it. kālâ

וַיִּבֶן֩ And he built bānâ אֶת ʾēt קִיר֨וֹת the walls qîr הַבַּ֤יִת of the house bayit מִבַּ֙יְתָה֙ within bayit בְּצַלְע֣וֹת with boards ṣēlāʿ אֲרָזִ֔ים of cedar, ʾerez מִקַּרְקַ֤ע both the floor qarqaʿ הַבַּ֙יִת֙ of the house, bayit עַד ʿad קִיר֣וֹת and the walls qîr הַסִּפֻּ֔ן of the cieling: sippun צִפָּ֥ה he covered ṣāpâ עֵ֖ץ with wood, ʿēṣ מִבָּ֑יִת on the inside bayit וַיְצַ֛ף and covered ṣāpâ אֶת ʾēt קַרְקַ֥ע the floor qarqaʿ הַבַּ֖יִת of the house bayit בְּצַלְע֥וֹת with planks ṣēlāʿ בְּרוֹשִֽׁים׃ of fir. bĕrôš

וַיִּבֶן֩ And he built bānâ אֶת ʾēt עֶשְׂרִ֨ים twenty ʿeśrîm אַמָּ֜ה cubits ʾammâ מִֽיַּרְכְּותֵ֤י on the sides yĕrēkâ הַבַּ֙יִת֙ of the house, bayit בְּצַלְע֣וֹת with boards ṣēlāʿ אֲרָזִ֔ים of cedar: ʾerez מִן both min הַקַּרְקַ֖ע the floor qarqaʿ עַד ʿad הַקִּיר֑וֹת and the walls qîr וַיִּ֤בֶן he even built bānâ לוֹ֙ מִבַּ֣יִת for it within, bayit לִדְבִ֔יר for the oracle, dĕbîr לְקֹ֖דֶשׁ for the most qōdeš הַקֳּדָשִֽׁים׃ holy qōdeš

וְאַרְבָּעִ֥ים forty ʾarbāʿîm בָּֽאַמָּ֖ה cubits ʾammâ הָיָ֣ה it, was hāyâ הַבָּ֑יִת And the house, bayit ה֖וּא that hûʾ הַֽהֵיכָ֥ל the temple hêkāl לִפְנָֽי׃ before lipnay

וְאֶ֤רֶז And the cedar ʾerez אֶל of ʾēl הַבַּ֙יִת֙ the house bayit פְּנִ֔ימָה within pĕnîmâ מִקְלַ֣עַת carved miqlaʿat פְּקָעִ֔ים with knops peqaʿ וּפְטוּרֵ֖י and open pāṭûr צִצִּ֑ים flowers: ṣîṣ הַכֹּ֣ל all kōl אֶ֔רֶז cedar; ʾerez אֵ֥ין there was no ʾayin אֶ֖בֶן stone ʾeben נִרְאָֽה׃ seen. rāʾâ

וּדְבִ֧יר And the oracle dĕbîr בְּתוֹךְ in tāwek הַבַּ֛יִת the house bayit מִפְּנִ֖ימָה within, pĕnîmâ הֵכִ֑ין he prepared kûn לְתִתֵּ֣ן to set nātan שָׁ֔ם there šām אֶת ʾēt אֲר֖וֹן the ark ʾārôn בְּרִ֥ית of the covenant bĕrît יְהוָֽה׃ of the Lord. yĕhōwâ

וְלִפְנֵ֣י in the forepart pānîm הַדְּבִ֡יר And the oracle dĕbîr עֶשְׂרִים֩ twenty ʿeśrîm אַמָּ֨ה cubits ʾammâ אֹ֜רֶךְ in length, ʾōrek וְעֶשְׂרִ֧ים and twenty ʿeśrîm אַמָּ֣ה cubits ʾammâ רֹ֗חַב in breadth, rōḥab וְעֶשְׂרִ֤ים and twenty ʿeśrîm אַמָּה֙ cubits ʾammâ קֽוֹמָת֔וֹ in the height qômâ וַיְצַפֵּ֖הוּ thereof: and he overlaid ṣāpâ זָהָ֣ב gold; zāhāb סָג֑וּר it with pure sāgar וַיְצַ֥ף and covered ṣāpâ מִזְבֵּ֖חַ the altar mizbēaḥ אָֽרֶז׃ cedar. ʾerez

וַיְצַ֨ף overlaid ṣāpâ שְׁלֹמֹ֧ה So Solomon šĕlōmō אֶת ʾēt הַבַּ֛יִת the house bayit מִפְּנִ֖ימָה within pĕnîmâ זָהָ֣ב gold: zāhāb סָג֑וּר with pure sāgar וַיְעַבֵּ֞ר and he made a partition ʿābar בְּרַתּיּק֤וֹת by the chains rattîqâ זָהָב֙ of gold zāhāb לִפְנֵ֣י before pānîm הַדְּבִ֔יר the oracle; dĕbîr וַיְצַפֵּ֖הוּ and he overlaid ṣāpâ זָהָֽב׃ it with gold. zāhāb

וְאֶת ʾēt כָּל And the whole kōl הַבַּ֛יִת house bayit צִפָּ֥ה he overlaid ṣāpâ זָהָ֖ב with gold, zāhāb עַד until ʿad תֹּ֣ם he had finished tāmam כָּל all kōl הַבָּ֑יִת the house: bayit וְכָל also the whole kōl הַמִּזְבֵּ֥חַ altar mizbēaḥ אֲֽשֶׁר that ʾăšer לַדְּבִ֖יר by the oracle dĕbîr צִפָּ֥ה he overlaid ṣāpâ זָהָֽב׃ with gold. zāhāb

וַיַּ֣עַשׂ he made ʿāśâ בַּדְּבִ֔יר And within the oracle dĕbîr שְׁנֵ֥י two šĕnayim כְרוּבִ֖ים cherubims kĕrûb עֲצֵי tree, ʿēṣ שָׁ֑מֶן olive šemen עֶ֥שֶׂר ten ʿeśer אַמּ֖וֹת cubits ʾammâ קֽוֹמָתֽוֹ׃ high. qômâ

וְחָמֵ֣שׁ And five ḥāmēš אַמּ֗וֹת cubits ʾammâ כְּנַ֤ף wing kānāp הַכְּרוּב֙ of the cherub, kĕrûb הָֽאֶחָ֔ת the one ʾeḥād וְחָמֵ֣שׁ and five ḥāmēš אַמּ֔וֹת cubits ʾammâ כְּנַ֥ף wing kānāp הַכְּר֖וּב of the cherub: kĕrûb הַשֵּׁנִ֑ית the other šēnî עֶ֣שֶׂר ten ʿeśer אַמּ֔וֹת cubits. ʾammâ מִקְצ֥וֹת from the uttermost part qāṣâ כְּנָפָ֖יו of the one wing kānāp וְעַד unto ʿad קְצ֥וֹת the uttermost part qāṣâ כְּנָפָֽיו׃ of the other kānāp

וְעֶ֙שֶׂר֙ ten ʿeśer בָּֽאַמָּ֔ה cubits: ʾammâ הַכְּר֖וּב cherub kĕrûb הַשֵּׁנִ֑י And the other šēnî מִדָּ֥ה measure middâ אַחַ֛ת of one ʾeḥād וְקֶ֥צֶב size. qeṣeb אֶחָ֖ד and one ʾeḥād לִשְׁנֵ֥י both šĕnayim הַכְּרֻבִֽים׃ the cherubims kĕrûb

קוֹמַת֙ The height qômâ הַכְּר֣וּב cherub kĕrûb הָֽאֶחָ֔ד of the one ʾeḥād עֶ֖שֶׂר ten ʿeśer בָּֽאַמָּ֑ה cubits, ʾammâ וְכֵ֖ן and so kēn הַכְּר֥וּב cherub. kĕrûb הַשֵּׁנִֽי׃ of the other šēnî

וַיִּתֵּ֨ן And he set nātan אֶת ʾēt הַכְּרוּבִ֜ים the cherubims kĕrûb בְּת֣וֹךְ׀ within tāwek הַבַּ֣יִת house: bayit הַפְּנִימִ֗י the inner pĕnîmî וַֽיִּפְרְשׂוּ֮ and they stretched forth pāraś אֶת ʾēt כַּנְפֵ֣י the wings kānāp הַכְּרֻבִים֒ of the cherubims, kĕrûb וַתִּגַּ֤ע touched nāgaʿ כְּנַף so that the wing kānāp הָֽאֶחָד֙ of the one ʾeḥād בַּקִּ֔יר the wall, qîr וּכְנַף֙ and the wing kānāp הַכְּר֣וּב cherub kĕrûb הַשֵּׁנִ֔י of the other šēnî נֹגַ֖עַת touched nāgaʿ בַּקִּ֣יר wall; qîr הַשֵּׁנִ֑י the other šēnî וְכַנְפֵיהֶם֙ and their wings kānāp אֶל ʾēl תּ֣וֹךְ the midst tāwek הַבַּ֔יִת of the house. bayit נֹֽגְעֹ֖ת touched nāgaʿ כָּנָ֥ף one kānāp אֶל in ʾēl כָּנָֽף׃ another kānāp

וַיְצַ֥ף And he overlaid ṣāpâ אֶת ʾēt הַכְּרוּבִ֖ים the cherubims kĕrûb זָהָֽב׃ with gold. zāhāb

וְאֵת֩ ʾēt כָּל all kōl קִיר֨וֹת the walls qîr הַבַּ֜יִת of the house bayit מֵסַ֣ב׀ round about mēsab קָלַ֗ע And he carved qālaʿ פִּתּוּחֵי֙ with carved pittûaḥ מִקְלְעוֹת֙ figures miqlaʿat כְּרוּבִ֣ים of cherubims kĕrûb וְתִֽמֹרֹ֔ת and palm trees timmōr וּפְטוּרֵ֖י and open pāṭûr צִצִּ֑ים flowers, ṣîṣ מִלִּפְנִ֖ים within pĕnîmâ וְלַֽחִיצֽוֹן׃ and without. ḥîṣôn

וְאֶת ʾēt קַרְקַ֥ע And the floor qarqaʿ הַבַּ֖יִת of the house bayit צִפָּ֣ה he overlaid ṣāpâ זָהָ֑ב with gold, zāhāb לִפְנִ֖ימָה within pĕnîmâ וְלַֽחִיצֽוֹן׃ and without. ḥîṣôn

וְאֵת֙ ʾēt פֶּ֣תַח And for the entering petaḥ הַדְּבִ֔יר of the oracle dĕbîr עָשָׂ֖ה he made ʿāśâ דַּלְת֣וֹת doors delet עֲצֵי tree: ʿēṣ שָׁ֑מֶן olive šemen הָאַ֥יִל the lintel ʾayil מְזוּז֖וֹת side posts mĕzûzâ חֲמִשִֽׁית׃ a fifth part ḥămîšî

וּשְׁתֵּי֮ The two šĕnayim דַּלְת֣וֹת doors delet עֲצֵי tree; ʿēṣ שֶׁמֶן֒ also olive šemen וְקָלַ֣ע and he carved qālaʿ עֲ֠לֵיהֶם upon ʿal מִקְלְע֨וֹת them carvings miqlaʿat כְּרוּבִ֧ים of cherubims kĕrûb וְתִמֹר֛וֹת and palm trees timmōr וּפְטוּרֵ֥י and open pāṭûr צִצִּ֖ים flowers, ṣîṣ וְצִפָּ֣ה and overlaid ṣāpâ זָהָ֑ב with gold, zāhāb וַיָּ֛רֶד and spread rādad עַל upon ʿal הַכְּרוּבִ֥ים the cherubims, kĕrûb וְעַל and upon ʿal הַתִּֽמֹר֖וֹת the palm trees. timmōr אֶת ʾēt הַזָּהָֽב׃ gold zāhāb

וְכֵ֥ן So kēn עָשָׂ֛ה also made ʿāśâ לְפֶ֥תַח he for the door petaḥ הַֽהֵיכָ֖ל of the temple hêkāl מְזוּז֣וֹת posts mĕzûzâ עֲצֵי tree, ʿēṣ שָׁ֑מֶן olive šemen מֵאֵ֖ת ʾēt רְבִעִֽית׃ a fourth part rĕbîʿî

וּשְׁתֵּ֥י And the two šĕnayim דַלְת֖וֹת doors delet עֲצֵ֣י tree: ʿēṣ בְרוֹשִׁ֑ים fir bĕrôš שְׁנֵ֨י the two šĕnayim צְלָעִ֜ים leaves ṣēlāʿ הַדֶּ֤לֶת door delet הָֽאַחַת֙ of the one ʾeḥād גְּלִילִ֔ים folding, gālîl וּשְׁנֵ֧י and the two šĕnayim קְלָעִ֛ים leaves qelaʿ הַדֶּ֥לֶת door delet הַשֵּׁנִ֖ית of the other šēnî גְּלִילִֽים׃ folding. gālîl

וְקָלַ֤ע And he carved qālaʿ כְּרוּבִים֙ cherubims kĕrûb וְתִ֣מֹר֔וֹת and palm trees timmōr וּפְטֻרֵ֖י and open pāṭûr צִצִּ֑ים flowers: ṣîṣ וְצִפָּ֣ה and covered ṣāpâ זָהָ֔ב with gold zāhāb מְיֻשָּׁ֖ר fitted yāšar עַל upon ʿal הַמְּחֻקֶּֽה׃ the carved work. ḥāqâ

וַיִּ֙בֶן֙ And he built bānâ אֶת ʾēt הֶֽחָצֵ֣ר court ḥāṣēr הַפְּנִימִ֔ית the inner pĕnîmî שְׁלֹשָׁ֖ה with three šālôš טוּרֵ֣י rows ṭûr גָזִ֑ית of hewed stone, gāzît וְט֖וּר and a row ṭûr כְּרֻתֹ֥ת beams. kārutâ אֲרָזִֽים׃ of cedar ʾerez

בַּשָּׁנָה֙ year šāne הָֽרְבִיעִ֔ית In the fourth rĕbîʿî יֻסַּ֖ד was the foundation laid, yāsad בֵּ֣ית of the house bayit יְהוָ֑ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ בְּיֶ֖רַח in the month yeraḥ זִֽו׃ Zif: ziw

וּבַשָּׁנָה֩ year, šāne הָֽאַחַ֨ת And in the eleventh ʾeḥād עֶשְׂרֵ֜ה ʿāśār בְּיֶ֣רַח in the month yeraḥ בּ֗וּל Bul, bûl ה֚וּא which hûʾ הַחֹ֣דֶשׁ month, ḥōdeš הַשְּׁמִינִ֔י the eighth šĕmînî כָּלָ֣ה finished kālâ הַבַּ֔יִת was the house bayit לְכָל throughout all kōl דְּבָרָ֖יו the parts dābār וּלְכָל thereof, and according to all kōl מִשְׁפָּטָ֑ו the fashion mišpāṭ וַיִּבְנֵ֖הוּ in building it. bānâ שֶׁ֥בַע of it. So was he seven šebaʿ שָׁנִֽים׃ years šāne
