1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.శిక్షను ప్రేమించువాడు జ్ఞానమును ప్రేమించు వాడు గద్దింపును అసహ్యించుకొనువాడు పశుప్రాయుడు

2 A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.సత్పురుషునికి యెహోవా కటాక్షము చూపును దురాలోచనలుగలవాడు నేరస్థుడని ఆయన తీర్పు తీర్చును.

3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.భక్తిహీనతవలన ఎవరును స్థిరపరచబడరు నీతిమంతుల వేరు కదలదు

4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.యోగ్యురాలు తన పెనిమిటికి కిరీటము సిగ్గు తెచ్చునది వాని యెముకలకు కుళ్లు.

5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.నీతిమంతుల తలంపులు న్యాయయుక్తములు భక్తిహీనులు చెప్పు ఆలోచనలు మోసకరములు.

6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.భక్తిహీనుల మాటలు నరహత్య చేయ పొంచువారి వంటివి యథార్థవంతుల నోరు వారిని విడిపించును.

7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.భక్తిహీనులు పాడై లేకపోవుదురు నీతిమంతుల యిల్లు నిలుచును.

8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.ఒక్కొక్క మనుష్యుడు తన వివేకముకొలది పొగడ బడును కుటిలచిత్తుడు తృణీకరింపబడును.

9 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.ఆహారము లేకయున్నను తనను తాను పొగడుకొను వానికంటె దాసుడుగల అల్పుడు గొప్పవాడు.

10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.నీతిమంతుడు తన పశువుల ప్రాణమును దయతో చూచును భక్తిహీనుల వాత్సల్యము క్రూరత్వమే.

11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.తన భూమిని సేద్యపరచుకొనువానికి ఆహారము సమృ ద్ధిగా కలుగును వ్యర్థమైనవాటిని అనుసరించువాడు బుద్ధిలేనివాడు.

12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.భక్తిహీనులు చెడ్డవారికి దొరుకు దోపుడుసొమ్మును అపే క్షించుదురు నీతిమంతుల వేరు చిగుర్చును.

13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.పెదవులవలని దోషము అపాయకరమైన ఉరి నీతిమంతుడు ఆపదను తప్పించుకొనును.

14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.ఒకడు తన నోటి ఫలము చేత తృప్తిగా మేలుపొందును ఎవని క్రియల ఫలము వానికి వచ్చును.

15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.మూఢుని మార్గము వాని దృష్టికి సరియైనది జ్ఞానముగలవాడు ఆలోచన నంగీకరించును.

16 A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.మూఢుడు కోపపడునది నిమిషములోనే బయలుపడును వివేకి నిందను వెల్లడిపరచక యూరకుండును.

17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.సత్యవాద ప్రియుడు నీతిగల మాటలు పలుకును కూటసాక్షి మోసపు మాటలు చెప్పును.

18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.కత్తిపోటువంటి మాటలు పలుకువారు కలరు జ్ఞానుల నాలుక ఆరోగ్యదాయకము.

19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.నిజమాడు పెదవులు నిత్యము స్థిరమై యుండును అబద్ధమాడు నాలుక క్షణమాత్రమే యుండును.

20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.కీడు కల్పించువారి హృదయములో మోసముకలదు సమాధానపరచుటకై ఆలోచన చెప్పువారు సంతోష భరితులగుదురు.

21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.నీతిమంతునికి ఏ ఆపదయు సంభవింపదు. భక్తిహీనులు కీడుతో నిండియుందురు.

22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.అబద్దమాడు పెదవులు యెహోవాకు హేయములు సత్యవర్తనులు ఆయనకిష్టులు.

23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.వివేకియైనవాడు తన విద్యను దాచి పెట్టును అవివేక హృదయులు తమ మూఢత్వము వెల్లడి చేయుదురు.

24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.శ్రద్ధగా పని చేయువారు ఏలుబడి చేయుదురు సోమరులు వెట్టి పనులు చేయవలసి వచ్చును.

25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.ఒకని హృదయములోని విచారము దాని క్రుంగ జేయును దయగల మాట దాని సంతోషపెట్టును.

26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.నీతిమంతుడు తన పొరుగువానికి దారి చూపును భక్తిహీనుల ప్రవర్తన వారిని దారి తప్పించును.

27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.సోమరి వేటాడినను పట్టుకొనడు చురుకుగా నుండుట గొప్ప భాగ్యము.

28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.నీతిమార్గమునందు జీవము కలదు దాని త్రోవలో మరణమే లేదు.
