1 ఆదివారమున తెల్లవారుచుండగా (ఆ స్త్రీలు) తాము సిద్ధపరచిన సుగంధ ద్రవ్యములను తీసికొని సమాధి యొద్దకు వచ్చి

2 సమాధిముందర ఉండిన రాయి దొరలింప బడియుండుట చూచి లోపలికి వెళ్లిరి గాని

3 ప్రభువైన యేసు దేహము వారికి కనబడలేదు.

4 ఇందునుగూర్చి వారికేమియు తోచకయుండగా, ప్రకాశమానమైన వస్త్రములు ధరించిన యిద్దరు మనుష్యులు వారియొద్ద నిలువబడిరి.

5 వారు భయపడి ముఖములను నేల మోపి యుండగా వీరుసజీవుడైన వానిని మీ రెందుకు మృతులలో వెదకుచున్నారు?

6 ఆయన ఇక్కడలేడు, ఆయన లేచియున్నాడు; ఆయన ఇంక గలిలయలో ఉండి నప్పుడు

7 మనుష్యకుమారుడు పాపిష్ఠులైన మనుష్యుల చేతికి అప్పగింపబడి, సిలువవేయబడి, మూడవ దినమందు లేవవలసియున్నదని ఆయన మీతో చెప్పిన మాట జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొనుడని వారితో

8 అప్పుడు వారాయన మాటలు జ్ఞాపకము చేసికొని

9 సమాధి యొద్దనుండి తిరిగి వెళ్లి యీ సంగతులన్నియు పదునొకండుగురు శిష్యులకును తక్కినవారికందరికిని తెలియజేసిరి.

10 ఈ సంగతులు అపొస్తలులతో చెప్పిన వారెవరనగామగ్దలేనే మరియయు యోహన్నయు యాకోబు తల్లియైన మరియయు వారితో కూడ ఉన్న యితర స్త్రీలును.

11 అయితే వారి మాటలు వీరి దృష్టికి వెఱ్ఱిమాటలుగా కనబడెను గనుక వీరు వారి మాటలు నమ్మలేదు.

12 అయితే పేతురు లేచి, సమాధి యొద్దకు పరుగెత్తికొనిపోయి వంగిచూడగా, నారబట్టలు మాత్రము విడిగా కనబడెను. అతడు జరిగినదానిని గూర్చి ఆశ్చర్యపడుచు ఇంటికి వెళ్లెను.

13 ఇదిగో ఆ దినమందే వారిలో ఇద్దరు యెరూషలేము నకు ఆమడదూరమున ఉన్న ఎమ్మాయు అను ఒక గ్రామ మునకు వెళ్లుచు

14 జరిగిన ఈ సంగతులన్ని టినిగూర్చి యొక రితో నొకరు సంభాషించుచుండిరి.

15 వారు సంభాషించుచు ఆలోచించుకొనుచుండగా, యేసు తానే దగ్గరకువచ్చి వారితోకూడ నడిచెను;

16 అయితే వారాయనను గుర్తు పట్టలేకుండ వారి కన్నులు మూయబడెను.

17 ఆయన మీరు నడుచుచు ఒకరితో ఒకరు చెప్పుకొనుచున్న యీ మాట లేమని అడుగగా వారు దుఃఖముఖులై నిలిచిరి.

18 వారిలో క్లెయొపా అనువాడుయెరూషలేములో బస చేయుచుండి, యీ దినములలో అక్కడ జరిగిన సంగతులు నీవొకడవే యెరుగవా? అని ఆయనను అడిగెను.

19 ఆయన అవి ఏవని వారిని అడిగినప్పుడు వారునజరేయుడైన యేసును గూర్చిన సంగతులే; ఆయన దేవునియెదుటను ప్రజలందరియెదుటను క్రియలోను వాక్యములోను శక్తి గల ప్రవక్తయై యుండెను.

20 మన ప్రధాన యాజకులును అధికారులును ఆయనను ఏలాగు మరణశిక్షకు అప్పగించి, సిలువవేయించిరో నీకు తెలియదా?

21 ఇశ్రాయేలును విమోచింపబోవువాడు ఈయనే అని మేము నిరీక్షించి యుంటిమి; ఇదిగాక యీ సంగతులు జరిగి నేటికి మూడు దినములాయెను.

22 అయితే మాలో కొందరు స్త్రీలు తెల్ల వారగానే సమాధియొద్దకు వెళ్లి, ఆయన దేహమును కానక వచ్చి

23 కొందరు దేవదూతలు తమకు కనబడి ఆయన బ్రదికియున్నాడని చెప్పిరని మాతో చెప్పి మాకు విస్మయము కలుగజేసిరి.

24 మాతోకూడ ఉన్నవారిలో కొందరు సమాధియొద్దకు వెళ్లి ఆ స్త్రీలు చెప్పినట్టు కనుగొనిరి గాని, ఆయనను చూడలేదని ఆయనతో చెప్పిరి.

25 అందు కాయన అవివేకులారా, ప్రవక్తలు చెప్పిన మాటలనన్నిటిని నమ్మని మందమతులారా,

26 క్రీస్తు ఈలాగు శ్రమపడి తన మహిమలో ప్రవేశించుట అగత్యము కాదా అని వారితో చెప్పి

27 మోషేయు సమస్త ప్రవక్తలును మొదలు కొని లేఖనములన్నిటిలో తన్ను గూర్చిన వచనముల భావము వారికి తెలిపెను.

