యోవేలు 1
1 పెతూయేలు కూమారుడైన యోవేలునకు ప్రత్యక్షమైన యోహోవా వాక్కు
2 పెద్దలారా, ఆలకించుడి దేశపు కాపురస్థులారా, మీరందరు చెవియొగ్గి వినుడి ఈలాటి సంగతి మీ దినములలో గాని మీ పితరుల దినములలోగాని జరిగినదా?
3 ఈ సంగతి మీ బిడ్డలకు తెలియజేయుడి. వారు తమ బిడ్డలకును ఆ బిడ్డలు రాబోవు తరము వారికిని తెలియజేయుదురు.
4 గొంగళిపురుగులు విడిచినదానిని మిడుతలు తినివేసి యున్నవి మిడుతలు విడిచినదానిని పసరుపురుగులు తినివేసి యున్నవి.పసరుపురుగులు విడిచినదానిని చీడపురుగులు తినివేసి యున్నవి.
5 మత్తులారా, మేలుకొని కన్నీరు విడువుడి ద్రాక్షారసపానము చేయువారలారా, రోదనము చేయుడి.క్రొత్త ద్రాక్షారసము మీ నోటికి రాకుండ నాశ మాయెను,
6 లెక్కలేని బలమైన జనాంగము నా దేశము మీదికి వచ్చియున్నది వాటి పళ్లు సింహపు కోరలవంటివి వాటి కాటు ఆడుసింహపు కాటువంటిది.
7 అవి నా ద్రాక్షచెట్లను పాడుచేసియున్నవి నా అంజూరపు చెట్లను తుత్తునియలుగా కొరికి యున్నవి బెరడు ఒలిచి వాటిని పారవేయగా చెట్లకొమ్మలు తెలుపాయెను
8 పెనిమిటి పోయిన ¸°వనురాలు గోనెపట్ట కట్టు కొని అంగలార్చునట్లు నీవు అంగలార్చుము.
9 నైవేద్యమును పానార్పణమును యెహోవా మందిరములోనికి రాకుండ నిలిచి పోయెను. యెహోవాకు పరిచర్యచేయు యాజకులు అంగలార్చు చున్నారు.
10 పొలము పాడైపోయెను భూమి అంగలార్చుచున్నది ధాన్యము నశించెను క్రొత్త ద్రాక్షారసము లేకపోయెను తైలవృక్షములు వాడిపోయెను.
11 భూమిమీది పైరు చెడిపోయెను గోధుమ కఱ్ఱలను యవల కఱ్ఱలను చూచి సేద్యగాండ్లారా, సిగ్గునొందుడి.ద్రాక్షతోట కాపరులారా, రోదనము చేయుడి.
12 ద్రాక్షచెట్లు చెడిపోయెను అంజూరపుచెట్లు వాడి పోయెను దానిమ్మచెట్లును ఈతచెట్లును జల్దరుచెట్లును తోట చెట్లన్నియు వాడిపోయినవి నరులకు సంతోషమేమియు లేకపోయెను.
13 యాజకులారా, గోనెపట్ట కట్టుకొని అంగలార్చుడి. బలిపీఠమునొద్ద పరిచర్య చేయువారలారా, రోదనము చేయుడి. నా దేవుని పరిచారకులారా, గోనెపట్ట వేసికొని రాత్రి అంతయు గడపుడి. నైవేద్యమును పానార్పణమును మీ దేవుని మందిర మునకు రాకుండ నిలిచిపోయెను.
14 ఉపవాసదినము ప్రతిష్ఠించుడి వ్రతదినము ఏర్పరచుడి. యెహోవాను బతిమాలుకొనుటకై పెద్దలను దేశములోని జనులందరిని మీదేవుడైన యెహోవా మందిరములో సమకూర్చుడి.
15 ఆహా, యెహోవా దినము వచ్చెనే అది ఎంత భయంకరమైన దినము! అది ప్రళయమువలెనే సర్వశక్తునియొద్దనుండి వచ్చును.
