லூக்கா 2
8 அப்பொழுது அந்த நாட்டிலே மேய்ப்பர்கள் வயல்வெளியில் தங்கி, இராத்திரியிலே தங்கள் மந்தையைக் காத்துக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.
9 அவ்வேளையில் கர்த்தருடைய தூதன் அவர்களிடத்திலே வந்து நின்றான், கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை அவர்களைச் சுற்றிலும் பிரகாசித்தது; அவர்கள் மிகவும் பயந்தார்கள்.
10 தேவதூதன் அவர்களை நோக்கி: பயப்படாதிருங்கள்; இதோ, எல்லா ஜனத்துக்கும் மிகுந்த சந்தோஷத்தை உண்டாக்கும் நற்செய்தியை உங்களுக்கு அறிவிக்கிறேன்.
11 இன்று கர்த்தராகிய கிறிஸ்து என்னும் இரட்சகர் உங்களுக்குத் தாவீதின் ஊரிலே பிறந்திருக்கிறார்.
12 பிள்ளையைத் துணிகளில் சுற்றி, முன்னணையில் கிடத்தியிருக்கக்காண்பீர்கள்; இதுவே உங்களுக்கு அடையாளம் என்றான்.
13 அந்தணமே பரமசேனையின் திரள் அந்தத் தூதனுடனே தோன்றி:
14 உன்னதத்திலிருக்கிற தேவனுக்கு மகிமையும், பூமியிலே சமாதானமும், மனுஷர்மேல் பிரியமும் உண்டாவதாக என்று சொல்லி, தேவனைத் துதித்தார்கள்.
15 தேவதூதர்கள் அவர்களை விட்டுப் பரலோகத்துக்குப் போனபின்பு, மேய்ப்பர்கள் ஒருவரையொருவர் நோக்கி: நாம் பெத்லகேம் ஊருக்குப் போய், நடந்ததாகக் கர்த்தரால் நமக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்ட இந்தக் காரியத்தைப் பார்ப்போம் வாருங்கள் என்று சொல்லி,
16 தீவிரமாய் வந்து, மரியாளையும், யோசேப்பையும், முன்னணையிலே கிடத்தியிருக்கிற பிள்ளையையும் கண்டார்கள்.
17 கண்டு, அந்தப் பிள்ளையைக் குறித்துத் தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்ட சங்கதியைப் பிரசித்தம்பண்ணினார்கள்.
18 மேய்ப்பராலே தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டதைக் கேட்ட யாவரும் அவைகளைக்குறித்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.
19 மரியாளோ அந்தச் சங்கதிகளையெல்லாம் தன் இருதயத்திலே வைத்து, சிந்தனைபண்ணினாள்.
20 மேய்ப்பர்களும் தங்களுக்குச் சொல்லப்பட்டதின்படியே கேட்டு, கண்ட எல்லாவற்றிற்காகவும் தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்தி, துதித்துக்கொண்டு திரும்பிப்போனார்கள்.
21 பிள்ளைக்கு விருத்தசேதனம் பண்ணவேண்டிய எட்டாம் நாளிலே, அது கர்ப்பத்திலே உற்பவிக்கிறதற்கு முன்னே தேவதூதனால் சொல்லப்பட்டபடியே அதற்கு இயேசு என்று பேரிட்டார்கள்.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
21 And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

7 அப்பொழுது பெர்சியாவின் ராஜாவாகிய கோரேஸ் தங்களுக்குப் பிறப்பித்த உத்தரவின்படியே அவர்கள் கல்தச்சருக்கும் தச்சருக்கும் பணத்தையும், லீபனோனிலிருந்து கேதுருமரங்களைச் சமுத்திரவழியாய் யோபாமட்டும் கொண்டுவரச் சீதோனியருக்கும் தீரியருக்கும் போஜனபானத்தையும் எண்ணெயையும் கொடுத்தார்கள்.
They gave money also unto the masons, and to the carpenters; and meat, and drink, and oil, unto them of Zidon, and to them of Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Joppa, according to the grant that they had of Cyrus king of Persia.
8 அவர்கள் எருசலேமிலுள்ள தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு வந்த இரண்டாம் வருஷம் இரண்டாம் மாதத்திலே, செயல்த்தியேலின் குமாரனாகிய செருபாபேலும், யோசதாக்கின் குமாரனாகிய யெசுவாவும், மற்றுமுள்ள அவர்கள் சகோதரராகிய ஆசாரியரும் லேவியரும் சிறையிருப்பிலிருந்து எருசலேமுக்கு வந்த அனைவரும், ஆரம்பஞ்செய்து, இருபதுவயதுமுதல் அதற்குமேற்பட்ட லேவியரைக் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் வேலையை நடத்தும்படி வைத்தார்கள்.
Now in the second year of their coming unto the house of God at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the remnant of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all they that were come out of the captivity unto Jerusalem; and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to set forward the work of the house of the Lord.
9 அப்படியே தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் வேலையைச் செய்கிறவர்களை நடத்தும்படி யெசுவாவும் அவன் குமாரரும் சகோதரரும், கத்மியேலும் அவன் குமாரரும், யூதாவின் குமாரரும், எனாதாத்தின் குமாரரும், அவர்கள் சகோதரராகிய லேவியரும் ஒருமனப்பட்டு நின்றார்கள்.
Then stood Jeshua with his sons and his brethren, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Judah, together, to set forward the workmen in the house of God: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brethren the Levites.
10 சிற்பாசாரிகள் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு அஸ்திபராம் போடுகிறபோது, இஸ்ரவேல் ராஜாவாகிய தாவீதுடைய கட்டளையின்படியே, கர்த்தரைத் துதிக்கும்படிக்கு, வஸ்திரங்கள் தரிக்கப்பட்டு, பூரிகைகளை ஊதுகிற ஆசாரியரையும், தாளங்களைக் கொட்டுகிற ஆசாபின் குமாரராகிய லேவியரையும் நிறுத்தினார்கள்.
And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, they set the priests in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise the Lord, after the ordinance of David king of Israel.
11 கர்த்தர் நல்லவர், இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் அவருடைய கிருபை என்றுமுள்ளது என்று அவரைப் புகழ்ந்து துதிக்கையில், மாறிமாறிப் பாடினார்கள்; கர்த்தரைத் துதிக்கையில், ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் அஸ்திபாரம் போடப்படுகிறதினிமித்தம் மகா கெம்பீரமாய் ஆரவாரித்தார்கள்.
And they sang together by course in praising and giving thanks unto the Lord; because he is good, for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. And all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.
12 முந்தின ஆலயத்தைக் கண்டிருந்த முதிர்வயதான ஆசாரியரிலும், லேவியரிலும், பிதாக்கள் வம்சங்களின் தலைவரிலும் அநேகர் இந்த ஆலயத்துக்குத் தங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக அஸ்திபாரம் போடப்படுகிறதைக் கண்டபோது, மகா சத்தமிட்டு அழுதார்கள்; வேறே அநேகம்பேரோ கெம்பீர சந்தோஷமாய் ஆர்ப்பரித்தார்கள்.
But many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who were ancient men, that had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice; and many shouted aloud for joy:
