அப்பொழுது சிமியோன் என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஒரு மனுஷன் எருசலேமில் இருந்தான்; அவன் நீதியும் தேவபக்தியும் உள்ளவனாயும், இஸ்ரவேலின் ஆறுதல் வரக்காத்திருக்கிறவனாயும் இருந்தான்; அவன் மேல் பரிசுத்த ஆவி இருந்தார்.

கனம்பொருந்திய ஆலோசனைக்காரனும் அரிமத்தியா ஊரானானும் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யம் வரக் காத்திருந்தவனுமாகிய யோசேப்பு என்பவன் வந்து, பிலாத்துவினிடத்தில் துணிந்துபோய், இயேசுவின் சரீரத்தைக் கேட்டான்.

இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம் உண்டாவதாக.

அவரே இஸ்ரவேலை மீட்டிரட்சிப்பவர் என்று நாங்கள் நம்பியிருந்தோம் இவைகள் சம்பவித்து இன்று மூன்று நாளாகிறது.

தேவன் அருளிய சொல்லிமுடியாத ஈவுக்காக அவருக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்.

அப்பொழுது மரியாள்: என் ஆத்துமா கர்த்தரை மகிமைப்படுத்துகிறது,

உடனே அவனுடைய வாய் திறக்கப்பட்டு, அவனுடைய நாவும் கட்டவிழ்க்கப்பட்டு, தேவனை ஸ்தோத்திரித்துப் பேசினான்.

அவன் அவரைத் தன் கைகளில் ஏந்திக்கொண்டு தேவனை ஸ்தோத்திரித்து:

அவன் யூதருடைய பட்டணங்களிலொன்றாகிய அரிமத்தியாவிலிருந்து வந்தவனும், தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்துக்குக் காத்திருந்தவனும், யூதர்களுடைய ஆலோசனைக்கும் செய்கைக்கும் சம்மதியாதவனுமாயிருந்தான்.

நம்முடைய கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் பிதாவாகிய தேவனுக்கு ஸ்தோத்திரம்; அவர் கிறிஸ்துவுக்குள் உன்னதங்களிலே ஆவிக்குரிய சகல ஆசீர்வாதத்தினாலும் நம்மை ஆசீர்வதித்திருக்கிறார்.
