1 After these things, and this faithfulness, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fortified cities, and thought to win them for himself.రాజు ఇట్టి నమ్మకమైన చర్య చూపిన తరువాత... అష్షూరురాజైన సన్హెరీబు వచ్చి, యూదాదేశములో చొరబడి ప్రాకారపురములయెదుట దిగి వాటిని లోపరచుకొన జూచెను.

2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,​సన్హెరీబు దండెత్తి వచ్చి యెరూషలేముమీద యుద్ధము చేయనుద్దేశించి యున్నాడని హిజ్కియాచూచి

3 he took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city; and they helped him.పట్టణముబయటనున్న ఊటల నీళ్లను అడ్డవలెనని తలచి,తన యధిపతులతోను పరాక్రమశాలులతోను యోచనచేయగా వారతనికి సహాయము చేసిరి.

4 So there was gathered much people together, and they stopped all the fountains, and the brook that flowed through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find much water?బహుజనులు పోగై అష్షూరు రాజులు రానేల? విస్తారమైనజలము వారికి దొరుక నేల? అనుకొని ఊటలన్నిటిని దేశమధ్యముగుండ పారు చున్న కాలువను అడ్డిరి.

5 And he took courage, and built up all the wall that was broken down, and raised `it' up to the towers, and the other wall without, and strengthened Millo `in' the city of David, and made weapons and shields in abundance.మరియు రాజు ధైర్యము తెచ్చు కొని, పాడైన గోడ యావత్తు కట్టించి, గోపురములవరకు దానిని ఎత్తు చేయించి, బయట మరియొక గోడను కట్టించి, దావీదు పట్టణములో మిల్లో దుర్గమును బాగు చేయించెను. మరియు ఈటెలను డాళ్లను విస్తారముగా చేయించెను.

6 And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the broad place at the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,జనులమీద సైన్యాధిపతులను నియమించి పట్టణపు గుమ్మములకు పోవు రాజవీధిలోనికి వారిని తన యొద్దకు రప్పించి వారిని ఈలాగు హెచ్చరికచేసెను

7 Be strong and of good courage, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him; for there is a greater with us than with him:మీరు దిగులుపడకుడి, ధైర్యము విడువకుడి; అష్షూరు రాజుకైనను అతనితో కూడనున్న సైన్యమంతటికైనను మీరు భయపడవద్దు, విస్మయమొందవద్దు, అతనికి కలిగియున్న సహాయముకంటె ఎక్కువ సహాయము మనకు కలదు.

8 with him is an arm of flesh; but with us is Jehovah our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.మాంససంబంధమైన బాహువే అతనికి అండ, మనకు సహాయము చేయుటకును మన యుద్ధములను జరిగించుట కును మన దేవుడైన యెహోవా మనకు తోడుగా ఉన్నాడని చెప్పగా జనులు యూదారాజైన హిజ్కియా చెప్పిన మాటలయందు నమి్మకయుంచిరి.

9 After this did Sennacherib king of Assyria send his servants to Jerusalem, (now he was before Lachish, and all his power with him,) unto Hezekiah king of Judah, and unto all Judah that were at Jerusalem, saying,ఇదియైన తరువాత అష్షూరురాజైన సన్హెరీబు తన బలగ మంతటితో లాకీషును ముట్టడివేయుచుండి, యెరూషలేమునకు యూదారాజైన హిజ్కియా యొద్దకును, యెరూషలేమునందున్న యూదావారందరియొద్దకును తన సేవకులను పంపి ఈలాగు ప్రకటన చేయించెను

10 Thus saith Sennacherib king of Assyria, Whereon do ye trust, that ye abide the siege in Jerusalem?అష్షూరురాజైన సన్హెరీబు సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగా దేని నమి్మ మీరు ముట్టిడివేయబడియున్న యెరూషలేములో నిలుచు చున్నారు?

11 Doth not Hezekiah persuade you, to give you over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, Jehovah our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?​కరవుచేతను దాహముచేతను మిమ్మును చంపు టకైమన దేవుడైన యెహోవా అష్షూరురాజు చేతిలో నుండి మనలను విడిపించునని చెప్పి హిజ్కియా మిమ్మును ప్రేరేపించుచున్నాడు గదా?

12 Hath not the same Hezekiah taken away his high places and his altars, and commanded Judah and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall worship before one altar, and upon it shall ye burn incense?​ఆ హిజ్కియా, మీరు ఒక్క బలిపీఠము ఎదుట నమస్కరించి దానిమీద ధూపము వేయవలెనని యూదావారికిని యెరూషలేమువారికిని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చి, యెహోవా ఉన్నతస్థలములను బలిపీఠములను తీసి వేసినవాడుకాడా?

