ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே உங்களைச் சிதற அடித்து, உங்கள் பின்னாகப் பட்டயத்தை உருவுவேன்; உங்கள் தேசம் பாழும், உங்கள் பட்டணங்கள் வனாந்தரமுமாகும்.

ஆனாலும் அவர்களுடைய இருதயம் அவர்களுடைய நரகலான விக்கிரகங்களைப் பின்பற்றி, அவர்கள் என் நியாயங்களை வெறுத்து, என் கட்டளைகளில் நடவாமற்போய், என் ஓய்வுநாட்களைப் பரிசுத்தக் குலைச்சலாக்கினபடியால்,

கர்த்தர் உன்னைப் பூமியின் ஒரு முனைதுவக்கி பூமியின் மறுமுனைமட்டும் இருக்கிற எல்லா ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளும் சிதற அடிப்பார்; அங்கே நீயும் உன் பிதாக்களும் அறியாத மரமும் கல்லுமான அந்நிய தேவர்களைச் சேவிப்பாய்.

எங்கள் கை உயர்ந்ததென்றும், கர்த்தர் இதையெல்லாம் செய்யவில்லை என்றும் அவர்களுடைய பகைஞர் தப்பெண்ணங்கொண்டு சொல்லுவார்கள் என்று,

நான் என் கரத்தை வானத்திற்குநேராக உயர்த்தி, நான் என்றென்றைக்கும் ஜீவித்திருக்கிறவர் என்கிறேன்.

அவர்கள் பற்பல தேசங்களிலே சிதறடிக்கப்படவும், அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகத் தம்முடைய கையை எடுத்தார்.

எசேக்கியாவின் குமாரனும், யூதாவின் ராஜாவுமாகிய மனாசே எருசலேமில் செய்தவைகளினிமித்தம் அவர்களைப் பூமியிலுள்ள எல்லார ராஜ்யங்களிலும் அலையப்பண்ணுவேன்.

சமுத்திரத்தின்மேலும் பூமியின்மேலும் நிற்கிறதாக நான் கண்ட தூதன், தன் கையை வானத்திற்கு நேராக உயர்த்தி;
