అంచెవారు రాజాజ్ఞ చేత త్వరపెట్టబడి బయలువెళ్లిరి. ఆ యాజ్ఞ షూషను కోటలో ఇయ్యబడెను, దాని విని షూషను పట్టణము కలతపడెను. అంతట రాజును హామానును విందుకు కూర్చుండిరి.

రాజు రాణియైన ఎస్తేరుతోయూదులు షూషను కోటయందు ఐదువందలమందిని హామానుయొక్క పదిమంది కుమారులను బొత్తిగా నాశనము చేసియున్నారు; రాజుయొక్క కొదువ సంస్థానములలో వారు ఏమిచేసి యుందురో; ఇప్పుడు నీ మనవి ఏమిటి? అది నీకనుగ్ర హింపబడును,నీవు ఇంకను అడుగునదేమి? అది దయచేయ బడునని సెలవియ్యగా
