1 Samuel 5:7
అష్డోదువారు సంభవించిన దాని చూచిఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుని హస్తము మనమీదను మన దేవత యగు దాగోనుమీదను బహుభారముగా నున్నదే; ఆయన మందసము మనమధ్య నుండుటయే దీనికి కారణముగదా; అది యిక మన మధ్య నుండకూడదని చెప్పుకొని

| of the God | יֵשֵׁ֞ב | yēšēb | yay-SHAVE |
| Israel of | אֲר֨וֹן | ʾărôn | uh-RONE |
| shall not | אֱלֹהֵ֤י | ʾĕlōhê | ay-loh-HAY |
| abide | יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ | yiśrāʾēl | yees-ra-ALE |
| with | עִמָּ֔נוּ | ʿimmānû | ee-MA-noo |
| for us: | כִּֽי | kî | kee |
| his hand | קָשְׁתָ֤ה | qoštâ | kohsh-TA |
| sore is | יָדוֹ֙ | yādô | ya-DOH |
| upon | עָלֵ֔ינוּ | ʿālênû | ah-LAY-noo |
| us, and upon | וְעַ֖ל | wĕʿal | veh-AL |
| Dagon | דָּג֥וֹן | dāgôn | da-ɡONE |
| our god. | אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ | ʾĕlōhênû | ay-loh-HAY-noo |