13 Know ye not what I and my fathers have done unto all the peoples of the lands? Were the gods of the nations of the lands in any wise able to deliver their land out of my hand?​​నేనును నా పితరులును ఇతరదేశముల జనుల కందరికిని ఏమేమి చేసితిమో మీరెరుగరా? ఆ దేశ జనుల దేవతలు వారి దేశములను నా చేతిలోనుండి యేమాత్రమైనను రక్షింప చాలియుండెనా?

14 Who was there among all the gods of those nations which my fathers utterly destroyed, that could deliver his people out of my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you out of my hand?మీ దేవుడు మిమ్మును నా చేతిలోనుండి విడిపింపగలడనుకొనుటకు, నా పితరులు బొత్తిగా నిర్మూలము చేసిన ఆ యా దేశస్థుల సకల దేవతలలోను తన జనులను నా చేతిలోనుండి విడిపింప గలిగిన దేవుడొకడైన యుండెనా?

15 Now therefore let not Hezekiah deceive you, nor persuade you after this manner, neither believe ye him; for no god of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand, and out of the hand of my fathers: how much less shall your God deliver you out of my hand?కాబట్టి యిప్పుడు హిజ్కియాచేత మీరు మోసపోకుడి, మీరు ఇట్టి ప్రేరేపణకు లోబడకుడి, అతని నమ్ముకొనకుడి,యే జనుల దేవు డైనను ఏ రాజ్యపు దేవుడైనను తన జనులను నా చేతిలో నుండి గాని నా పితరుల చేతిలోనుండి గాని విడిపింపలేక పోగా, మీ దేవుడు నా చేతిలోనుండి మిమ్మును మొదలే విడిపింపలేక పోవునుగదా అనెను.

16 And his servants spake yet more against Jehovah God, and against his servant Hezekiah.అతని సేవకులు దేవు డైన యెహోవామీదను ఆయన సేవకుడైన హిజ్కియా మీదను ఇంకను పేలాపనలు పేలిరి.

17 He wrote also letters, to rail on Jehovah, the God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying, As the gods of the nations of the lands, which have not delivered their people out of my hand, so shall not the God of Hezekiah deliver his people out of my hand.అదియుగాక ఇతర దేశముల జనుల దేవతలు తమ జనులను నా చేతిలోనుండి యేలాగున విడిపింపలేకపోయిరో ఆలాగున హిజ్కియా సేవించు దేవుడును తన జనులను నా చేతిలోనుండి విడిపింప లేకపోవునని ఇశ్రాయేలు దేవుడైన యెహోవాను నిందించుటకును, ఆయనమీద అపవాదములు పలుకుటకును అతడు పత్రికలు వ్రాసి పంపెను.

18 And they cried with a loud voice in the Jews' language unto the people of Jerusalem that were on the wall, to affright them, and to trouble them; that they might take the city.అప్పుడు వారు పట్టణమును పట్టుకొనవలెనన్న యోచనతో, ప్రాకారము మీదనున్న యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులను బెదరించుటకును నొప్పించుటకును, యూదాభాషలో బిగ్గరగా వారితో ఆ మాటలు పలికిరి.

19 And they spake of the God of Jerusalem, as of the gods of the peoples of the earth, which are the work of men's hands.మరియు వారు మనుష్యుల చేతిపనియైన భూజనుల దేవతలమీద తాము పలికిన దూషణలను యెరూషలేముయొక్క దేవునిమీద కూడను పలికిరి.

20 And Hezekiah the king, and Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, prayed because of this, and cried to heaven.రాజైన హిజ్కియాయును ఆమోజు కుమారుడైన యెషయా అను ప్రవక్తయును ఇందును గురించి ప్రార్థించి ఆకాశముతట్టు చూచి మొఱ్ఱపెట్టగా

21 And Jehovah sent an angel, who cut off all the mighty men of valor, and the leaders and captains, in the camp of the king of Assyria. So he returned with shame of face to his own land. And when he was come into the house of his god, they that came forth from his own bowels slew him there with the sword.​యెహోవా ఒక దూతను పంపెను. అతడు అష్షూరు రాజు దండులోని పరాక్రమశాలులనందరిని సేనా నాయకులను అధికారులను నాశనముచేయగా అష్షూరురాజు సిగ్గునొందినవాడై తన దేశమునకు తిరిగిపోయెను. అంతట అతడు తన దేవునిగుడిలో చొచ్చినప్పుడు అతని కడుపున పుట్టినవారే అతని అక్కడ కత్తిచేత చంపిరి.