16 మనము చూచుచుండగా మన దేవుని మందిరములో ఇక సంతోషమును ఉత్సవమును నిలిచిపోయెను మన ఆహారము నాశనమాయెను.
17 విత్తనము మంటిపెడ్డల క్రింద కుళ్లిపోవుచున్నది పైరు మాడిపోయినందున ధాన్యపుకొట్లు వట్టి వాయెను కళ్లపుకొట్లు నేలపడియున్నవి.
18 మేతలేక పశువులు బహుగా మూల్గుచున్నవి ఎడ్లు మందలుగా కూడి ఆకలికి అల్లాడుచున్నవి గొఱ్ఱమందలు చెడిపోవుచున్నవి.
19 అగ్ని చేత అరణ్యములోని మేతస్థలములు కాలిపోయినవి మంట తోటచెట్లన్నిటిని కాల్చివేసెను యెహోవా, నీకే నేను మొఱ్ఱ పెట్టుచున్నాను.
20 నదులు ఎండిపోవుటయు అగ్నిచేత మేతస్థలములు కాలిపోవుటయు చూచి పశువులును నీకు మొఱ్ఱ పెట్టుచున్నవి.
1 The word of the Lord that came to Joel the son of Pethuel.
2 Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers?
3 Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.
4 That which the palmerworm hath left hath the locust eaten; and that which the locust hath left hath the cankerworm eaten; and that which the cankerworm hath left hath the caterpiller eaten.
5 Awake, ye drunkards, and weep; and howl, all ye drinkers of wine, because of the new wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.
6 For a nation is come up upon my land, strong, and without number, whose teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he hath the cheek teeth of a great lion.
7 He hath laid my vine waste, and barked my fig tree: he hath made it clean bare, and cast it away; the branches thereof are made white.
8 Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth.
9 The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the Lord; the priests, the Lord’s ministers, mourn.
10 The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth.
11 Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished.
12 The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
13 Gird yourselves, and lament, ye priests: howl, ye ministers of the altar: come, lie all night in sackcloth, ye ministers of my God: for the meat offering and the drink offering is withholden from the house of your God.
14 Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry unto the Lord,
15 Alas for the day! for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
16 Is not the meat cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
17 The seed is rotten under their clods, the garners are laid desolate, the barns are broken down; for the corn is withered.
18 How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
19 O Lord, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field.
20 The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
Job 9 in Tamil and English
1 তখন ইয়োব উত্তর দিলেন:
Then Job answered and said,
2 “হ্যাঁ, আমি জানি তুমি যা বলছো তা সত্য| কিন্তু এক জন মানুষ ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে যুক্তি-তর্কে কি ভাবে জিততে পারে?
I know it is so of a truth: but how should man be just with God?
3 এক জন মানুষ ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে তর্ক করতে পারে না! ঈশ্বর 1,000টা প্রশ্ন করতে পারেন কিন্তু কোন মানুষ তার একটা প্রশ্নরও উত্তর দিতে পারে না!
If he will contend with him, he cannot answer him one of a thousand.
4 ঈশ্বর প্রচণ্ড জ্ঞানী এবং তাঁর বিপুল ক্ষমতা| কেউই ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে অক্ষত হয়ে লড়াই করতে পারে না|
He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened himself against him, and hath prospered?
5 ঈশ্বর যখন রোধন্বত হন তখন পর্বতগুলো কি হচ্ছে বোঝবার আগেই তিনি পর্বতদের সরিয়ে দেন|
Which removeth the mountains, and they know not: which overturneth them in his anger.
6 পৃথিবীকে কাঁপিয়ে দেবার জন্য ঈশ্বর ভূমিকম্প পাঠান| ঈশ্বর পৃথিবীর ভিত পর্য়ন্ত কাঁপিয়ে দেন|
Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.
