యిర్మీయా 6

1 బెన్యామీనీయులారా, యెరూషలేములోనుండి పారి పోవుడి, తెకోవలో బూరధ్వని చేయుడి, బేత్‌ హక్కెరెము మీద ఆనవాలుకై ధ్వజము నిలువబెట్టుడి, కీడు ఉత్తర దిక్కునుండి వచ్చుచున్నది, గొప్ప దండు వచ్చుచున్నది.

2 సుందరియు సుకుమారియునైన సీయోను కుమార్తెను పెల్ల గించుచున్నాను.

3 గొఱ్ఱల కాపరులు తమ మందలతో ఆమెయొద్దకు వచ్చెదరు, ఆమె చుట్టు తమ గుడారములను వేయుదురు, ప్రతివాడును తన కిష్టమైనచోట మందను మేపును.

4 ఆమెతో యుద్ధమునకు సిద్ధపరచుకొనుడి; లెండి, మధ్యాహ్నమందు బయలుదేరుదము. అయ్యో, మనకు శ్రమ, ప్రొద్దు గ్రుంకుచున్నది, సాయంకాలపు ఛాయలు పొడుగవుచున్నవి.

5 లెండి ఆమె నగరులను నశింపజేయుటకు రాత్రి బయలుదేరుదము.

6 ​సైన్యముల కధిపతియగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు చెట్లను నరికి యెరూషలేమునకు ఎదురుగా ముట్టడిదిబ్బ కట్టుడి, ఈ పట్టణము కేవలము అన్యాయమును అనుసరించి నడచునది గనుక శిక్ష నొందవలసి వచ్చెను.

7 ​ఊట తన జలమును పైకి ఉబుక చేయునట్లు అది తన చెడుతనమును పైకి ఉబుకచేయు చున్నది, బలాత్కారమును దోపుడును దానిలో జరుగుట వినబడుచున్నది, గాయములును దెబ్బలును నిత్యము నాకు కనబడుచున్నవి.

8 ​యెరూషలేమా, నేను నీయొద్దనుండి తొలగింపబడకుండునట్లును నేను నిన్ను పాడైన నిర్మానుష్య ప్రదేశముగా చేయకుండునట్లును శిక్షకు లోబడుము.

9 సైన్యములకధిపతియగు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చు చున్నాడుద్రాక్షచెట్టు ఫలమును ఏరుకొనునట్లు మను ష్యులు ఏమియు మిగులకుండ ఇశ్రాయేలు శేషమును ఏరు దురు; ద్రాక్షపండ్లను ఏరువాడు చిన్న తీగెలను ఏరుటకై తన చెయ్యి మరల వేయునట్లు నీ చెయ్యివేయుము.

10 విందురని నేనెవరితో మాటలాడెదను? ఎవరికి సాక్ష్య మిచ్చెదను? వారు వినుటకు తమ మనస్సు సిద్ధపరచుకొనరు గనుక వినలేకపోయిరి. ఇదిగో వారు యెహోవా వాక్యమందు సంతోషము లేనివారై దాని తృణీకరింతురు.

11 కావున నేను యెహోవా క్రోధముతో నిండియున్నాను, దానిని అణచుకొని అణచుకొని నేను విసికియున్నాను, ఒకడు తప్పకుండ వీధిలోనున్న పసిపిల్లలమీదను ¸°వనుల గుంపుమీదను దాని కుమ్మరింపవలసి వచ్చెను, భార్యా భర్త లును వయస్సు మీరినవారును వృద్ధులును పట్టుకొనబడె దరు.

12 ఏమియు మిగులకుండ వారి యిండ్లును వారి పొల ములును వారి భార్యలును ఇతరులకు అప్పగింపబడుదురు, ఈ దేశనివాసులమీద నేను నా చెయ్యి చాపుచున్నాను; ఇదే యెహోవా వాక్కు

13 అల్పులేమి ఘనులేమి వారందరు మోసము చేసి దోచుకొనువారు, ప్రవక్తలేమి యాజకులేమి అందరు వంచకులు.

14 ​సమాధానములేని సమయమునసమాధానము సమాధానమని చెప్పుచు, నా ప్రజలకున్న గాయమును పైపైన మాత్రమే బాగుచేయు దురు.

15 వారు తాము హేయక్రియలు చేయుచున్నందున సిగ్గుపడవలసి వచ్చెను గాని వారు ఏమాత్రమును సిగ్గుపడరు; అవమానము నొందితిమని వారికి తోచనేలేదు గనుక పడి పోవువారితో వారు పడిపోవుదురు, నేను వారిని విమర్శించు కాలమున వారు తొట్రిల్లుదురని యెహోవా సెల విచ్చుచున్నాడు.

16 యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడుమార్గ ములలో నిలిచి చూడుడి, పురాతనమార్గములనుగూర్చి విచారించుడి, మేలు కలుగు మార్గమేది అని యడిగి అందులో నడుచుకొనుడి, అప్పుడు మీకు నెమ్మది కలుగును. అయితే వారుమేము అందులో నడుచుకొనమని చెప్పు చున్నారు.

17 ​మిమ్మును కాపుకాయుటకు నేను కావలివారిని ఉంచియున్నాను; ఆలకించుడి, వారు చేయు బూరధ్వని వినబడుచున్నది.

18 అయితే మేము వినమని వారను చున్నారు; అన్యజనులారా, వినుడి; సంఘమా, వారికి జరిగిన దానిని తెలిసికొనుము.