28 ఇంతలో తాము వెళ్లుచున్న గ్రామము దగ్గరకు వచ్చినప్పుడు ఆయన యింక కొంతదూరము వెళ్లునట్లు అగపడగా

29 వారు సాయంకాలము కావచ్చినది, ప్రొద్దు గ్రుంకినది, మాతోకూడ ఉండుమని చెప్పి, ఆయనను బలవంతముచేసిరి గనుక ఆయన వారితో కూడ ఉండుటకు లోపలికి వెళ్లెను.

30 ఆయన వారితో కూడ భోజనమునకు కూర్చున్నప్పుడు, ఒక రొట్టెను పట్టుకొని స్తోత్రము చేసి దాని విరిచి వారికి పంచి పెట్టగా

31 వారి కన్నులు తెరవబడి ఆయనను గుర్తుపట్టిరి; అంతట ఆయన వారికి అదృశ్యుడాయెను.

32 అప్పుడు వారు ఆయన త్రోవలో మనతో మాటలాడుచు లేఖనములను మనకు బోధపరచు చున్నప్పుడు మన హృదయము మనలో మండుచుండలేదా అని యొకనితో ఒకడు చెప్పుకొనిరి.

33 ఆ గడియలోనే వారు లేచి, యెరూషలేమునకు తిరిగి వెళ్లగా, పదు నొకొండుగురు శిష్యులును వారితో కూడ ఉన్నవారును కూడివచ్చి

34 ప్రభువు నిజముగా లేచి సీమోనునకు కన బడెనని చెప్పుకొనుచుండిరి. వారిది విని

35 త్రోవలో జరిగిన సంగతులును, ఆయన రొట్టె విరుచుటవలన తమ కేలాగు తెలియబడెనో అదియు తెలియజేసిరి.

36 వారు ఈలాగు మాటలాడుచుండగా ఆయన వారి మధ్యను నిలిచి--మీకు సమాధానమవుగాకని వారితో అనెను.

37 అయితే వారు దిగులుపడి భయాక్రాంతులై, భూతము తమకు కనబడెనని తలంచిరి.

38 అప్పుడాయనమీరెందుకు కలవరపడుచున్నారు? మీ హృద యములలో సందేహములు పుట్టనేల?

39 నేనే ఆయనను అనుటకు నా చేతులను నా పాదములను చూడుడి; నన్ను పట్టి చూడుడి, నా కున్నట్టుగా మీరు చూచుచున్న యెముకలును మాంస మును భూతమున కుండవని చెప్పి

40 తన చేతులను పాదము లను వారికి చూపెను.

41 అయితే వారు సంతోషముచేత ఇంకను నమ్మక ఆశ్చర్యపడుచుండగా ఆయనఇక్కడ మీయొద్ద ఏమైన ఆహారము కలదా అని వారినడిగెను.

42 వారు కాల్చిన చేప ముక్కను ఆయన కిచ్చిరి.

43 ఆయన దానిని తీసికొని వారియెదుట భుజించెను.

44 అంతట ఆయనమోషే ధర్మశాస్త్రములోను ప్రవక్తల గ్రంథములలోను, కీర్తనలలోను నన్నుగూర్చి వ్రాయబడిన వన్నియు నెరవేరవలెనని నేను మీయొద్ద ఉండినప్పుడు మీతో చెప్పిన మా

45 అప్పుడు వారు లేఖనములు గ్రహించునట్లుగా ఆయన వారి మనస్సును తెరచి

46 క్రీస్తు శ్రమపడి మూడవ దిన మున మృతులలోనుండి లేచుననియు

47 యెరూషలేము మొదలుకొని సమస్త జనములలో ఆయనపేరట మారు మనస్సును పాపక్షమాపణయు ప్రకటింపబడుననియు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

48 ఈ సంగతులకు మీరే సాక్షులు

49 ఇదిగో నా తండ్రి వాగ్దానము చేసినది మీమీదికి పంపు చున్నాను; మీరు పైనుండి శక్తి పొందువరకు పట్టణములో నిలిచి యుండుడని వారితో చెప్పెను.

50 ఆయన బేతనియవరకు వారిని తీసికొనిపోయి చేతు లెత్తి వారిని ఆశీర్వదించెను.

51 వారిని ఆశీర్వదించుచుండగా ఆయన వారిలోనుండి ప్రత్యేకింపబడి పరలోకమునకు ఆరోహణుడాయెను.

52 వారు ఆయనకు నమస్కారము చేసి మహా ఆనందముతో యెరూషలేమునకు తిరిగి వెళ్లి

53 యెడతెగక దేవాలయములో ఉండి దేవుని స్తోత్రము చేయుచుండిరి.

1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

8 And they remembered his words,

9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.

10 It was Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and other women that were with them, which told these things unto the apostles.

11 And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not.

12 Then arose Peter, and ran unto the sepulchre; and stooping down, he beheld the linen clothes laid by themselves, and departed, wondering in himself at that which was come to pass.

13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.

14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.

15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.

17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?

18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?

19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

20 And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.

21 But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.

22 Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;

23 And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.

24 And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.

25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.

28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.

29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.

30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.

31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.

32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

33 And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,

34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.

35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.

37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit.

38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.

41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?

42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.

43 And he took it, and did eat before them.

44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

48 And ye are witnesses of these things.

49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

50 And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.

51 And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

52 And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:

53 And were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.