7 ঈশ্বর সূর্য়ের সঙ্গে কথা বলতে পারেন এবং সূর্য়োদয নাও হতে দিতে পারেন| তিনি তারাদের বন্দী করে ফেলতে পারেন যাতে তারারা আর না জ্বলে|
Which commandeth the sun, and it riseth not; and sealeth up the stars.
8 ঈশ্বর নিজেই আকাশ সৃষ্টি করেছেন| তিনি সমুদ্রের ঢেউযের ওপর দিয়ে হেঁটে যান|
Which alone spreadeth out the heavens, and treadeth upon the waves of the sea.
9 “ঈশ্বরই বৃহত্ ভাল্লুকমণ্ডলী, সপ্তর্ষিমণ্ডল, কালপুরুষ এবং কৃত্তিকা সৃষ্টি করেছেন| তিনিই গ্রহরাজি সৃষ্টি করেছেন যা দক্ষিণের আকাশ পরিক্রমা করে|
Which maketh Arcturus, Orion, and Pleiades, and the chambers of the south.
10 ঈশ্বর মহান সব কাজ করেন যা মানুষ বুঝে উঠতে পারে না| ঈশ্বর য়ে সব আশ্চর্য় কাজ করেন তা অগণ্য|
Which doeth great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.
11 দেখ, ঈশ্বর আমার পাশ দিয়ে চলে যান কিন্তু আমি তাঁকে দেখতে পাই না| তিনি পাশ দিয়ে চলে যান কিন্তু আমি তা উপলদ্ধি করতে পারি না|
Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not.
12 যদি ঈশ্বর কিছু নিয়ে যান কেউই তাঁকে রোধ করতে পারে না| কেউই তাঁকে বলতে পারে না, ‘আপনি কি করছেন?’
Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?
13 ঈশ্বর তাঁর রাগ দমন করবেন না| এমন কি রাহাবেরঅনুচররাও ঈশ্বরের সামনে নত হয়!
If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.
14 তাই আমি ঈশ্বরের সঙ্গে তর্ক করতে পারি না| আমি জানি না তাঁকে কি বলতে হবে|
How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him?
15 আমি নির্দোষ, কিন্তু আমি তাঁকে কোন উত্তর দিতে পারি না| আমি শুধু আমার বিচারকের কাছে প্রার্থনা করতে পারি|
Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge.
16 আমি যদি ঈশ্বরকে ডাকি এবং তিনি যদি উত্তর দেন, তবু আমি বিশ্বাস করবো না য়ে উনি আমার কথা শুনবেন|
If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice.
17 অকারণে তিনি আমার দেহে প্রচুর ক্ষত দেবেন| আমাকে আঘাত করার জন্য ঈশ্বর ঝড় পাঠাবেন|
For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause.
18 ঈশ্বর পুনর্বার আমায় নিঃশ্বাস নিতে দেবেন না| তার বদলে তিনি আমায় ভয়ঙ্কর কষ্টে ভরিয়ে দেবেন|
He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness.
19 এটা যদি শক্তির ব্যাপার হয়, নিশ্চয়ই তিনি অনেক বেশী শক্তিশালী| এটা যদি সুবিচারের ব্যাপার হয়, ঈশ্বরকে কে আদালতে আসার জন্য বাধ্য করতে পারে?
If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?
20 আমি নিরপরাধ, কিন্তু আমার নিজের কথাই আমাকে অপরাধী করে তোলে| আমি নির্দোষ, কিন্তু তিনি আমায় তাঁর বিচারে অপরাধী করবেন| তাঁর বিচারে আমি অপরাধী হব|
If I justify myself, mine own mouth shall condemn me: if I say, I am perfect, it shall also prove me perverse.
21 আমি নির্দোষ| কিন্তু আমি জানি না কি ভাবতে হবে| আমি আমার নিজের জীবনকে ঘৃণা করি|
Though I were perfect, yet would I not know my soul: I would despise my life.
