8 మనము ఏ మార్గమున పోవుదమని యెహోషాపాతు అడుగగా అతడుఎదోము అరణ్య మార్గమున పోవుదుమని చెప్పెను.
9 ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును యూదారాజును ఎదోమురాజును బయలుదేరి యేడు దిన ములు చుట్టు తిరిగిన తరువాత, వారితో కూడనున్న దండువారికిని పశువులకును నీళ్లు లేకపోయెను.
10 ఇశ్రా యేలురాజుకటకటా ముగ్గురు రాజులమైన మనలను మోయాబీయులచేతికి అప్పగింపవలెనని యెహోవా మనలను పిలిచెననగా
11 యెహోషా పాతు అతనిద్వారా మనము యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణచేయుటకు యెహోవా ప్రవక్తలలో ఒకడైనను ఇచ్చట లేడా అని యడిగెను. అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు సేవకులలో ఒకడుఏలీయా చేతులమీద నీళ్లుపోయుచు వచ్చిన1షాపాతు కుమారుడైన ఎలీషా ఇక్కడ ఉన్నాడని చెప్పగా
12 యహోషాపాతు యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞ యితని ద్వారామనకు దొరుకుననెను. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును యెహోషాపాతును ఎదోమురాజును అతని యొద్దకుపోగా
13 ఎలీషా ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును చూచినాతో నీకు నిమిత్తమేమి? నీ తలిదండ్రులుంచుకొనిన ప్రవక్తలయొద్దకు పొమ్మని చెప్పెను.ఆలాగనవద్దు, మోయాబీయులచేతికి అప్పగింపవలెనని యెహోవా, రాజులమైన మా ముగ్గురిని పిలిచెనని ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు అతనితో అనినప్పుడు
14 ఎలీషా ఇట్లనెనుఎవని సన్నిధిని నేను నిలువబడియున్నానో, ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడైన ఆ యెహోవా జీవముతోడు యూదారాజైన యెహోషా పాతును నేను గౌరవము చేయనియెడల నిన్ను చూచుటకైనను లక్ష్యపెట్టుటకైనను ఒప్పకపోదును.
15 నాయొద్దకు వీణ వాయించగల యొకనిని తీసి కొనిరమ్ము. వాద్యకు డొకడు వచ్చి వాయించుచుండగా యెహోవా హస్తము2 అతనిమీదికి వచ్చెను గనుక అతడు ఈ మాట ప్రకటన చేసెను.
16 యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగాఈ లోయలో చాలా గోతులను త్రవ్వించుడి;
17 యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగాగాలియే గాని వర్షమే గాని రాక పోయినను, మీరును మీ మందలును మీ పశువులును త్రాగుటకు ఈ లోయ నీళ్లతో నిండును.
18 ఇది యెహోవా దృష్టికి అల్పమే, ఆయన మోయాబీయులను మీచేతికి అప్పగించును.
19 మీరు ప్రాకారములుగల ప్రతి పట్టణమును రమ్యమైన ప్రతి పట్టణమును కొల్లబెట్టి, మంచి చెట్లనెల్ల నరికి, నీళ్ల బావులన్నిటిని పూడ్చి, సమస్తమైన మంచి భూములను రాళ్లతో నెరిపివేయుదురు అనెను.
20 ఉదయ నైవేద్యము అర్పించు సమయమందు నీళ్లు ఎదోము మార్గమున రాగా దేశము నీళ్లతో నిండెను.
21 తమతో యుద్ధము చేయుటకు రాజులు వచ్చియున్నారని మోయాబీయులు విని, అల్పులనేమి ఘనులనేమి ఆయుధములు ధరించుకొనగల వారినందరిని సమకూర్చు కొని దేశపు సరిహద్దునందు నిలిచిరి.
22 ఉదయమందు వీరు లేచినప్పుడు సూర్యుడు నీళ్లమీద ప్రకాశింపగా, అవతలి నీళ్లు మోయాబీయులకు రక్తమువలె కనబడెను
23 గనుక వారు అది రక్తము సుమా; రాజులు ఒకరినొకరు హతము చేసికొని నిజముగా హతులైరి; మోయాబీయులారా, దోపుడు సొమ్ము పట్టుకొందము రండని చెప్పుకొనిరి.
24 వారు ఇశ్రాయేలువారి దండుదగ్గరకు రాగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు లేచి వారిని హతము చేయుచుండిరి గనుక మోయాబీయులు వారియెదుట నిలువలేక పారిపోయిరి; ఇశ్రా యేలీయులు వారి దేశములో చొరబడి మోయాబీయులను హతము చేసిరి.
25 మరియు వారు పట్టణములను పడ గొట్టి, సమస్తమైన మంచి భూభాగములమీదను తలయొక రాయి వేసి నింపి, నీళ్ల బావులన్నిటిని పూడ్చి, మంచి చెట్లన్నిటిని నరికివేసిరి. కీర్హరెశెతు పట్టణమును మాత్రము వారు విడిచిపెట్టిరి గనుక దాని ప్రాకారము నిలిచి యుండెను గాని వడిసెలలు విసరువారు దాని చుట్టుకొని రాళ్లు విసరుచు వచ్చిరి.
26 మోయాబురాజు యుద్ధము బహు కఠినముగా జరుగుట చూచి కత్తిదూయు ఏడువందల మందిని ఏర్పరచుకొని, ఎదోమురాజునొద్దకు తీసికొని పోవు టకు యత్నించెను గాని అది వారివలన కాకపోయెను.
