అపొస్తలుల కార్యములు 22
1 సహోదరులారా, తండ్రులారా, నేనిప్పుడు మీ యెదుట చెప్పు సమాధానము నాలకించుడి.
2 అతడు హెబ్రీభాషలో మాటలాడుట వారు విని ఎక్కువ నిశ్శబ్దముగా ఉండిరి. అప్పుడతడు ఈలాగు చెప్పసాగెను.
3 నేను కిలికియలోని తార్సులో పుట్టిన యూదుడను. అయితే ఈ పట్టణములో గమలీయేలు పాదములయొద్ద పెరిగి, మన పితరుల ధర్మశాస్త్రసంబంధమగు నిష్ఠయందు శిక్షితుడనై, మీరం
4 ఈ మార్గములోనున్న పురు షులను స్త్రీలను బంధించి చెరసాలలో వేయించుచు మరణమువరకు హింసించితిని.
5 ఇందునుగూర్చి ప్రధాన యాజకుడును పెద్ద లందరును నాకు సాక్షులైయున్నారు. నేను వారివలన సహోదరులయొద్దకు పత్రికలు తీసికొని, దమస్కులోని వారినికూడ బంధించి దండించుటకై యెరూషలేమునకు తేవలెనని అక్కడికి వెళ్లితిని.
6 నేను ప్రయాణము చేయుచు దమస్కునకు సమీపించినప్పుడు మధ్యాహ్నకాలమందు ఆకాశమునుండి గొప్ప వెలుగు అకస్మాత్తుగా నా చుట్టు ప్రకాశించెను.
7 నేను నేలమీద పడిసౌలా సౌలా, నీవెందుకు, నన్ను హింసించుచున్నావని నాతో ఒక స్వరము పలుకుట వింటిని.
8 అందుకు నేనుప్రభువా, నీవెవడవని అడిగినప్పుడు ఆయననేను నీవు హింసించుచున్న నజరేయుడనగు యేసును అని నాతో చెప్పెను.
9 నాతోకూడ నున్నవారు ఆ వెలుగును చూచిరి గాని నాతో మాటలాడినవాని స్వరము వారు వినలేదు.
10 అప్పుడు నేనుప్రభువా, నే నేమి చేయవలెనని అడుగగా, ప్రభువునీవు లేచి దమస్కులోనికి వెళ్లుము; అక్కడ నీవు చేయుటకు నియమింపబడినవన్నియు నీకు చెప్పబడునని నాతో అనెను.
11 ఆ వెలుగు యొక్క ప్రభావమువలన నేను చూడలేక పోయినందున నాతోకూడ ఉన్నవారు నన్ను నడిపింపగా దమస్కులోనికి వచ్చితిని.
12 అంతట ధర్మశాస్త్రము చొప్పున భక్తి పరుడును, అక్కడ కాపురమున్న యూదులందరిచేత మంచిపేరు పొందినవాడునైన అననీయ అను ఒకడు నాయొద్దకు వచ్చి నిలిచి
13 సౌలా! సహోదరా, దృష్టి పొందుమని నాతో చెప్పగా ఆ గడియలోనే నేను దృష్టిపొంది అతని చూచితిని.
14 అప్పుడతడుమన పితరుల దేవుడు తన చిత్తమును తెలిసికొనుటకును, ఆ నీతిమంతుని చూచుటకును, ఆయన నోటిమాట వినుటకును నిన్ను నియ మించియున్నాడు;
15 నీవు కన్నవాటిని గూర్చియు విన్న వాటిని గూర్చియు సకల మనుష్యులయెదుట ఆయనకు సాక్షివైయుందువు.
16 గనుక నీవు తడవు చేయుట ఎందుకు? లేచి ఆయన నామమునుబట్టి ప్రార్థనచేసి బాప్తిస్మము పొంది నీ పాపములను కడిగివేసికొనుమని చెప్పెను.
17 అంతట నేను యెరూషలేమునకు తిరిగి వచ్చి దేవాలయములో ప్రార్థన చేయుచుండగా పరవశుడనై ప్రభువును చూచితిని.
