అంతట ఆ పట్టణపువారుఈ పట్టణమున్న చోటు రమ్యమైనదని మా యేలినవాడవైన నీకు కనబడుచున్నది గాని నీళ్లు మంచివి కావు. అందుచేత భూమియు నిస్సారమై యున్నదని ఎలీషాతో అనగా

| the situation | מוֹשַׁ֤ב | môšab | moh-SHAHV |
| city this of | הָעִיר֙ | hāʿîr | ha-EER |
| is pleasant, | ט֔וֹב | ṭôb | tove |
| as | כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר | kaʾăšer | ka-uh-SHER |
| my lord | אֲדֹנִ֖י | ʾădōnî | uh-doh-NEE |
| seeth: | רֹאֶ֑ה | rōʾe | roh-EH |
| water the but | וְהַמַּ֥יִם | wĕhammayim | veh-ha-MA-yeem |
| is naught, | רָעִ֖ים | rāʿîm | ra-EEM |
| and the ground | וְהָאָ֥רֶץ | wĕhāʾāreṣ | veh-ha-AH-rets |