8 And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom.
9 So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom: and they fetched a compass of seven days’ journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them.
10 And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the Lord hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab!
11 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord, that we may inquire of the Lord by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.
12 And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the Lord is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
13 And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the Lord hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab.
14 And Elisha said, As the Lord of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.
15 But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him.
16 And he said, Thus saith the Lord, Make this valley full of ditches.
17 For thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.
18 And this is but a light thing in the sight of the Lord: he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand.
19 And ye shall smite every fenced city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.
20 And it came to pass in the morning, when the meat offering was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.
21 And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and upward, and stood in the border.
22 And they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood:
23 And they said, This is blood: the kings are surely slain, and they have smitten one another: now therefore, Moab, to the spoil.
24 And when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and smote the Moabites, so that they fled before them: but they went forward smiting the Moabites, even in their country.
25 And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kir-haraseth left they the stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it.
26 And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not.

11 యెహోషా పాతు అతనిద్వారా మనము యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణచేయుటకు యెహోవా ప్రవక్తలలో ఒకడైనను ఇచ్చట లేడా అని యడిగెను. అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు సేవకులలో ఒకడుఏలీయా చేతులమీద నీళ్లుపోయుచు వచ్చిన1షాపాతు కుమారుడైన ఎలీషా ఇక్కడ ఉన్నాడని చెప్పగా
But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord, that we may inquire of the Lord by him? And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah.
12 యహోషాపాతు యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞ యితని ద్వారామనకు దొరుకుననెను. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును యెహోషాపాతును ఎదోమురాజును అతని యొద్దకుపోగా
And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the Lord is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him.
13 ఎలీషా ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును చూచినాతో నీకు నిమిత్తమేమి? నీ తలిదండ్రులుంచుకొనిన ప్రవక్తలయొద్దకు పొమ్మని చెప్పెను.ఆలాగనవద్దు, మోయాబీయులచేతికి అప్పగింపవలెనని యెహోవా, రాజులమైన మా ముగ్గురిని పిలిచెనని ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు అతనితో అనినప్పుడు

14 ఎలీషా ఇట్లనెనుఎవని సన్నిధిని నేను నిలువబడియున్నానో, ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడైన ఆ యెహోవా జీవముతోడు యూదారాజైన యెహోషా పాతును నేను గౌరవము చేయనియెడల నిన్ను చూచుటకైనను లక్ష్యపెట్టుటకైనను ఒప్పకపోదును.
And Elisha said, As the Lord of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.
15 నాయొద్దకు వీణ వాయించగల యొకనిని తీసి కొనిరమ్ము. వాద్యకు డొకడు వచ్చి వాయించుచుండగా యెహోవా హస్తము2 అతనిమీదికి వచ్చెను గనుక అతడు ఈ మాట ప్రకటన చేసెను.
But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him.
16 యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగాఈ లోయలో చాలా గోతులను త్రవ్వించుడి;
And he said, Thus saith the Lord, Make this valley full of ditches.
17 యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగాగాలియే గాని వర్షమే గాని రాక పోయినను, మీరును మీ మందలును మీ పశువులును త్రాగుటకు ఈ లోయ నీళ్లతో నిండును.
For thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts.
18 ఇది యెహోవా దృష్టికి అల్పమే, ఆయన మోయాబీయులను మీచేతికి అప్పగించును.
And this is but a light thing in the sight of the Lord: he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand.
19 మీరు ప్రాకారములుగల ప్రతి పట్టణమును రమ్యమైన ప్రతి పట్టణమును కొల్లబెట్టి, మంచి చెట్లనెల్ల నరికి, నీళ్ల బావులన్నిటిని పూడ్చి, సమస్తమైన మంచి భూములను రాళ్లతో నెరిపివేయుదురు అనెను.
And ye shall smite every fenced city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.
20 ఉదయ నైవేద్యము అర్పించు సమయమందు నీళ్లు ఎదోము మార్గమున రాగా దేశము నీళ్లతో నిండెను.
And it came to pass in the morning, when the meat offering was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.
21 తమతో యుద్ధము చేయుటకు రాజులు వచ్చియున్నారని మోయాబీయులు విని, అల్పులనేమి ఘనులనేమి ఆయుధములు ధరించుకొనగల వారినందరిని సమకూర్చు కొని దేశపు సరిహద్దునందు నిలిచిరి.
And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armour, and upward, and stood in the border.
22 ఉదయమందు వీరు లేచినప్పుడు సూర్యుడు నీళ్లమీద ప్రకాశింపగా, అవతలి నీళ్లు మోయాబీయులకు రక్తమువలె కనబడెను
And they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood:
23 గనుక వారు అది రక్తము సుమా; రాజులు ఒకరినొకరు హతము చేసికొని నిజముగా హతులైరి; మోయాబీయులారా, దోపుడు సొమ్ము పట్టుకొందము రండని చెప్పుకొనిరి.
And they said, This is blood: the kings are surely slain, and they have smitten one another: now therefore, Moab, to the spoil.
24 వారు ఇశ్రాయేలువారి దండుదగ్గరకు రాగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు లేచి వారిని హతము చేయుచుండిరి గనుక మోయాబీయులు వారియెదుట నిలువలేక పారిపోయిరి; ఇశ్రా యేలీయులు వారి దేశములో చొరబడి మోయాబీయులను హతము చేసిరి.
