தான் கன்மலையில் வெட்டியிருந்த தன்னுடைய புதிய கல்லறையிலே அதை வைத்து, கல்லறையின் வாசலில் ஒரு பெரிய கல்லைப் புரட்டிவைத்துப்போனான்.

அவர்கள் போய்க் கல்லுக்கு முத்திரைபோட்டு, காவல் வைத்து, கல்லறையைப் பத்திரப்படுத்தினார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது, பூமி மிகவும் அதிரும்படி, கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் வானத்திலிருந்திறங்கி வந்து, வாசலிலிருந்த கல்லைப் புரட்டித் தள்ளி, அதின்மேல் உட்கார்ந்தான்.

துன்மார்க்கரோடே அவருடைய பிரேதக்குழியை நியமித்தார்கள்; ஆனாலும் அவர் மரித்தபோது ஐசுவரியவானோடே இருந்தார்; அவர் கொடுமை செய்யவில்லை; அவர் வாயில் வஞ்சனை இருந்ததுமில்லை.

கல்லறையின் வாசலிருக்கிற கல்லை நமக்காக எவன் புரட்டித்தள்ளுவான் என்று ஒருவரோடொருவர் சொல்லிக்கொண்டார்கள்.

கல்லறையை அடைத்திருந்த கல் புரட்டித் தள்ளப்பட்டிருக்கிறதைக் கண்டு,

வாரத்தின் முதல் நாள் காலையில், அதிக இருட்டோடே, மகதலேனா மரியாள் கல்லறையினிடத்திற்கு வந்து கல்லறையை அடைத்திருந்த கல் எடுத்துப்போட்டிருக்கக்கண்டாள்.
