7 ఎలీషా దమస్కునకు వచ్చెను. ఆ కాలమున సిరియా రాజైన బెన్హదదు రోగియై యుండి, దైవజనుడైన అతడు ఇక్కడికి వచ్చియున్నాడని తెలిసికొని
8 హజాయేలును పిలిచినీవు ఒక కానుకను చేత పట్టుకొని దైవజనుడైన అతనిని ఎదుర్కొన బోయిఈ రోగముపోయి నేను బాగుపడుదునా లేదా అని అతనిద్వారా యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణ చేయుమని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చిపంపెను.
9 కాబట్టి హజా యేలు దమస్కులోనున్న మంచి వస్తువులన్నిటిలో నలువది ఒంటెల మోతంత కానుకగా తీసికొని అతనిని ఎదుర్కొన బోయి అతని ముందర నిలిచినీ కుమారుడును సిరియా రాజునైన బెన్హదదునాకు కలిగిన రోగము పోయి నేను బాగుపడుదునా లేదా అని నిన్నడుగుటకు నన్ను పంపెనని చెప్పెను.
10 అప్పుడు ఎలీషానీవు అతని యొద్దకు పోయినిశ్చయముగా నీకు స్వస్థతకలుగవచ్చుననిచెప్పుము. అయినప్పటికిని అతనికి అవశ్యముగ మరణము సంభవించు నని యెహోవా నాకు తెలియజేసెనని పలికి
7 And Elisha came to Damascus; and Ben-hadad the king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, The man of God is come hither.
8 And the king said unto Hazael, Take a present in thine hand, and go, meet the man of God, and inquire of the Lord by him, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
9 So Hazael went to meet him, and took a present with him, even of every good thing of Damascus, forty camels’ burden, and came and stood before him, and said, Thy son Ben-hadad king of Syria hath sent me to thee, saying, Shall I recover of this disease?
10 And Elisha said unto him, Go, say unto him, Thou mayest certainly recover: howbeit the Lord hath shewed me that he shall surely die.