18 అప్పుడాయననీవు త్వరపడి యెరూషలేము విడిచి శీఘ్రముగా వెళ్లుము. నన్నుగూర్చి నీవిచ్చు సాక్ష్యము వారంగీకరింపరని నాతో చెప్పెను.
19 అందుకు నేనుప్రభువా, ప్రతి సమాజమందిరములోను నీయందు విశ్వాసముంచువారిని నేను చెరసాలలో వేయుచుకొట్టుచు నుంటినని వారికి బాగుగా తెలియును.
20 మరియు నీ సాక్షి యైన స్తెఫను రక్తము చిందింపబడినప్పుడు నేనుకూడ దగ్గర నిలిచి అందుకు సమ్మతించి అతని చంపినవారి వస్త్రములకు కావలియుంటినని చెప్పితిని.
21 అందుకు ఆయనవెళ్లుము, నేను దూరముగా అన్యజనులయొద్దకు నిన్ను పంపుదునని నాతో చెప్పెను.
22 ఈ మాటవరకు అతడు చెప్పినది వారు ఆలకించు చుండిరి. అప్పడు ఇటువంటివాడు బ్రదుకతగడు, భూమిమీద ఉండకుండ వానిని చంపివేయుడని కేకలు వేసిరి.
23 వారు కేకలువేయుచు తమపై బట్టలు విదుల్చుకొని ఆకా శముతట్టు దుమ్మెత్తి పోయుచుండగా
24 వారతనికి విరోధముగా ఈలాగు కేకలు వేసిన హేతువేమో తెలిసికొనుటకై, సహస్రాధిపతి కొరడాలతో అతనిని కొట్టి, విమ ర్శింపవలెనని చెప్పి, కోటలోనికి తీసికొనిపొండని ఆజ్ఞా పించెను.
25 వారు పౌలును వారులతో కట్టుచున్నప్పుడు అతడు తన దగ్గర నిలిచియున్న శతాధిపతిని చూచిశిక్ష విధింపకయే రోమీయుడైన మనుష్యుని కొరడాలతో కొట్టుటకు మీకు అధికారమున్నదా? అని యడిగెను.
26 శతాధిపతి ఆ మాట విని సహస్రాధిపతియొద్దకు వచ్చినీవేమి చేయబోవుచున్నావు? ఈ మనుష్యుడు రోమీయుడు సుమీ అనెను.
27 అప్పుడు సహస్రాధిపతి వచ్చి అతనిని చూచినీవు రోమీయుడవా? అది నాతో చెప్పు మనగా
28 అతడు అవునని చెప్పెను. సహస్రాధిపతినేను బహు ద్రవ్యమిచ్చి యీ పౌరత్వము సంపాదించు కొంటిననెను; అందుకు పౌలునేనైతే పుట్టుకతోనే రోమీయుడ ననెను.
29 కాబట్టి అతని విమర్శింపబోయిన వారు వెంటనే అతనిని విడిచిపెట్టిరి. మరియు అతడు రోమీయుడని తెలిసికొన్నప్పుడు అతని బంధించినందుకు సహస్రాధిపతికూడ భయపడెను.
30 మరునాడు, యూదులు అతనిమీద మోపిన నేరమేమో తాను నిశ్చయముగా తెలిసికొనగోరి, సహస్రాధిపతి అతని వదిలించి, ప్రధానయాజకులును మహా సభవారందరును కూడి రావలెనని ఆజ్ఞాపించి, పౌలును తీసి కొనివచ్చి వారియెదుట నిలువబెట్టెను.
1 Men, brethren, and fathers, hear ye my defence which I make now unto you.
2 (And when they heard that he spake in the Hebrew tongue to them, they kept the more silence: and he saith,)
3 I am verily a man which am a Jew, born in Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, yet brought up in this city at the feet of Gamaliel, and taught according to the perfect manner of the law of the fathers, and was zealous toward God, as ye all are this day.
4 And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
5 As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished.
6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.
9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
10 And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.
11 And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.
12 And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there,
13 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.