22 আমি নিজেকে বলি, ‘একই ঘটনা সবার ক্ষেত্রেই ঘটে| নির্দোষ লোক অপরাধীর মতোই মারা যায়| ঈশ্বর তাদের সবার জীবন শেষ করে দেন|’
This is one thing, therefore I said it, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.
23 যখন ভয়ঙ্কর কিছু একটা ঘটে এবং একজন নির্দোষ লোক মারা যায়, ঈশ্বর কি তার প্রতি বিদ্রূপের হাসি হাসেন?
If the scourge slay suddenly, he will laugh at the trial of the innocent.
24 যখন একজন দুষ্ট লোক রাজ্য শাসন করে, তখন কি ঘটছে, তা দেখা থেকে ঈশ্বর কি নেতাদের বিরত রাখেন? যদি তাই সত্য হয়, তাহলে ঈশ্বর কে?
The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?
25 “আমার দিন এক জন দৌড়বাজের থেকেও দ্রুত চলে যাচ্ছে| আমার দিনগুলি উড়ে চলে যাচ্ছে এবং তাদের মধ্যে কোন আনন্দ নেই|
Now my days are swifter than a post: they flee away, they see no good.
26 আমার দিনগুলি নৌকার মত দ্রুত চলে যাচ্ছে ঠিক য়েমন ঈগল দ্রুত গতিতে শিকারের ওপর ছোঁ মারে|
They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hasteth to the prey.
27 “যদি আমি বলি, ‘আমি অভিয়োগ করবো না আমি আমার যন্ত্রণা ভুলে যাবো| আমি আমার মুখে হাসি ফোটাতে পারবো|’
If I say, I will forget my complaint, I will leave off my heaviness, and comfort myself:
28 প্রকৃতপক্ষে এটা কোন কিছুকেই পরিবর্তিত করবে না| যন্ত্রণা এখনও আমাকে ভীত করে!
I am afraid of all my sorrows, I know that thou wilt not hold me innocent.
29 আমি ইতিপূর্বেই অপরাধী সাব্যস্ত হয়েছি| তাই কেন আমি অকারণে চেষ্টা করবো? আমি বলি, ‘ভুলে যাও!’
If I be wicked, why then labour I in vain?
30 যদি আমি নিজেকে তুষার দিয়ে ধুয়ে ফেলি এবং সাবান দিয়ে আমার হাত পরিষ্কার করি,
If I wash myself with snow water, and make my hands never so clean;
31 তবুও ঈশ্বর আমাকে কবরে শাস্তি দেবেন এবং তোমরা আমাকে আবর্জনার মধ্যে ফেলে দেবে| তখন আমার বস্ত্রও আমায় ঘৃণা করবে|
Yet shalt thou plunge me in the ditch, and mine own clothes shall abhor me.
32 ঈশ্বর তো আমার মতো এক জন মানুষ নন| সেই জন্য আমি তাঁকে উত্তর দিতে পারি না| আমরা আদালতে মিলিত হতে পারি না|
For he is not a man, as I am, that I should answer him, and we should come together in judgment.
33 আমি মনে করি দুপক্ষের কথা শোনার জন্য এক জন মধ্যপক্ষ মানুষের দরকার| আমি মনে করি, আমাদের উভয়েরই বিচার করার জন্য যদি কেউ এক জন থাকতো!
Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.
34 আমি মনে করি, ঈশ্বরের শাস্তিদানের দণ্ড কেড়ে নেওয়ার জন্য যদি কেউ থাকতো! তাহলে ঈশ্বর আমায় আর ভয় দেখাতে পারতেন না|
Let him take his rod away from me, and let not his fear terrify me:
35 তাহলে, ঈশ্বরকে ভয় না করে, আমি যা বলতে চাই, তা বলতে পারতাম| কিন্তু এখন আমি তা করতে পারি না|
Then would I speak, and not fear him; but it is not so with me.