22 Thus Jehovah saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib the king of Assyria, and from the hand of all `others', and guided them on every side.ఈ ప్రకారము యెహోవా హిజ్కియాను యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులను అష్షూరు రాజైన సన్హెరీబు చేతిలోనుండియు అందరిచేతిలోనుండియు రక్షించి, అన్నివైపులను వారిని కాపాడినందున

23 And many brought gifts unto Jehovah to Jerusalem, and precious things to Hezekiah king of Judah; so that he was exalted in the sight of all nations from thenceforth.అనేకులు యెరూషలేములో యెహోవాకు అర్పణలను యూదా రాజైన హిజ్కియాకు కానుకలను తెచ్చి యిచ్చిరి. అందు వలన అతడు అప్పటినుండి సకల జనముల దృష్టికి ఘనత నొందిన వాడాయెను.

24 In those days Hezekiah was sick even unto death: and he prayed unto Jehovah; and he spake unto him, and gave him a sign.ఆ దినములలో హిజ్కియా రోగియై మరణదశలో నుండెను. అతడు యెహోవాకు మొఱ్ఱపెట్టగా ఆయన అతనికి తన చిత్తమును తెలియపరచి అతనికి సూచన యొకటి దయచేసెను.

25 But Hezekiah rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up: therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.అయితే హిజ్కియా మనస్సున గర్వించి తనకు చేయబడిన మేలుకు తగినట్లు ప్రవర్తింపనందున అతని మీదికిని యూదా యెరూషలేముల వారిమీదికిని కోపము రాగా

26 Notwithstanding Hezekiah humbled himself for the pride of his heart, both he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the wrath of Jehovah came not upon them in the days of Hezekiah.హిజ్కియా హృదయగర్వము విడచి, తానును యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులును తమ్మును తాము తగ్గించుకొనిరి గనుక హిజ్కియా దినములలో యెహోవా కోపము జనుల మీదికి రాలేదు.

27 And Hezekiah had exceeding much riches and honor: and he provided him treasuries for silver, and for gold, and for precious stones, and for spices, and for shields, and for all manner of goodly vessels;హిజ్కియాకు అతివిస్తారమైన ఐశ్వర్యమును ఘనతయు కలిగెను. అతడు వెండి బంగార ములను రత్నములను సుగంధద్రవ్యములను డాళ్లను నానా విధములగు శ్రేష్ఠమైన ఉపకరణములను సంపాదించి వాటికి బొక్కసములను కట్టించెను.

28 store-houses also for the increase of grain and new wine and oil; and stalls for all manner of beasts, and flocks in folds.ధాన్యమును ద్రాక్షా రసమును తైలమును ఉంచుటకు కొట్లను, పలువిధముల పశువులకు శాలలను మందలకు దొడ్లను కట్టించెను.

29 Moreover he provided him cities, and possessions of flocks and herds in abundance; for God had given him very much substance.​మరియు దేవుడు అతనికి అతి విస్తారమైన కలిమి దయచేసినందున పట్టణములను విస్తారమైన గొఱ్ఱలమందలను పసులమందలను అతడు సంపాదించెను.

30 This same Hezekiah also stopped the upper spring of the waters of Gihon, and brought them straight down on the west side of the city of David. And Hezekiah prospered in all his works.ఈ హిజ్కియా గిహోను కాలువకు ఎగువను కట్టవేయించి దావీదు పట్టణపు పడమటి వైపునకు దాని తెప్పించెను, హిజ్కియా తాను పూనుకొనిన సర్వప్రయత్నములయందును వృద్ధిపొందెను.

31 Howbeit in `the business of' the ambassadors of the princes of Babylon, who sent unto him to inquire of the wonder that was done in the land, God left him, to try him, that he might know all that was in his heart.అతని దేశము ఆశ్చర్యముగా వృద్ధినొందుటను గూర్చి విచారించి తెలిసికొనుటకై బబులోను అధిపతులు అతనియొద్దకు పంపిన రాయబారుల విషయములో అతని శోధించి, అతని హృద యములోని ఉద్ధేశమంతయు తెలిసికొనవలెనని దేవుడతని విడచిపెట్టెను.

32 Now the rest of the acts of Hezekiah, and his good deeds, behold, they are written in the vision of Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz, in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.హిజ్కియా చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చియు, అతడు చూపిన భక్తినిగూర్చియు, ప్రవక్త యును ఆమోజు కుమారుడునగు యెషయాకు కలిగిన దర్శనముల గ్రంథము నందును యూదా ఇశ్రాయేలుల రాజుల గ్రంథమునందును వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

33 And Hezekiah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the ascent of the sepulchres of the sons of David: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem did him honor at his death. And Manasseh his son reigned in his stead.హిజ్కియా తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించగా జనులు దావీదు సంతతివారి శ్మశానభూమి యందు కట్టబడిన పైస్థానమునందు అతని పాతిపెట్టిరి. అతడు మరణ మొందినప్పుడు యూదావారందరును యెరూషలేము కాపురస్థులందరును అతనికి ఉత్తర క్రియ లను ఘనముగా జరిగించిరి. అతని కుమారుడైన మనష్షే అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.