19 భూలోకమా, వినుము; ఈ జనులు నా మాటలు వినకున్నారు, నా ధర్మశాస్త్రమును విసర్జించుచున్నారు గనుక తమ ఆలోచనలకు ఫలితమైన కీడు నేను వారిమీదికి రప్పించుచున్నాను.

20 షేబనుండి వచ్చు సాంబ్రాణి నాకేల? దూరదేశమునుండి వచ్చు మధురమైన చెరుకు నాకేల? మీ దహనబలులు నాకిష్ట మైనవి కావు, మీ బలులయందు నాకు సంతోషము లేదు.

21 ​కావున యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు ఈ జనుల మార్గమున నేడు అడ్డురాళ్లు వేయుదును; తండ్రులేమి కుమారులేమి అందరును అవి తగిలి కూలుదురు; ఇరుగుపొరుగువారును నశించెదరు.

22 ​యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడుఉత్తర దేశమునుండి యొక జనము వచ్చుచున్నది, భూదిగంత ములలోనుండి మహా జనము లేచి వచ్చుచున్నది.

23 వారు వింటిని ఈటెను వాడనేర్చినవారు, అది యొక క్రూర జనము; వారు జాలిలేనివారు, వారి స్వరము సముద్ర ఘోషవలె నున్నది, వారు గుఱ్ఱములెక్కి సవారిచేయు వారు; సీయోను కుమారీ, నీతో యుద్ధము చేయవలెనని వారు యోధులవలె వ్యూహము తీరియున్నారు.

24 దాని గూర్చిన వర్తమానము విని మా చేతులు బలహీనమగు చున్నవి, ప్రసవించు స్త్రీ వేదన పడునట్లు మేము వేదన పడుచున్నాము.

25 పొలములోనికి పోకుము, మార్గములో నడువకుము, శత్రువులు కత్తిని ఝుళిపించుచున్నారు, నలు దిక్కుల భయము తగులుచున్నది.

26 నా జనమా, పాడు చేయువాడు హఠాత్తుగా మామీదికి వచ్చుచున్నాడు. గోనెపట్ట కట్టుకొని బూడిదె చల్లుకొనుము; ఏక కుమారుని గూర్చి దుఃఖించునట్లు దుఃఖము సలుపుము ఘోరమైన దుఃఖము సలుపుము.

27 నీవు నా జనుల మార్గమును తెలిసి కొని పరీక్షించునట్లు నిన్ను వారికి వన్నెచూచువానిగాను వారిని నీకు లోహపు తుంటగాను నేను నియమించి యున్నాను.ఒ

28 వారందరు బహు ద్రోహులు, కొండె గాండ్రు, వారు మట్టిలోహము వంటివారు, వారందరు చెరుపువారు.

29 కొలిమితిత్తి బహుగా బుసలు కొట్టు చున్నది గాని అగ్నిలోనికి సీసమే వచ్చుచున్నది; వ్యర్థము గానే చొక్కముచేయుచు వచ్చెను. దుష్టులు చొక్క మునకు రారు.

30 యెహోవా వారిని త్రోసివేసెను గనుక త్రోసివేయవలసిన వెండియని వారికి పేరు పెట్టబడును.

1 O ye children of Benjamin, gather yourselves to flee out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and set up a sign of fire in Beth-haccerem: for evil appeareth out of the north, and great destruction.

2 I have likened the daughter of Zion to a comely and delicate woman.

3 The shepherds with their flocks shall come unto her; they shall pitch their tents against her round about; they shall feed every one in his place.

4 Prepare ye war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe unto us! for the day goeth away, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.

5 Arise, and let us go by night, and let us destroy her palaces.

6 For thus hath the Lord of hosts said, Hew ye down trees, and cast a mount against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.

7 As a fountain casteth out her waters, so she casteth out her wickedness: violence and spoil is heard in her; before me continually is grief and wounds.

8 Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.

9 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, They shall throughly glean the remnant of Israel as a vine: turn back thine hand as a grapegatherer into the baskets.

10 To whom shall I speak, and give warning, that they may hear? behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot hearken: behold, the word of the Lord is unto them a reproach; they have no delight in it.

11 Therefore I am full of the fury of the Lord; I am weary with holding in: I will pour it out upon the children abroad, and upon the assembly of young men together: for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him that is full of days.

12 And their houses shall be turned unto others, with their fields and wives together: for I will stretch out my hand upon the inhabitants of the land, saith the Lord.

13 For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely.

14 They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.

15 Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the Lord.

16 Thus saith the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.

17 Also I set watchmen over you, saying, Hearken to the sound of the trumpet. But they said, We will not hearken.

18 Therefore hear, ye nations, and know, O congregation, what is among them.

19 Hear, O earth: behold, I will bring evil upon this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not hearkened unto my words, nor to my law, but rejected it.

20 To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.

21 Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will lay stumblingblocks before this people, and the fathers and the sons together shall fall upon them; the neighbour and his friend shall perish.

22 Thus saith the Lord, Behold, a people cometh from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.

23 They shall lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea; and they ride upon horses, set in array as men for war against thee, O daughter of Zion.

24 We have heard the fame thereof: our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

25 Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and fear is on every side.

26 O daughter of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.

27 I have set thee for a tower and a fortress among my people, that thou mayest know and try their way.

28 They are all grievous revolters, walking with slanders: they are brass and iron; they are all corrupters.

29 The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.

30 Reprobate silver shall men call them, because the Lord hath rejected them.