14 And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
15 For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
17 And it came to pass, that, when I was come again to Jerusalem, even while I prayed in the temple, I was in a trance;
18 And saw him saying unto me, Make haste, and get thee quickly out of Jerusalem: for they will not receive thy testimony concerning me.
19 And I said, Lord, they know that I imprisoned and beat in every synagogue them that believed on thee:
20 And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.
21 And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.
22 And they gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live.
23 And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air,
24 The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him.
25 And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned?
26 When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman.
27 Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea.
28 And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born.
29 Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him.
30 On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them.
Jeremiah 40 in Tamil and English
1 जब जल्लादों के प्रधान नबूजरदान ने यिर्मयाह को रामा में उन सब यरूशलेमी और यहूदी बंधुओं के बीच हथकडिय़ों से बन्धा हुआ पाकर जो बाबुल जाने को थे छुड़ा लिया, उसके बाद यहोवा का वचन उसके पास पहुंचा।
The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, after that Nebuzar-adan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all that were carried away captive of Jerusalem and Judah, which were carried away captive unto Babylon.
2 जल्लादों के प्रधान नबूजरदान ने यिर्मयाह को उस समय अपने पास बुला लिया, और कहा, इस स्थान पर यह जो विपत्ति पड़ी है वह तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा की कही हुई थी।
And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said unto him, The Lord thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place.
3 ओर जैसा यहोवा ने कहा था वैसा ही उसने पूरा भी किया है। तुम लोगों ने जो यहोवा के विरुद्ध पाप किया ओर उसकी आज्ञा नहीं मानी, इस कारण तुम्हारी यह दशा हुई है।
Now the Lord hath brought it, and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.
4 अब मैं तेरी इन हथकडिय़ों को काटे देता हूँ, और यदि मेरे संग बाबुल में जाना तुझे अच्छा लगे तो चल, वहां मैं तुझ पर कृपादृष्टि रखूंगा; और यदि मेरे संग बाबुल जाना तुझे न भाए, तो यहीं रह जा। देख, सारा देश तेरे साम्हने पड़ा हे, जिधर जाना तुझे अच्छा और ठीक जंचे उधर ही चला जा।
And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thine hand. If it seem good unto thee to come with me into Babylon, come; and I will look well unto thee: but if it seem ill unto thee to come with me into Babylon, forbear: behold, all the land is before thee: whither it seemeth good and convenient for thee to go, thither go.
5 वह वहीं था कि नबूजरदान ने फिर उस से कहा, गदल्याह जो अहीकाम का पुत्र और शापान का पोता है, जिस को बाबुल के राजा ने यहूदा के नगरों पर अधिकारी ठहराया है, उसके पास लौट जा और उसके संग लोगों के बीच रह, वा जहां कहीं तुझे जाना ठीक जान पड़े वहीं चला जा। से जल्लादों के प्रधान ने उसको सीधा और कुछ द्रव्य भी देकर विदा किया।
Now while he was not yet gone back, he said, Go back also to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people: or go wheresoever it seemeth convenient unto thee to go. So the captain of the guard gave him victuals and a reward, and let him go.
6 तब यिर्मयाह अहीकाम के पुत्र गदल्याह के पास मिस्पा को गया, और वहां उन लोगों के बीच जो देश में रह गए थे, रहने लगा।
Then went Jeremiah unto Gedaliah the son of Ahikam to Mizpah; and dwelt with him among the people that were left in the land.
7 योद्धाओं के जो दल दिहात में थे, जब उनके सब प्रधानों ने अपने जनों समेत सुना कि बाबुल के राजा ने अहीकाम के पुत्र गदल्याह को देश का अधिकारी ठहराया है, और देश के जिन कंगाल लोगों को वह बाबुल को नहीं ले गया, क्या पुरुष, क्या स्त्री, क्या बाल-बच्चे, उन सभों को उसे सौंप दिया है,
Now when all the captains of the forces which were in the fields, even they and their men, heard that the king of Babylon had made Gedaliah the son of Ahikam governor in the land, and had committed unto him men, and women, and children, and of the poor of the land, of them that were not carried away captive to Babylon;
8 तब नतन्याह का पुत्र इश्माएल, कारेह के पुत्र योहानान, योनातान और तन्हूसेत का पुत्र सरायाह, एपै नतोपावासी के पुत्र और किसी माकावासी का पुत्र याजन्याह अपने जनों समेत गदल्याह के पास मिस्पा में आए।
Then they came to Gedaliah to Mizpah, even Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and Johanan and Jonathan the sons of Kareah, and Seraiah the son of Tanhumeth, and the sons of Ephai the Netophathite, and Jezaniah the son of a Maachathite, they and their men.
9 और गदल्याह जो अहीकाम का पुत्र और शापान का पोता था, उसने उन से और उनके जनों से शपथ खाकर कहा, कसदियों के आधीन रहने से मत डरो। इसी देश में रहते हुए बाबुल के राजा के आधीन रहो तब तुम्हारा भला होगा।
And Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan sware unto them and to their men, saying, Fear not to serve the Chaldeans: dwell in the land, and serve the king of Babylon, and it shall be well with you.
10 मैं तो इसीलिये मिस्पा में रहता हूं कि जो कसदी लोग हमारे यहां आएं, उनके साम्हने हाज़िर हुआ करूं; परन्तु तुम दाखमधु और धूपकाल के फल और तेल को बटोर के अपने बरतनों में रखो और अपने लिए हुए नगरों में बसे रहो।
As for me, behold, I will dwell at Mizpah to serve the Chaldeans, which will come unto us: but ye, gather ye wine, and summer fruits, and oil, and put them in your vessels, and dwell in your cities that ye have taken.
11 फिर जब मोआबियों, अम्मोनियों, एदोमियों और अन्य सब जातियों के बीच रहने वाले सब यहूदियों ने सुना कि बाबुल के राजा ने यहूदियों में से कुछ लोगों को बचा लिया और उन पर गदल्याह को जो अहीकाम का पुत्र और शापान का पोता है अधिकारी नियुक्त किया है,
Likewise when all the Jews that were in Moab, and among the Ammonites, and in Edom, and that were in all the countries, heard that the king of Babylon had left a remnant of Judah, and that he had set over them Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan;
12 तब सब यहूदी जिन जिन स्थानों में तितर-बितर हो गए थे, वहां से लौट कर यहूदा देश के मिस्पा नगर में गदल्याह के पास, और बहुत दाखमधु और धूपकाल के फल बटोरने लगे।
Even all the Jews returned out of all places whither they were driven, and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, unto Mizpah, and gathered wine and summer fruits very much.
13 तब कारेह का पुत्र योहानान और मैदान में रहने वाले योद्धाओं के सब दलों के प्रधान मिस्पा में गदल्याह के पास आकर कहने लगे, क्या तू जानता है
Moreover Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that were in the fields, came to Gedaliah to Mizpah,
14 कि अम्मोनियों के राजा बालीस ने नतन्याह के पुत्र इश्माएल को तुझे जान से मारने के लिये भेजा है? परन्तु अहीकाम के पुत्र गदल्याह ने उनकी प्रतीति न की।
And said unto him, Dost thou certainly know that Baalis the king of the Ammonites hath sent Ishmael the son of Nethaniah to slay thee? But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam believed them not.
15 फिर कारेह के पुत्र योहानान ने गदल्याह से मिस्पा में छिप कर कहा, मुझे जा कर नतन्याह के पुत्र इश्माएल को मार डालने दे ओर कोई इसे न जानेगा। वह क्यों तुझे मार डाले, और जितने यहूदी लोग तेरे पास इकट्ठे हुए हैं वे क्यों तितर-बितर हो जाएं और बचे हुए यहूदी क्यों नाश हों?
Then Johanan the son of Kareah spake to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, Let me go, I pray thee, and I will slay Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man shall know it: wherefore should he slay thee, that all the Jews which are gathered unto thee should be scattered, and the remnant in Judah perish?
16 अहीकाम के पुत्र गदल्याह ने कारेह के पुत्र योहानान से कहा, ऐसा काम मत कर, तू इश्माएल के विषय में झूठ बोलता है।
But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said unto Johanan the son of Kareah, Thou shalt not do this thing: for thou speakest falsely of Ishmael.
